After his great performance on Saturday (Complete Game 3 hitter), I was drawn to these videos by the White Sox radio team. Rays pitcher Andy Sonnanstine is a ping pong freak. He has got some pretty sick moves thanks to him being double jointed. Enjoy and have a great off day because I have a feeling that Angel-wise this could be a pretty intense week.

Vladdy's batting helmet

So this was in Paul Lakus daily uniwatch column today:

Tytus Abrahmason notes that Vlad Guerrero was wearing his usual tar-gunked helmet in the 1st inning of Wednesday night’s Angels/Royals game but wore a clean, shiny helmet for the rest of the game. Vlad hit into a disputed double play in that 1st inning plate appearance and was pretty upset afterward, leading to Tytus to wonder, “Could it be that he bashed his helmet to pieces during a 1st inning tantrum in the dugout?”

As you can see by clicking on the images, Vlad's helmet when from gunky to brand new. I was wondering if anyone at the game noticed Vlad extra angry in the dugout.

Halos Hats

Well my current Halo hat is about to be demoted to work-out hat as it has become extremely worn and faded. It was the basic fitted red design with Angel logo. Anyways, I am looking into ordering a new one and was wondering if anyone across Halos Heaven had an opinion as I have narrowed it down to 3 models.

1. A new take on the classic 70s logo.

2. Navy and worn down, but I kinda like the rips.

3. A finally the BP hat. The blue and red look is a cool throwback look.

Any suggestions?

Closer Francisco Rodriguez said last week he has had persistent pain in his left ankle since spraining it last August on a follow-through. Rodriguez has continued to aggravate it on his follow-through ever since. Then, Rodriguez injured his right ankle Saturday before he ever took the mound. Rodriguez said he was coming off the field at the end of batting practice and slipped on the dugout steps. The ankle was clearly a problem Monday night. He blew his first save of the season and faced just four batters, giving up two doubles and walking two before he was removed. "It's just real painful," Rodriguez said of the sprain to his right ankle. "I couldn't get (any) balance on my back leg at all. I was doing it all with my arm. My fastball was cutting this much (hands a foot apart) at the end because I had no power in my legs. As soon as I lift my leg, all my pressure is on my ankle and I couldn't push."

I have also read that he will get looked at sometime today. Hopefully, the news is good for the club as I have a feeling that it could be a serious injury.

I have been seeing these across the different Sports Nation blogs and was wondering if it was something that we here at Halos Heaven might want to look at during or after games.

I think the whole percentage chance of winning is pretty cool and I like how the key plays are pointed out. Damn Vladdy with that double play!

Any thoughts?

This is my entry in the MLB: 08 The Show contest. I thought it is so cool to see that Angels play the Tribe in a totally different environment. Yeah it was an hour and a half drive in the snow, but it was totally awesome.

Hey All,

Been trying to get the team site to load, but kept getting crashes. I finally got it to partially load and was able to see a brand new layout. Looks pretty nice and more modernized. I'm digging the influx of more and more red.

However, I'll hold off on overall impressions when the thing finally loads.

EDIT: Okay, so they page loaded. It looks a lot cleaner, but it seems like it is just re-organized to be more horizontal. Oh and the bar of players at the top is gone. That kinda stinks.
