The morning after another tough loss is always a bad day. Somewhere inside each human being that is a fanatic of a sports team knows this feeling. The birds chirping gets on your nerves, your work colleagues have stuff to say that you don’t really want to hear, it seems that every driver on the road is trying to cut you off, your lunch break is not the same, we have the same hope of "maybe next week", and you have a feeling of defeat in your heart.

We all are trying to place blame on someone, anyone; It is a natural defense mechanism that is built into us as human beings. Who’s at fault? Do we blame the offense or defense? Do we blame the coaches or general manager? Do we blame just a certain player? The natural instinct that is given to us all at birth, has our minds thinking what is wrong, and what can we do to fix it?

After reading several articles in the past, I thought that our owner had very "deep pockets", And wasn’t afraid to spend money bringing the best talent to our beloved Miami Dolphins. Maybe I was wrong. The gut feeling that I had about the whole celebrity atmosphere was pretty much thinking, we are in a recession, the guy is trying to make some extra money. Along came the minority owners and the dreaded "Orange Carpet". I thought that maybe he wanted the Dolphins to be exciting, a place where people would want to come to. Then I thought, this is football, I played this game before and it was all about Spirit, not paparazzi looking for celebrities. Of course there are celebrities at every sports event, but no team has an "Orange Carpet" or any other carpet for that matter. They have booths and in basketball, they usually sparingly sit court side at the games.

First and Foremost - Let me state that this is not a "hate" thread, nor a "Henne, Sparano, Ireland, etc, bashing" thread.  This includes our history as a franchise, and my honest opnion on why we have been a mediocre franchise the last decade!

We were pretty much the last AFL Franchise to be made in 1966 (For a historical side note, we were the Miami Seahawks (1946) before they turned into the Baltimore Colts).  For you Madden players, I'm sure you noticed that we weren't on the Anniversary AFL mode that was available to download.  Like most expansion teams, we had a losing record for the first few years, but unlike most before, and nearly all since, this was about to change!

After only 4 seasons, in which we were a losing franchise, we got Don Shula to be our head coach, and lost our first round pick in 1970 to the Colts for him.  But I’d say he was well worth it!  We got a franchise QB, Bob Griese, a first round pick, and made the playoffs our first season under Shula!  Then, unlike almost any "newer" franchise in history, we made the Super Bowl in our 6th season!  We also won the Super Bowl going undefeated throughout our 7th season, and won it again in our 8th season as a franchise.

We only made the playoffs 2 more times during the 70’s, and would not appear in another Super Bowl untill 1982. That same year (1983 as we all know SB’s are played at the start of the new year), we drafted another franchise QB in the first round, by the name of Dan Marino.  Marino’s 2nd season saw all kinds of records being made & broken, along with us going to another Super Bowl in 1984 (but we lost to the Redskins). So by then we had made 5 Super Bowls in 13 years with Shula as our HC. We would make it to the playoffs 5 more times under Shula, And he retired following the 1995 season. His all time record coaching the Dolphins for 26 seasons is 257-133-2.

Hi,

 As most of you may have missed my orignal thread with all of the first pre-season game stuff going on. This is the second year of : The Phinsider Fantasy Football Jersey & Prize League. First & second place recieve a Miami Dolphins throwback "Players Of The Century" jersey of either Dan Marino or Larry Csonka. I chose these two because the are all-time Dolphin favorites. The rest of the league gets prizes also, ranging from freezer mugs, Dolphin signs, all the way to keychains. I do this because I own a memrobilia store and love the Dolphins.

Please note that these are not the cheap "bootlegs" that wear out after maybe three washes. In my state, they check sports stores & if your caught without the rn# & fake non-comminished stuff, you lose your license. I give away all the prizes, to EVERYONE that joins, & PLAYS COMPETITVELY!

There are 5 spots left, with 2 of the spots still waiting on their owners to join the league. There will be 16 teams, and I hope it is very competitive. If you have the time to actually try to win, and love fantasy football, than this is the league for you.

It is a 16 team, 4 division, h2h private league. For Phinsider memers only. I welcome anyone that wants to play, and regardless of what you think of some of my post, dont miss out on a great league of people! I am a die-hard Dolphin fan & I admit that I get emotional when it comes to my Dolphins, but that doesnt get in the way of how I run a league. We got a late start last year but it was still real fun!

I would like to get this league full so that we can all agree (with plenty of time) on a live draft day! I am not a "dodger" either, I have been here since Dec 2006, and am not going to run away over something that I am offering for a nice fun league! Meaning, im not going to keep your prizes, you will get what you win. I am playing in it, but I dont count towards the prizes. This is only my second year of playing Fantas Football & I love it, love the Dolphins, and love competition, plus the fact that the economy sucks, not everyone can take extra money and put in a authentic jersey.

It is a nice ESPN league, and I think it will be a great competition, and remember that this is the second year and I made this a keeper league, so I hope to continue doing it every year. I will also do other fantasy games for prizes (Dolphin related prizes cus I live in VA and not much of the Dolphin stuff I order sells, which is fine by me :) ) I had orignally planned a baseball league but due to very un-expected deaths in my family overseas in Sicily, I wasnt able to, but I think I have caught the "Fantasy Bug", all I need is a good friend like Foy, on here to help me set them up. We can play for other memrobilia also, if you happen to win and want something different, I am very easy to work with. I have several Marino rookie cards graded PSA 9 mint, any sports team (even Arena Football) & keep a good stock of merchandise.

