I was wondering if anyone had any information about Bartolo Colon. I was thinking about where he was doing his "rehab" and how I hadn't seen anything written in the papers. Yesterday, in the post-game, they mentioned that he was in Arizona working on stuff. Does anyone know more? Is Colon just working on his stuff and conditioning or is he recovering from a real injury? I figure that with Clayton Richard probably on a short leash these days, Colon's status becomes important again even though I know they have Poreda ready to go.

Hey Guys. I was working all day yesterday and missed the action. Luckily, the Bears had a bye, but I wanted to see what Grossman had to say on the ESPN pregame show that he was co-hosting for the day. Can anyone post a quick summary of what he discussed regarding the team and his performance last Monday? Thanks

In the rocky mountain news, they're claiming bobby has lost up to 10 mph off his fastball. i haven't seen much written about him this spring, other than he's out of shape, and i haven't been able to watch any spring training games.

has anyone see him pitch and noticed a drop in his speed? i heard on espn 1000 that ozzie said bobby was obviously out of shape, but he didn't mention anything about his velocity. also, has he gotten his curve over yet?

Fizer signed

With room at the end of their roster, the Sonics plan to use the rest of the season as an extended audition for minor-league basketball players. Seattle signed Marcus Fizer, who played with the Austin Toros in the NBA developmental league, to a 10-day contract on Wednesday and will re-sign Noel Felix to another 10-day deal next week.

-- Seattle Times

I don't know how to use html to make it look nice and neat up there, but the point is that the shots/minute race just got tighter!

White Sox Ticket Sales

Ok, so after doing a bit of searching on the white sox website, i reached a few conclusions.

they are not selling any more 27 game plans

full season ticket plans for 2 seats - best available is bleachers on lower bowl and for upper deck, past first and third base. this means that when tickets go sale friday, the only thing available in the lower bowl will be in the bleachers and in the upper deck it will be on corners. of course, any season ticket holders got to buy tickets beforehand so all the good games will be bought up and there will be even less tickets.

it's going to be hard to get good seats this year. looks like the upper deck for me. unless they stumble out of the gate. then i will buy them from bandwagon fans on the cheap.

I was wondering if my conclusions from my season ticket searches were correct. if so, then the figure we saw earlier of 20,000 season tickets sold is a low number. also, how do they take into account partial season ticket plans when counting number of season tickets sold? thanks

Forgot to post this when it occurred, about 10 days ago but...

I was driving home along Grand Avenue when I had to stop for a car to park in front of me. As the guy got out of the car, I knew that he seemed familiar. Now I was at a stop light and kept watching this guy get out of his big Hummer or Mercedes Box SUV thing and then I realized it was Fizer. I immediately rolled down the window and yelled "You Suck, Fizer!" due to force of habit. He looked at me, the light turned green, and I drove away.

I don't think he's on an NBA roster anymore, but it made me think about what a horrible pick that was and how badly Krause got screwed when whatever deal he had made fell through. Reminds me of the Bears drafting Benson even though a solid but unspectacular Jones is already in the fold. Does anyone know if there was a specific reason other than poor play that no one is taking a chance on him?

Here's another Fizer story

One more Fizer story that sums up his career: CRG and I were at a game and had seats close to the Bulls bench, where Fizer was parked most of the 03-04 season. Somewhere in the middle of the game, maybe halftime, Fizer got up and took his headband off and looked around for an aodring fan to give it to. A guy next to us yelled "No one wants it, Fizer!" in the dead silence that was (and still largely is) the cavernous UC. I think our whole section exploded in laughter and Fizer probably sat back down and had a good laugh with E-Rob about how much money they were making for doing nothing.
