Stephen Strasburg Interview

I did a full college preview podcast this week, and was joined by Stephen Strasburg during the hour we were on air. The projected top overall selection shared his thoughts on the Olympics, and how he's balancing performance on the field with the hype surrounding his junior season.

Strasburg comes in at the 40 minute mark, after Kentucky freshman phenom Alex Meyer. Meyer's story also has prospect implications, as he explained just how much the Red Sox did to try and lure him away from Lexington. On this past week's show, I sat down with Aaron Crow for about 10 minutes regarding his decisions in the Nationals negociations. Crow has been pretty silent regarding what happened, so to have him join and us share some of the specifics was pretty cool.

Matt LaPorta Radio Interview

My name is Eric SanInocencio, and I'm the host of Baseball Digest Daily Live, a weekly podcast every Saturday from 12-1 ET.

Back when the CC/Matt LaPorta trade was signed off on, I had the chance to bring Matt in studio with us to describe what turned out to be a crazy week for the top prospect. He spent quite a bit of time with us, just breaking down all the little things that happened as he got uprooted mid-season. I know this interview is a bit old, but I never got the chance to post it on this site, so I figured I'd give all Indians fans a chance to hear from a guy that will likely be a big part of your future (assuming he stops getting beaned by Chinese pitchers).

The inteview begins about 43 minutes into the show, and he joined us for most of our final segment. In addition to LaPorta, I've interview tons of other top prospects (Chris Tillman, Austin Jackson), so I'll leave a link if you'd like to check out any of those shows. He talked about everything happening for him this year at Double A, including the ins and outs of switching organizations. For a kid so young, he really did a good job of explaining his thought process on the hill, and where he's trying to do as he matures as a pitcher. Below is the link to the show.
