I love the Kings above all else. I also am a fan of the A's and the 49ers. I transplanted to Colorado in 1998, but when it comes to sports my heart still resides in California.

I work in financial services, I'm a freelance sportswriter, freelance comedy writer, and karaoke superstar.

Sacramento Kings National Basketball Association Team

San Francisco 49ers National Football League Team

Colorado Buffaloes NCAA Men's Football Division 1A Team

North Carolina Tar Heels NCAA Men's Basketball Division 1 Team

I’m so hard on myself, I think I could be doing better. I set a goal to average a double-double throughout the season and I had it, but I’ve been going up and down. I want to be more consistent and be an automatic double-double each game. To achieve that I have to get through some adversity with foul trouble and injuries[.]

I consider myself a man of the people.  I thought to myself the other day, what are people craving?  What does the average Kings fan feel like they are lacking.  Like Iverson to Philly, the answer came to me.  The people want an article about Tyreke Evans, our rookie that has had absolutely nothing written about him recently.

Much is being made of Tyreke Evans' stats.  Scoring, rebounding, assists, Evans has been filling the stat sheets.  It's been quite impressive.  As the recent fan shot showed, the stats have compared well to other NBA stars.

But equally impressive, and lost amongst our fantasy sports existence, has been Tyreke's defense.  I'm not going to try to explain Tyreke's defense to you, because that would go completely against the rest of what I'm going to discuss.  I'm going to explore the potential crossroads that Tyreke faces.

As I sit here watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade, I can't help but wish that it was dangerously windy in New York.  It always make the parade more interesting.

But I also can't help but reflect on how enjoyable the beginning of this season has been.  As I read the recap from last night's game, I couldn't help but to think of a few Kings things I'm thankful for.

Tyreke Evans twisted his ankle in practice today. X-rays taken were negative. He is questionable for the Kings-Knicks game on Wednesday.

The recent meteoric rise of the Kings to a record of 4-4 got me thinking.  In lietothegirls' entertaining post, pookeyguru made a comment about how there is no reason to believe that Paul Westphal has gotten through to the team this quickly.  My first thought was that pookey's statement was probably accurate.  Luckily for you, the reader, I have never allowed a reasonable idea prevent me from exploring a tangent in the complete opposite direction.

What follows is an unscientific exploration of ideas that cannot be proven true or false, only argued endlessly about.  I figure a few of us might be nostalgic for these types of arguments now that the offseason is over.

Preview: Kings at Hornets

Before we get to the preview for your Sacramento Kings versus the New Orleans Hornets, I think I must first make an important public service announcement regarding the season opener:

Remain_calm_medium

We've been through one game.  It did not go how we had hoped it might.  But it was one game.  This game is the second game.  After this, we have 80 more.  You'd think we be able to handle a loss a little better after we all endured last season, but apparently we still need to talk a few folks away from the edge.

Let me say that this will still be a long season for us as fans of this franchise.  We'll enjoy the highs, we'll look for silver linings in our losses.  Just remember that we cannot live and die with each win or loss.  All signs point to the idea that we will experience more losses than wins this season.  Look for small victories where we can.

Along those lines, was anybody not a little bit inspired with the way Casspi played last night?  Look for those little things.  Those are the aspects of the game that we can enjoy, even in tough losses.

All that being said, yesterday's recap thread was incredible.  Great discussion all around.  Kudos to everyone.  That's the sort of thing that makes me proud to be a member of this site.

Now, on to the preview of tonight's game.
