Babin Gets Robbed
As if losing 4 straight wasn't bad enough, Babin loses all his belongings.
Anyone going to training camp tomorrow (Saturday) ?! I'd love to see some of you guys out there! I'll be there bright and early!
Patterson's Truck Blows Up
Mike Pattersons Truck blows up outside the NOVACARE complex. The culprit... a possibly, overheating battery.
The end of NFL Apparel Licensing
"In a 9-0 decision Monday, the justices said the league can be considered 32 separate teams, not a single business".
Therefore, teams will be able to negotiate their own contracts with different apparel companies by using good ol' competition. The good news - this could bring the cost of your jersey down a couple bucks!
Bury Me In My Jersey
Philly.com and Igglesblog talk about an upcoming book being released by Tom McAllister. The book is a memoir on his life and the death of his father, while incorporating his obession with the Eagles.
This book is now in my Amazon cart.
I wanted to pass this along because I learned of the book "The Silver Lining Playbook" on BGN and loved it - thats my recommendation. Baskett will be your new found favorite Eagle after reading that book :-)
Eagles Sign WR Hall
"The Eagles today announced they have signed WR Chad Hall to a three-year contract. Hall, 23, is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and has spent the past two years serving as a second lieutenant at Hill Air Force Base in Salt Lake City, UT, after a prolific collegiate career."
Bobby April Replaces Ted Daisher as Special Teams Coordinator
"The Eagles acquired one of the hottest assistant coaches on the market when they named Bobby April the new special teams coordinator on Thursday. To hire April, the Eagles terminated the contract of special teams coordinator Ted Daisher after one year in that role. The Eagles also terminated the contracts of strength and conditioning coach Mike Wolf and assistant strength and conditioning coach Jay Merlino."
Contract Lengths for the Eagles Roster
With all this talk about who is on the chopping block, whether it be for trade or releasing purposes, I figured this would be a perfect place to list who is eligable for RFA, UFA and the contract lengths.
I retrieved this information from the Eagles Website and it lists everyone that is on the Eagles Roster.
Jackson Named Sporting News' All-Pro Punt Returner
Jackson was named Sporting News' All-Pro Punt Returner today after the remaining names were released. He joins David Akers as All-Pro Place Kicker.
Jackson Named Special Teams Player of the Month (December)
Congrats to Desean Jackson for receiving this award for the second time. I'm sure the punt return for a touchdown and the 15.2 yd return averaged helped.
Americas Most Hated Team
Hey! Over at BGN we are doing a poll for the most hated teams. Considering if BGN were the only ones asked it would be a little swayed so we would like all of the NFC to join in the vote and share your story!
Americas Most Hated Team
Hey! Over at BGN we are doing a poll to decipher America's most hated team. Stop by and add your vote/share your story!
America's Most Hated Team
Doing a poll over at BGN and because of course all fans are bias, I don't want to not include all of the NFC. So please come out and vote/share your story!
America's Most Hated Team
I’m sure everyone is disappointed with our loss to the Cowboys. This feeling is worsened by the fact that we ended our season on a shut-out against one of our biggest division rivals, and to make matters EVEN worse – we have to turn around and play them again in the play-offs. Everyone has made great insights to what the Eagles need to do on Saturday to get our balls out of the blender but suffice to say that the Cowboys played a great game all around. Wow, that tasted like vinegar.
As I suffer from this rancid loss against the Cowboys, I’m saddened selfishly because of my personal hatred for the Cowboys. Now, they haven’t ever personally done anything to me and their success was when I was a mere child and couldn’t really understand the rival in it. With that said, since I’ve moved from the southern east end of Pennsylvania my hatred has grown by 100%; all situational of course. Since I’ve moved to the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area I’ve seen more and more Cowboy fans with no relation to the city – Wait! I’ll spare the Bandwagon rhetoric. You would think that this would be Redskins country and it is, but there are more Cowboy fans here than I ever would of imagined and I dated the epitome of what we all hate. I dated a 27 year old guy that was a Dallas fan but had no relation to the city. His ENTIRE family was from Virginia. I’ll give him credit; he made it to Dallas for the first time probably when he was 25 to go to a game. He was the typical immature homer who would literally say "na na na na boo boo" after a Cowboys win. This rendezvous only lasted a couple months (It shouldn’t even of lasted that long) and the last straw was around the time the Phillies were in the World Series. I forced him to watch baseball even though he probably never did in his entire life. A few days after the WS he went out and bought a Phillies WS champion shirt…. Seriously. No. Seriously. The fact that I haven't talked to him in a year but he still wants to rub in Cowboys wins via e-mail makes me dislike the Cowboys and their fans even more. Therefore, the Cowboys are my most hated team.

History of the Eagles - Cowboys Rivalry
Mitchell interviews Owens
Mitchell interviews Owens and discusses Philly fans and they both take swipes at McNabb.
They both wish they were still on this team.
Reid till 2013
Reid finally got his deal, which we all expected would come soon enough! Although I know there are a few of you that are already upset with the idea of the deal, it has been confirmed on the Eagles website that the deal has officially been done. Reid has signed an extension that will leave him the Coach of the Eagles until 2013.
"Since being named head coach on January 11, 1999, Reid has compiled the best win total (115), winning percentage (.611) and playoffs victory total (10) in team history. He has captured five division titles and five trips to the NFC Championship game, while earning playoff berths in seven of his first 10 seasons. In that time span, no team has earned more divisional round playoff appearances (7) or championship game appearances (5) than Reid's Eagles."
Any other details have not been confirmed.
Flozell Fined 50K
Looks like Flozell Adams has been fined $50,000 for his hit on Justin Tuck on the last play of the first half in last Sundays game. Usually the league notifies teams of suspensions on Tuesdays so they can plan for the upcoming game, and since the Cowboys were not notified of a suspension, Adams will most likely avoid a suspension.

