Mile High Report What's the lowest compensation you would take for Orton?

Obviously, I hope we get a 2nd and/or a starting DT, etc. for Orton; however, in case the market doesn't bend to our collective wishes, I'm interested in what everyone thinks is the minimum we should accept to ship Orton out of town.

For me, that answer would be a 5th or a serviceable (read: 53 man roster worthy) backup DT or OL.

I know that's a lot lower than most think we should/will get, but I think getting rid of Orton would be very close to addition by subtraction given his salary, the overwhelming Pro-Tebow public perception, and Orton's apparent disinterest in accepting any roll other than starter. If we're going to have a messy QB debate, I don't want it to be with a QB that seems (in my humble opinion) incapable of making a play on his own.

That said, I wouldn't accept less than a 5th because if nothing else I'd name Tebow the starter half way though training camp, hand Orton a clipboard, and stick him on the bench as a decent (read: more appealing than Quinn) short-term answer at backup QB.

Anyone else have any thoughts/insight?

Hogs Haven RB Question

Quick question for you "in the know" Washington fans:  What is the current status of the running back situation?  I would assume that Portis would be the hands down starter, given his history in the Shan Man's zone blocking system and his ability as a blocker, but the only information I can find says it is still a battle between LJ (????), the player fromerly known as fast Willie Parker, and maybe Ryan Torain (that I can understand a little given his relative youth and knowledge of the zone blocking system).  Is Portis really so far gone that LJ and FWP are threats to take carries away?

I'm hoping real Redskin fans will have more insight to offer than the general mainstream media which seems to only care about your talented, fat, injured, cry-baby of a DT.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

PS -- As a lifelong Broncos fan, I find myself now also rooting for the Redskins since you not only have my favorite coach, but also a ton of the Glory Years Broncos as coaching interns (TD, Atwater, etc).  Good luck this year!
