NHL Standings using Olympics points system
So there's been some talk, particularly with all these overtime & shootout games lately, that the NHL should go to the Olympic-style points system for the standings. gfcaps fan was wondering how it might affect the NHL standings, and I figured it would be an easy thing to run the numbers on. If the NHL switched to the Olympic-style points system a team would get 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an overtime or shootout win, 1 points for an overtime or shootout loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss.
Some folks think this might drastically change the standings, dropping a team multiple places due to that team winning a large chunk of it's games in the "gimmick". I admit I'm one of those, especially when it comes to the Penguins, but I was a bit surprised by how little it affected things.

Best place to eat before a game??
Friday night my wife and I will be attending our first Caps game and we were wondering where's the best place to eat before the game? Preferably we're looking for somewhere near the Phonebooth since we're taking Metro in. We're not too picky on food (although my wife's allergic to seafood and it doesn't agree with me), even somewhere fast-food would be fine, I just have no clue what's down there.
