So where is the Shawn Michaels storyline going, anyway?

In case you have not been watching Raw for the last few weeks, one of the show's main storylines has been a obsessed Shawn Michales trying to get a rematch with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania in order to end the 'Taker's streak . However Shawn has failed to earn that match and when he is now shown on Raw he seems depressed almost to a scary suicidal level.
Most Wrestling storylines are about the heel being a asshole to the face and the face wanting revenge. But how does a storyline about a depressed wrestler end? Will Shawn try to take his own life ala Hawk on the Titantron in 1998? Will Droz push him off again? Will Shawn make a deal with the devil so he gets a shot at the 'Taker during Mania but only if time is changed so his marriage never existed (It's a comic book joke)? What do you think?
TNA to get rid of its six sided ring?
According to Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com(The site that we will not link to do to it's spyware) . TNA has a regular old four sided ring set up for tonight's PPV (Maybe they cut two sides of the six sided ring off).
Rare old footage of Hogan, Savage, Vince hanging out with NCIF Children
Here we have a somewhat surreal video of kids from the NCIF (National Children's Leukemia Foundation) hanging out with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Vince Mcmahon from before a Raw back in what has to be 1993. The interesting thing is that now all three of those former world champions (remember Vince is both a former WWE champion and a former ECW champion) all hate each other.
A Mooney moment
With the rumors that Sean Mooney is returning to the WWE looking like they are true it is time to step back and look at all the joy Mooney brought to our hearts back in the late 80's early 90's. The Mooney moments if you will.
As you can see here Mooney did not take any shit from anyway. You can tell that the Undertaker feared him. Just take a gander at the badass look on Mooney's face when interviewing the Undertaker.
Get ready to EVOLVE!!! with Gabe Sapolsky, Sal Hamaouri and Davey Richards
via dgusa.tv
As reported on WrestlingObserver.com the wacky trio of Gabe Sapolsky, Sal Hamaouri and Davey Richards will be starting a new promotion to likely compete with ROH. Check out this hip and edgy EVOLVE video after the jump
Lou Albano now in hospice care
Sad news to report from the newest issue of the Wrestling Observer: Dave Meltzer has reported that legendary manager Captain Lou Albano is now in hospice care.
Jim Cornette's role with ROH
According to the Wrestling Observer site Cornette will serve as television executive producer of ROH's HDnet show . As of now Cornette will not be booking ROH. (It would interesting if he did book ROH and booked the TV show like early 2000's OVW that Meltzer always loved talking about)
Jim Cornette returns to ROH
Tonight at ROH's show in Manhattan, Jim Cornette returned to the promotion after being fired by TNA. According to The Wrestling Observer website Cornette had this to say about Vince Russo.
Sarah Palin will give Barack Obama a lap dance on the steps of the capital before I get behind Vince Russo
Linda McMahon for Senate TV ad.
This is really happening. Not a dream! Not a imaginary story! Vince McMahon's wife is really planing on becoming a US Senator.
Bret Hart coming back to WWE?
Dave Meltzer has reported in this weeks WON that Bret Hart has been in talks with WWE about making some return appearances. This is what Meltzer had to say about it.
Bret Hart has been in talks with WWE about doing some business, which played a part in wanting to refresh the whole Montreal thing, in case he agrees to come in. I think talks started when Vickie Guerrero gave notice. There is nothing on the table as far as expecting something happening imminently or anything agreed to, but he has been open to the idea of returning as a weekly storyline character for the first time since 1997. There have been talks for years in this direction and in 2006 Vince told the writing team they he and Bret were going to do a street fight on a PPV but Bret at the time was saying that he wasn’t going to wrestle and it never happened. I think that was the deal where Michaels formed the tag team with God, as the original plan was Michaels & Bret vs. Vince & Shane, and they were more confident than ever Bret would do it, but he wouldn’t.
"Hey we could not get Bret Hart for the PPV let's see what God is doing"
Lacey Von Erich to TNA
It seems that Lacey Von Erich will not be going to Hulkamania (or Wrestlicious) after all. According to the Wrestling Observer/F4W website, the daughter of the late Kerry Von Erich has signed with TNA.
Smackdown Recap staring Scott Armstrong!~
Batista comes to the ring and says that he wanted to be on Smackdown and Smackdown is the number one brand .(Oh noes!) Jericho interrupts and is all acting like a heel (like heels tend to do) till Batista attacks him and we have our main event match for later in the night.