Eagles are Recovering
With all the injuries we have had this season, its time everyone gets healthy and ready for the remaining 4 games of the season. These are big games, which will help lead us to a possible NFC East Division title and playoff run. We have a lot of people who are banged up but I wanted to focus on just a few – especially after the news I received about Maclin.
Jeremy Maclin – Looks like he has a should sprain which occurred in week 13 and the most surprising news is that it has been mentioned that Maclin is suffering from plantar fasciitis, the same thing that Eli Manning is suffering from. Should we be concerned? This cannot be good.
Desean Jackson – He plans on playing this coming Sunday night in our Prime Time game against the Giants but he will be undergoing more evaluations today. I guess we’ll see if he is able to play when it’s game time. As I’m sure we all want him out there.
Jason Peters – Suffered a head/shoulder injury and nothing much has been said about it. Peters claims he did not suffer a concussion. Reid took him out as a precautionary action and was kept out of the game on Sunday against Atlanta due to us man-handling them.
Brent Celek – Thumb sprain. He seems to be nervous about it but is still gonna be out there playing. I say nervous because he didn’t start the game off all that great against Atlanta. I am hoping he’ll be back to 100% this week against the Giants.
Akeem Jordan – He was practicing a little bit last week but was still held out of the game. He will be practicing fully this week and should be good to go for the Giants.
Kevin Curtis – It has been mentioned he will be practicing this week with the Scout team, but he has already missed almost all of the season so I’m not getting my hopes up.
Brian Westbrook – Monday Reid stated there is a chance he could be back practicing this week but we’ll have to wait and see.

With everyone on the verge of coming back from injury, it couldn’t be at a better time. I just hope that they remain healthy for the rest of the season (and post-season of course!) The Giants won’t know what hit them!
GO BIRDS!
Eagles Release WR Norwood
Norwood will be released to make room for Hanson's return after a four game suspension.
Eagles Highlights vs. Falcons including Fumble, Weaver TD, Weaver 1-Hand Catch, Vick TD, Brown INT.
For those of us who might of missed it.
Jackson and Jordan Out
Its official that Jackson and Jordan are out. I'm sure we all could of guess Jackson would be out but with Jordan's participation in practice this week - I had strong hopes he would be back in this week vs. the Falcons.
Also - If you guys haven't seen the cartoon of the week on the Eagles website you have to check it out. Its hilarious! I dont know if they are referencing McCoy and Maclins age but they have them as two little babies with baby voices singing.
Hilarious.
CELEK SIGNS EXTENTION TILL 2016
The Eagles announced on Tuesday that they have signed tight end Brent Celek to a six-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2016 season.
Celek is the second Eagle in the last week to sign a contract extension as offensive tackle Winston Justice signed a four-year extension through 2013 last Tuesday.
Eagles Add Pope and Waive Ikegwuono.
The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed CB Geoffrey Pope. To make room on the 53-man roster, the team released CB Jack Ikegwuonu.
Winston Justice gets a 4 yr extension
Looks like Winston Justice has officially redeemed himself from 2007's horrible performance against the Giants. The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Winston Justice to a 4 year contract extension that will having him playing with the Eagles until 2013.
The text I received today stated:
The Eagles have signed OT Winston Justice to a 4-yr contract extension through 2013.
Maclin for Rookie of the Week
Maclin is up for Pepsi's rookie of the week with his game against the San Diego Chargers. He is up against Clay Matthews (GB), Brian Orkapo (WASH), Bernard Scott (CINN) and Beanie Wells (ARZ).
Maclin had 6 receptions for 76 yards and a TD.
Green Fans the Movie
This is me helping out a friend.
My friend Luis and his buddies have created and directed an Eagles movie called Green Fans. It is a dedication to all of us die hard fans out there bleeding green day in and day out. He has been working on this movie for about 3.5 years and it has finally been released.
You can check out the site if you are interested. I figured I would help him spread the word.
GO EAGLES!
Hobbs on IR for Neck Injury
Hobbs to IR
"Ellis Hobbs is having surgery on his neck, season is over .... Curtis is out this week but back in Philly ... Fokou not practicing (illness), Jordan no practice (hyperextended knee), Peters did walkthrough, but no practice (ankle), Westbrook no practice today but will tomorrow (ankle) "
I got the news and tried to find an article about it but found nothing. There was only the above blurb on the Eagles webpage. Looks like They will be placing Hobbs on IR and that gives more reason into why they are looking for another CB.
I meant to post this days ago but I was too busy and I couldn't do it at work. I'm surprised I didn't hear anyone else mention this but when I was watching the game I had to rewind my DVR a couple times to watch this as I was laughing hysterically (it doesn't take much).
Enjoy!
GAITHER ON IR - PICK UP BJ HILL from Saints PS
OMAR GAITHER ON IR
PICKED UP RB B.J. HILL from Saints Practice Squad.
Ok so I know not many people read these fanshots but I didn't want to write a whole post.
