Bloody Elbow Betting Game: UFC Fight Night 20 Results
~ UFC Fight Night 20 Top Performers ~
I'm touched that FightLinker's "jackals" find being repeatedly and without change below us such a desirable position. Anyway, in the run up for this event it was my stated desire to stay in 2nd place. We have in spite of that slipped to 4th. Fear not, however, as we have Ubernoober as some sort of salve. His 85 points earned through correct fight predictions net him the bronze jpeg out of the 3618 on MMA Playground making at least 1 prediction on UFC Fight Night 20. Moopwontplay was tied for 4th on the event with 82 points. Congrats.
As for the wagering side of things, termin8r199 beat out the rest of his BE competition with $8,100 "earned" on this event. $7,055 of said total came off a $1,500 Maynard/ Simpson/ Story parlay. This puts termin8r199 at $11,163 for the season after 2 events, just 10 fake dollars short from yngjzy's $11,173.

I ended up earning an impressive $126 fake dollars on UFC 108. Where should I put this coinage? Tell me in the comments section as you look over the MMA Playground lines for our next event UFC Fight Night 20. That event is on a Monday, so perhaps making your picks and wagers before the football weekend would be advisable. Let's do well and stay in second place.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game: UFC 108 Evans vs. Silva Results
We did well on UFC 108 while FightLinker pulls guard to play bottom position in a familiar last place. Our picking percentage for the event was a Super Heavyweight division (60+ members) leading 69.2%. Well done and keep it up.
Our individuals deserving praise for the event come in the form of Yekop and Tayman. Yekop led our camp with 84 points earned through correct fight predictions. Those 84 points are good enough to place him in 25th out of the 4335 competing in the event on MMA Playground. The only fight missed by Yekop was Sam Stout vs. Joe Lauzon, as he picked a first round submission by J-Lau which never happened. I feel that particular pain.
Concerning the wagering side of things, Tayman earns $3,682 on the event. Most of this fake money comes off a $300 Miller/ Munoz/ Stout parlay. Tayman placed an admirable 6th out of the 4375 wagering digital coin on 108. Congratulations all around. The next event and 2nd of the 10 event season is UFC Fight Night 20 January 11th. Don't forget. More top players from our camp are displayed in the extended entry.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game Season Opener: UFC 108
Last Season's Top Performers:
Pride might have been a factor in my less than generous evaluation of our opposing camps during the previous season of our betting game here at Bloody Elbow. Pride and the data which in fact supported such a low evaluation. It has, however, become apparent that the inchoate rabble can to my surprise coalesce around a stronger, more pick-savvy member of their crew, creating a whole not seen with just a look at their rather plain parts. Fear not, for we have our own inchoate rabble to steer correctly onward (no offense), being as we are the largest fight camp on MMA Playground. The best of us as proofed by a ten event season performance are above shown, if you are of the mind to be so steered. In short, beat FightLinker and by extension MMA4Real. No pressure. (Apparently MMA4Real chickens out. My hit list is thirteen objects the poorer.)
In a related side-note: my Canadian winners, Pooman and termin8r199, if I don't have both your address and phone number I cannot send you your prizes to your foreign country.
Will there be prizes offered for this season? I don't know. I won't be here at the end of it and that gives more reason for my Canadian winners to reply sooner. UFC 108 lines are in the extended portion, so pre-game it up. Check out the Betting Game Primer if you are new to this and wish to become more like us.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game: Season Results
The season is over and the period where our competition tries to string together cogency in an attempt to gloat has begun. We were out performed by MMA4Real in many areas, even though we had superb individuals who put to shame their highest achievements. The transition from this season to the next will be trying to make those individual performers many. The GED Gentry over at FightLinker performed ably and it is only through our early strong events, in which they were not yet competing, that we were as a season able to nudge them out. Our results, however, are more clearly out classed by the top of our division. And we should do well to focus ourselves on them, instead of middling around with the FightLinkers of the world.
Anyway, prizes go to the six shown above. Phantasma475 edges out Pooman by only 4 points on the season scoreboard. This nets Phantasma the signed Mauricio "Shogun" Rua Round 5 collectible and a Pride hat and leaves Pooman with just a Pride hat.Termin8r199 Gets a UFC 43/ 44 DVD pack.
For wagers, sandbox23 beats all with $72,943 in earnings and claims the UFC 100 t-shirt signed by 15 MMA notables and the Octagon photography book by Kevin Lynch. AlteredJerm takes in an unsigned UFC 100 t-shirt and some assorted things. This leaves !claw with a UFC 49/ 50 DVD pack.
Congratulations goes to everyone noted. If you have been so noted, contact me (info. on sidebar ->) and we can get your mailing details squared away. Thanks to everyone for playing. UFC 108 starts the next ten event season.
Note: For UFC 107: DuRuffio claimed our top honors with 88 points off correct fight predictions. That total is tied for 10th out of all who competed on MMA Playground for the event. AlteredJerm lead our wager portion with $9,707, earned mostly through a $5,000 Struve, Penn, Florian parlay. Congrats.
Bloody Elbow Betting Game Season Finale: UFC 107
Our camp performance for last week's TUF finale sucked so much we should not cover it here. What we should cover is a thanks to all who have played with or joined the Bloody Elbow camp over the course of this season. You have sustained us as the largest camp on MMA Playground, even though our performance does not indicate this season we will be the best in ability.
The bright side for TUF 10 came through, individually, with AlteredJerm on the wager side of things, earning $9,349 on the event. Most of said earnings came off a $1,000 Ferguson, Hamill, Nelson parlay. AlteredJerm's total after 9 events, $13,750, is good enough for the camp's 3rd place, a spot which will net a UFC 49/ 50 DVD pack and a Stub Hub mousepad if Jerm can hold on. More information on the prize tree and regulations here. Sandbox23 is looking like the one to take home the signed UFC 100 t-shirt.
On the points side, DJRokyManson and Bambergen tied with 56 points earned through correct fight predictions. Phantasma475, however, will not be denied and looks to take home the signed "Shogun" Rua action figure.
But all or most of it can change with this last event, tomorrow, at UFC 107. Playground lines are in the comment section.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game: The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale
~ Camp Statistics After 8 of 10 Events ~
Alright, monkeys, with only two events left to go in the season, we here at BE are being bested by the baker's dozen over at MMA4Real. It is really kind of comical if one stops to think about it. This is in comparison to when one thinks about FightLinker. In that instance, instead of a flirtation with comic relief, one just gets sad.
-- Anyway, those in top contention for the Points side of our prize tree are:
phantasma475 with 483 points.
sdpads24 with 444 points.
marcell20 with 436 points. The points race is the tightest of the two, so make those picks.
-- Those in top contention for the Wager side of our prize tree are:
sandbox23 with $84,961 in fake money.
shatto1 with $67,001.
brooklynbadass (DJ Soma) with $31,331.
An honorable mention goes to our current 4th place member in wager earnings, me, who is really going to play up the fact that he performs better than most of you. TUF 10 lines in comments section.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game: UFC 106 Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin II Results
I do not know how I am supposed to coat this one with sugar. There was not one area, except having a larger active population than any other fight camp on MMA Playground, in which we bested our opponents for UFC 106. The GED Gentry over at Fightlinker managed to end on the positive side of earnings, while MMA4Real earned an average of $200 to our average loss of $200. We were, however, over 50% in our picking percentage for UFC 106, which is something that could not be said about our 105 performance.
The BE personal performance award for earnings goes to aaronb who gained $3,948 on the event. $3,293 of said earnings came off a $500 Sadollah, Saunders, Sotiropoulos parlay. Aaronb is 17th in camp BE over 8 events with a total of $5,645. Sandbox23 is in 1st after 8 events with $84,961.
SmytheX is our member with most points awarded through correct fight predictions. 66 points for Ortiz vs. Griffin II brings SmytheX's season total to 372. Phantasma475 still holds the top seat with 483 points with two events to go in the Playground season.