In the back Jericho tells the Big Show that he is "The best at what he does but what he does is not very good". Just like that other guy from Canada, Wolverine
Coming up a interview with WWE Referee Scott Armstrong ! (They can say the Ref's name now?) They better play the Armstrong family WCW music.
John Morrison pinned Mike Knox after the Starship Pain. Then Morrison calls Ziggler "Mr. Ziggells" sounds like someone from one of those "Mr Happy" books.
We go to the Armstrong interview. In it we learn from him that Armstrong's family is the reason for his season. We also learn that Scott was ordered to help Punk beat the Undertaker last Sunday. Yo Scott that whole "we were just following orders" bit would not help you if you were on trial at Nuremberg.
What the pundits are saying about Linda McMahon
In a post by Bryan Curtis at The Daily Beast, legendary wrestling manager Jim Cornette does not seem happy at the prospect of Linda McMahon, the wife of WWE frontman Vince McMahon, joining " The world's greatest deliberative body"
“The idea that Vince McMahon could be in the vicinity of one of our lawmaking bodies just frightens me,” says former wrestling announcer Jim Cornette
The Beast makes the case that McMahon is a serious candidate for office, running down her resume. It was Linda who took the title of WWE CEO in 1994, after Vince was indicted on federal drug charges for distributing steroids (he was acquitted); Linda who calmed nervous investors after their 1999 IPO; Linda who oversaw massive campaigns like the WWE’s “Smackdown Your Vote!” registration drive, which culminated in Barack Obama and John McCain recording appeals last year on Monday Night RAW. McMahon used her spiffed-up image to gain a seat on Connecticut’s state board of education in 2009, despite the wails of one state representative who accused her of “harm[ing] our youth and society and our quality of life.” Not everyone is so sure. Action Packed Ben Smith makes the inevitable comparison to a certain California governor's rise to power. He wonders if the circumstances are really all that similar: "The broader question -- and an interesting one -- is whether there's space in East Coast Republicanism for the kind of unapologetic embrace of sex and violence that Arnold Schwarzenegger's past brought to the governorship of California. (McMahon, of course, doesn't have Arnold's field-clearing glamor, and is a longshot by any standard.)" Stay Tuned Chris Cillizza gives a solid general overview of the current status of McMahon's entry into the race, highlighting the main pros and cons: "It remains to be seen how serious a candidate McMahon will be and how her candidacy will affect the current field. Her ability to self-fund forces the other candidates to take her seriously but her association with a company that has built its success on excess will be a major liability." You can see a summary of what people in the political punditocracy world think about Linda McMahon's run for Chris Dodd's Senate seat at the new Atlantic Wire website here.
Linda McMahon running for Chris Dodd's US senate seat

As reported in a million other places Linda McMahon will be seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Senator Chris Dodd next year. As hilarious as that all is Dodd is in trouble and Linda has a lot of money to spend so who knows. What I want to know is who will L.Brent Bozell vote for?
Lacey Von Erich to be on Hulk Hogan's Hulkamania tour.
Lacey Von Erich posted on her Twitter page that she will be joining Hulk Hogan's Hulkamania tour in Australia. Here is what she said about joining Hogan's tour.
'I will be with wrestling with Holk Hogan in Australia for Thanksgiving this year. I wonder how big the turkey will be? lol
Jeff Hardy: A Trending Topic on Twitter
Thanks to his arrest Jeff Hardy is now one of the treading topics on Twitter. And thanks to Twitter I found this video:
Ideas for Hulk Hogan's new promotion "Hulkamania."

-The lighting should be made so that the whole arena is in a red and orange glow.
-When not wrestling Hogan should sit on a throne near the ring and bark orders to people. Similar to Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat..
- During the bouts Brooke Hogan's music should be playing in the arena at all times.
- The only food sold in the arena is pasta from Hulk Hogan's old Pasta-Mania restaurant .
- When a wrestler comes down the ramp going to the ring he must meet Hogan (who like I said is siting on a throne) and kiss his feet.
-Before each match starts both wrestlers must give a testimonial about how Hulkamania has changed them for the better.
