Trades in Round 2?
Packaging picks 59 and 123 could get the Packers up to 54 or so; if they traded 59 and 90 they could go up to 45. I see the latter as extremely unlikely, but the former could happen.
Do you think Ted will move up?
My Packer Draftees 2012
I'm not up for predicting what Ted & Mike will do, but these are a few players at each major position in whom I think the Packers would be very interested. I'm a nerd, and these are my guesses - I'm sure you wont' agree with them all. :-)
Vinny Curry's Pro Day Performance
To put it mildly, he ran a lot better than he did at the Combine, and probably put himself back into first round contention both with the Packers and as a 3-4 OLB. Good news for one of my favored players, who acquitted himself well at the Senior Bowl and might be the sort to attract Packer attention on Draft day.
The Case to Replace Ryan Pickett
I like Ryan Pickett, but I wonder if it's time for him to go. He and Donald Driver are in very similar situations - both respected veterans on the team, but both are expensive, getting on in years and ready to be supplanted by younger players. A major difference is that while Driver's replacements are presumably on the roster now, Pickett's replacement would be through free agency. (Yes, even Ted Thompson uses that from time to time - after all, that's how Ryan became a Packer.)
Draft Day Wishlist
This time of year, many or most of us are amateur GMs (and I do stress amateur), reading up on sites like this one all about our favorite prospects and dreaming about what we'd do if we were in Ted Thompson's seat next week. This is my first FanPost; from one nerdy Green'n'Gold watcher to the rest of you, here are some prospects that would be on my short list if I were running the Packer draft board.