Another week, another event. So join already.
Rodriguez over at Fightlinker somehow thinks he is capable of leading a charge against Bloody Elbow, the biggest betting camp on MMA Playground and vanguard of a new cultural innovation. This notion is immediately refuted by a personal performance which results in $260 spendable, fake dollars, a loss of $740 off the starting amount, and a 57% picking percentage for fights. One can compare this to BE's camp leader who manages $27,582 in phony cash and a picking percentage of 70%. As for the MMA4Real, we are tied or nearly tied as a camp in the judged criteria after 7 events, which, of course, really pains me to write or admit.
We still have time to step our performance with the three events remaining in the season. Beat MMA4Real. Destroy Fightlinker.

~ UFC 105 Camp Results ~
While that was definitely not our best event, there is still the chance for us to finish out the season strong. UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin will be the next of the final three events. And that will be, of course, next Saturday. I have to admit that Fightlinker is not doing as poorly as I had initially guessed. Perhaps they will increase their average wager earnings to $15.11 next card. Can't wait until they play for a full season when the smack talk really counts.
And our discussion of competition brings us to MMA4Real and the ethics of a car wreck: does one drive by and spectate silently or is there an obligation to stay and call for help?
Brooklynbadass (DJ Soma) was the top earner from team Bloody Elbow with $13,603 earned, most of it coming off a straight bet on Dan Hardy. That is good for 16th place out of 4376 on the event. Brooklynbadass is in 3rd place in camp BE after 7 events with a total of $40,637. Sandbox23 is in first with $89,866.
As for points earned off correct fight predictions, termin8r199 scored the most from our camp with 71. He is in 5th place in camp BE after 7 events with 401 total points. Phantasma475 is holding on to first with 448 total points. Full results are in the extended entry.