-The first tour should be booked around a Hogan/Brian Knobbs feud (redo the Andre angle with Knobbs) and a brutal hardcore feud with Brutus Beefcake and Evad Sullivan.
-Each show ends with Hogan talking about how he slammed Andre (or Andor to those in the know) the Giant at Wrestlemania 3 and how Andre died about 20 minutes later.

Check it out here (It looks really good). It sucks that we will not see Rampage and Evans for a while.
Gina Carano to star in Steven Soderbergh spy thriller
According to a blog by Mike Fleming on the Variety website Gino Carano will star in Steven Soderbergh's spy thriller "Knockout," . Fleming also wrote about the plot of "knockout"
"Knockout" casts Carano as a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is given a second chance to use her skills for constructive purposes. The film is a closer cousin to "La Femme Nikita" and "Kill Bill" than "Million Dollar Baby," in that it doesn’t take place in the fight ring. Rather, Soderbergh considers the film as a flat out action film in the James Bond mold, and will shoot in locations around the world that include Ireland, Turkey and the U.S.
Foley's Uncle Willie promo
Less remembered among Mick Foley's heel ECW promos, in this interview Foley talks about the moral ethics of dropping the A-Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagaski and then somehow ties that in with trying to beat up Tommy Dreamer. After the jump.
The best storyline in Wrestling today.
Every week the Smackdown writers seems to come up with another great CM Punk/Jeff Hardy related angle. This week they had Punk come out as Jeff Hardy. The great thing about is the crowd slowly figuring out that they have been had! You can see a video of the angle after the jump. Plus check out the kid at 01:07, That kid (and his hair) is NOT happy with Punk.
Smackdown recap for 8/4/09
Welcome to my Smackdown recap now in glorious classic IWC CRZ/Todd Martin form.
1. Jeff Hardy comes out maybe to talk about how his spirit says that he can fly (But much like Icarus when he tried to fly last week he was the loser but unlike Icarus Jeff was never on the Captain N cartoon) But wait… That is not the Jeff Hardy we know and love it is the dastardly heel CM Punk dressed as Jeff. It is really funny to see the crowd slowly figure this out. Punk cuts another great promo and then Matt Hardy comes out and attacks Punk for what he did to Jeff last week. ( the man that Matt tried to murder last year).
Backstage Punk is accusing Matt of being "hopped up" on the same things his brother is always on (Punk accusing everybody of being high is becoming one of the best parts of current WWE programming) Blah blah Long makes Punk vs Hardy for the main event of the show.
Old Wrestling news story from the early 80's
Check out this video from the very early 80's of some sort of news report on Wrestling (With interviews with Gorilla Monsoon and some guy named Terry the Hulk Boulder) where they are snarking on it heavy. Does anybody know where this video came from?
CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go 177
On this week's episode of the CHIKARA podcast, clips are shown of Incoherence (Delirious, Hallowicked & Frightmare) vs. Masters Of A Thousand Holds (Mike Quackenbush, Johnny Saint & Jorge Rivera) plus The UnStable (Vin Gerard, STIGMA & Colin Delaney) vs. The Cold Front (Al Snow, Glacier & D-Lo Brown) from the CHIKARA King of Trios 2009, Night 1
Sheiky, New Jack & Honky discuss tonights Raw host Dusty Rhodes
I think Sheiky, New Jack and the Honky Tonk Man should have a talk show where they talk about the major important issues of the day.
Former WCW superstar makes cameo on "Smackdown after the bell"
Well the rapmaster PN News was always a superstar to me anyway. He even gives us a "Yo baby yo baby yo"
See the video after the jump.
Smackdown random thoughts
- It is kind of sad that the Punk/Hardy feud is ending. It is by far the best angle in wrestling today.
-Punk starts to go on a rant about how he does not take pain killers. this freaking rules it.
-Now Punk starts calling the Undertaker "Evil" I am looking forward to see how this feud will go. What kind of promos will Punk cut on the Deadmen? Will the Taker start talking about how he hates the straight edge lifestyle?
- So Punk is the first straight edge world champion? Say it ain't so Stan Stasiak.
- Jeff Hardy comes out to a big pop and says "You are once again preaching as if the three most important words are "just say no" but the three most important words are 'STEEL CAGE MATCH!!" Okay Jeff sure....... ....
- Jeff agrees to a career ending match with Punk since he is likely high on something or other.
WWE Smackdown results