I also will ship internationally! I do it on a regualr basis as I have customers online that I have been doing so for years!

 First off, let me start by saying that last season was fun & I still owe someone a jersey. I was out of the country most of the year & the email that I was using from work, I had to get a new one because I was "cut" from that job. Will you kindly send me your address to my new email, edove44@gmail.com, & you will have your 'Greatest Players Of The Century" Dan Marino jersey, in time for the season opener! Im sorry, had a couple of un-expected deaths in my family & was in Sicily.

Ok, now since that issue is out of the way, I would like to get an early start this year. Also, would like and appreciate the people that join, to actually try and play this year! Some didnt last year, and it was understandable because of the late start & our losing season, but these are for REAL jerseys, not Chinese, Korean, or where ever, cheap bootlegs that only last maybe 2-3 washes, lol.

Question: Do we keep the same league as last year? Can we add teams to the league from last year? I would like to have a good league, again not only because the jerseys arent cheap, but I would like to have fun playing in it also.

What is the max amount of teams we can have & still be a competitive, fun, but also challenging league? I do not know much about Fantasy Football, being I signed up every year here but never made the cut, and last season was my first year playing it. Obviously, I will need help running it & setting up the points system! I would like to have the extra points for long TD's, long receptions, long runs, etc; Here are some things I know I liked. Also, would purchase a paid league if needed (I honestly dont know).

• ESPN's fantasy football league was more fun than NFL.coms'
• This is a "questionair" type of thread, so we can figure out what to get.
• I am open to all suggestions!
• Let's have a fun year with the league this year, enjoy winning a jersey just for playing Fantasy Football!

I was just reading some comments on the home page, where as we all know, Mosul_Dolphan has taken over the day to day operations of our beloved site, The Phinsider. Some of the "fans" here are downright rude, and most of the comments are very non-deserving! I do not think he makes a dime to do this for us, and even if he makes any money, he has been working his butt off for all of us, so that we will be able to know what all is going on with our Dolphins!

Comments like - "Stick to Dolphins news ONLY!", "We really do not care about this" etc; Are really not the foundation of this site. Just in the HOF thread alone, makes me feel like this site is in for a rough season! I will be the first to admit that when I am in a bad mood about my loved team and what they are doing, I will vent. Sometimes taking it out on people that have stood by me as friends on this site that I call home, and I always say that I am sorry and usually if it is a stupid thread, I delete it. Mosul is the "New Regieme" of this site, if you will, and is working very hard to get us all prepared for the upcoming season!

If you can not even be civil in a thread about who was elected into the HOF, whats next, I ask? There are several things people are going to be mad about that I will explain in a moment, but jumping in Mosuls s*** for no reason is kind of "un-called for"! The HOF thread is an every year one that we have here! I for one am damn happy that I can go to The Phinsider, and read who was elected instead of watching ESPN, and it also helps "on the go" and several of us because we are military, former military, work jobs on the road, may not even have cable, etc;

There are a few issues that just keep piling up, that kind of makes me wish this were a paid site, where it was like $10 bucks a year or something. Here are some below;

• Do you honestly think that Mosul can sign a free agent or make a trade? The man is providing us news, along with many more, that you can not find anywhere else, especially some of us.
• We ALL want to WIN, and WIN NOW, but what can we honestly do about it? There is no need to snap, curse, or whatever else on our news provider because in all honesty, WTF can he do about it?
• We are supposed to be here because we all share the love for the Dolphins, and some people because they are fans of a player, maybe went to the same school, etc; BUT if we have an opnion about a certain player and express it, and my thoughts are as fans, we should be able to, there is always someone to point out what is bad about the player, bring up stats, and just totally rip on someone for NO REASON!
• The whole "Henne Saga" the last few seasons is about just way to hard to debate with most people in any friendly manner! I am not a "Henne Fan", but he is our QB and I am a Dolphin fan first! Do I like the last 10+ years of not really doing much? Hell No, and No Dolphin fan should, but it is a team sport, and there is nothing we can do but root for our team and players! There is nothing wrong with wanting another player, but this is not Madden, there is not a thing anyone of us can do about it.

Sadly, there are many, many other things, but honestly, the internet has opened my eyes to something that i've never been used to: Fair Weather Fans, Madden Experts, and many a*********. I always thought that Dolphin fans were the greatest in the NFL, and even though we have had losing seasons (not like we have never had them before) why keep talking s*** to other Dolphin Fans? We get practice updates, fantasy leagues, NFL news, all of the Miami Dolphin news, etc;

So, I suppose the main question, besides everyone fed up with losing (me included), Why do most threads end up like Philly fans? Whats next?  "Meet me in the parking lot & we will settle this!"??? Also, I know this thread wont make a difference, but I had to get it off my mind. Show some damn respect to authority on this site, once you piss off someone so many times, most of the news that WE want to read, will be on some other blog.