Apparently, if I don't demean my opposition at every opportunity it as a sign of weakness. Well, MMA4Real, I just merc'ed your face. By myself. My 95 points awarded through correct fight predictions was good enough for 6th out of 5450 on the event. It was also the BE camp leading point score.
I made more fake money, $19,513, than any from your team as well, with most of it coming off of a Machida, Kingsbury, Tibau parlay. Edging me out for camp wagering gold on the event, however, was brooklynbadass who earned a total of $20,609. A Bader, Sonnen, Velasquez parlay at $2,025 netted $12,808 of that total. Brooklynbadass is ranked 5th in camp earnings with $27,034 and 4 events left in the season.
Fight Linker made mention of a "curb-stomp" on the "pompous" Bloody Elbow players. An average gain of $60 on the event will temper that enthusiasm going forward. They also underperformed in picking percentage and points in comparison to MMA Playground's biggest camp, Bloody Elbow.

I will wage this war alone if need be. This indignation regarding our current position comes not in any part from a particular prowess shown by our competition in this game; it is resultant solely from our own inabilities to capitalize and the chances we have missed. The smallest personal joy they feel from this tiniest of things is something I find unacceptable. Half of the season is now over. Let us finally get started.
And now Fightlinker has joined the Playground game with a camp of their own. Good luck with all that I suppose.
Johnnychimpo is our camp leader for UFC 103 on points with 79 awarded through correct fight predictions. Those 79 points are good enough for 58th out of the 4820 who participated in the event. Johnnychimpo has 236 total points for the season; phantasma475, however, has the camp leading 327 with 5 events remaining.
In terms of fake cash, ABS363 earned $5,833 from a $1,915 straight bet on Paul Daley. That is good for 30th out of the 4857 who bet on the event. At mid-season ABS363 has totaled $7,748 in earnings. Sandbox23 leads the camp with $114,936.

Bloody Elbow Betting Game: UFC 103 and Results for UFC Fight Night 19
~ Statistics by Camp for UFC Fight Night 19 ~
MMA4Real has come up with the ingenious plan of having 17 of their 18 members not compete. This leaves their remaining member the ability to pull their average in screwed directions. Bravo. As for us, I do not know what we are doing. UFC 103 Playground lines are in the extended entry.
Bringing home the camp gold for most points awarded through correct fight predictions is Beren. His 75 points is good enough for #28 out of the 4719 issuing picks on MMA Playground for Fight Night 19.
The camp's top earner from wagers is Shatto1, whose $51,638 in winnings comes from a $21,614 parlay on Condit, Maynard, and Quarry; and $21,615 on a straight bet on Maynard. That was the second highest payout coming off the Wednesday event Playground-wide and puts Shatto1 in 5th over the entire season with a total of $94,867 in fake bucks. Congrats to both.

~ Season Statistics for 3 of 10 Events ~

If you are not signed up for our Bloody Elbow betting ensemble before UFC 103 this Saturday you are not eligible for this season's prizes. UFC Fight Night 19 and UFC 103 will be the 4th and 5th events of the betting season, a make-or-break week for a good deal of us. Is sandbox23 out of reach with $124,687 in virtual cash? Someone will have to pry the wager leader's prize, a shirt signed by 16 MMA notaries, out of his fake, dead hands. Of these notaries, many are featured this week in bouts of their very own: Roger Huerta, Phillipe Nover, Efrain Escudero, Sam Stout, and Nate Quarry. That is convenient.
Participation also brings the additional benefit of seeing MMA4Real search for answers as to why they manage to find themselves unqualified to challenge the betting prowess of a real league. Note that MMA Playground betting lines for UFC Fight Night 19 are in the comment section. Lines for UFC 103 this Saturday will only be available after the Fight Night.

MMA in Numbers: WEC 42 Update

An unsettling statistic: 8 of the past 15 WEC events have been held out of The Joint in Las Vegas, Nevada. For the most recent in the facility, WEC 42 which featured the headline of Miguel Torres vs. Brian Bowles, 1,640 paid entry. 442, or 21% of all 2,080 in audience, were given complimentary tickets. 870 tickets were neither sold nor given away. Ignoring the promotional side of things, whether or not profit can be made in a situation such as this, one must allow that 2,080 is not a sufficient viewing party for some of the best athletes and competitors in the field.
In terms of ratings WEC 42 took in an estimated 670,000 viewers which matches WEC 37 as the high water mark for events not featuring Urijah Faber. Faber vs. Pulver I holds the WEC record with over 1.5 million viewers. Torres also participated on that card against Yoshiro Maeda and looks to be the number two draw for the promotion after "The California Kid".
Going forward, WEC 43 is newly scheduled for October 10th under the headline of Donald Cerrone vs. Ben Henderson without DirecTV. The last events not featuring Faber or Torres were Brown vs. Garcia and Condit vs. Miura, drawing 530k and 423k respectively.
