5 NCAA Final Fours in the last 11 years. He's in the final four almost half the time lately! That's insane. He's better at final four appearances in that period than anyone (Carolina has 5 in the last 12 years). And one of those was a championship.

I don't think he's interested in the UK job, but he would be a great coach for us. He is not the crazy recruiter that Calipari, Donovan, or Roy Williams is, but I think he does a phenomenal job with the talent he has in the NCAA Tournament. If you like winning NCAA Tournament games and going to the Final Four, Izzo is the man. And did I mention he ruined the #1 of #1's Louisville Cardinal's NCAA run and Final Four Bid?

That said, he's not the only man! Both Calipari and Pitino are a great choices for our next coach as well.

Go cats!

Here's a nice piece of investigative journalism on Smith and his tenure at Minnesota. Some new quotes from Tubby about his time and standards at UK.

Arkansas has now upset two top-10 teams, first Oklahoma, and now Texas today. It's going to be hard to keep them out of the top 25 with those wins and a 12-1 record.

Could it be our Nolan Richardson-era rival is rising again? Arkansas is now looking like the team to beat in the SEC West.

Maybe the SEC's not as bad as all the pundits think. The cats definitely need to keep their concentration up and not take the SEC for granted - it's going to be tougher than most people suspect.

Hire basketball coach for OSU - check. Next: Build the world's largest wind farm.

Some people would hang their heads if they couldn't get coach Gillispie to coach basketball for their alma mater. But that's not what our friend T. Boone Pickens did. "If you can't land the best basketball coach in the land," he said in a recent fictitious interview, "maybe you can do the next best thing and work to reduce the United States' dependence on foreign oil."

I'm very impressed. It's definitely something to see for those who were panning him for his perceived undue influence with the OSU athletic department.
