Being stats mean more in baseball than any other sport, how or who decides how far the fences are for each stadium? It seems weird that since stats mean so much in baseball, you can have 20ft differences to the same spot of the field in 2 different stadiums. You might hit 20 HR in Yankee stadium to the short porch, but at Wrigley they would be pop outs. Also with Citi Field, they decided to bring the fences in, who has the final say so in that, do they have to run it by MLB, or it all their decision?

First of all I hope everybody got their tickets they wanted as we are making our yearly trip to Wrigley and going to the Giants series in mid May, Im not gonna lie Im excited to see Brian Wilson. But the saturday game May 14th is a 6 pm start which is really weird to me. Unless I missed something recently about the zoning laws thats considered a night game I think cuz the Fox games start at 2:55 or whatever and usually nite games at 7 obviously. I just thought it was a misprint for like a month but maybe not as I seen a promotion for that game being a t-shirt.

I have always wondered how many pitches a starter throws in a complete game or how many more than the official pitches thrown. I would say if you throw a complete game usually 110-125ish mark give or take. But with all the warm up pitches between innings which I believe is 7 idk if every pitcher takes all 7 or goes 100% throwing but pregame warming up usually how many pitches do they throw? Is it safe to say a pitcher assuming is in the 110-125ish area probably throws 150 pitches on that certain day? Im not sure why pitching coaches say a certain pitch count for a guy but dont count in between innings or pregame. Just something I came up with watching pregame of the Giants game tonite and hearing about pitch counts.

Just wondering what everybodys favorite Baseball movie is or if you watch a certain prior game or anything like that to get ready for the new season. I like to watch Chasing October, I know its only a documentary, a few yrs old, and bad memories of the 03 season but I like to watch it and think any yr this could happen and we get this far or get down and not to get to excited to quick. My all time favorite movie would have to be Major League 2. So I'll be watching that here in the next few days along with Chasing October. BTW: THIS IS THE YEAR!!

First of all Happy New Years to everybody. I have a quick question idk how else to find out, but Im THINKING about askin my girl to marry me during the Cardinals series towards the end of April and does anybody know if there is anyway or if its even possible to maybe put it up on the digital sign or Idk what to call it under the scoreboard. Maybe somebody up in the press box just type it in in the middle of a inning. I live in Iowa and im not sure how to go about it. I dont mean to get all mushy on everybody ha but if anybody could give me some advice or info Id really appreciate it. Thank You.

Alright I know its not even 2009 yet and Im lookin ahead to 2010 just cuz im bored today and I know alot of people would not like to see it but I would love it. Rick Ankiel. The Cardinals are lookin to trade him now before he leaves next fall and you dont trade within your division but I think Ankiel would be perfect for this team a stong left handed bat. Amazing arm anything low and in and its gone, he did have some injury issues last year but still. I think if Kosuke is startin in center or right this year and fails I would think Hendry would give Ankiel a really good shot. And forget about him being a Cardinal look at Edmonds and even worse the Cardinals would hate us even more!!

Ok Im all for gettin Jake Peavy, I dont think we need him all that much but there is no such thing as to much good pitching. And I was ok with the names I have heard in a 3 or 4 team trade, but just recently I heard Mark DeRosa could end up a Phily? I hate that part, unless we go after Roberts or somebody like that to play second who do we got to play there? Cedeno and Fontenot are goin to part of the deal more than likely. DeRosa is a huge part of this team maybe Im just over thinking it but I do think we should keep Mark he can play everywhere.

ok I know it sounds totally insane trading with the South Siders but Im just wonderin if anybody else thinks Nick Swisher would be a good fit in center? I have read Kenny Williams is lookin to move him. I know he is not the power left handed bat many are lookin for, but he is still pretty young brings alot of energy to the club, and if all our other options fail like Abreu, Ibanez and others if Swisher would be a option that would help us? Just throwin it out there Im bored and havent wrote for a while

I have read alot of people giving up on this team and thats just crazy! what if the Dodgers go on to win the World Series the Dodgers are a very good team. My opinion Lou just rested his players to much the last week of the season not playin the regulars on a daily basis. As for the roster I would love to bring back Edmonds if not I would like to see us go after the kid from the Twins Carlos Gomez that kid is a stud. Grab a lefty to help the bullpen, in free agency maybe go after a left handed bat to in Bobby Abreu he would help our lineup alot movin Soriano down to 5 spot or around there with Abreu left handed bat between the big boys. GET RID OF HOWRY! I really like how Theriot plays his heart out but if you can go out and get Furcal i say go for it and you can always move Theriot to 2nd and move Derosa to right if you dont get Abreu keep Fontenot and Fukudome bench players. I help Lee his hitting has gone way down he led the world in double plays and every strikeout seemed low and away. just a few thoughts I have had
