My thoughts on Nigel Carr
There seems to be a 50/50 split here and let me say I see both sides. Let's first all agree that we did is incredibly stupid, immature, and selfish. It shows an extreme lack of self respect and human decency. Now with all that being said, the one's on here that want to throw the book at the kid I believe you are wrong. It is your opinion and I support your God given right to have one.
Now let's look at the facts. Many kids at other schools all over the nation have very similar arrests and rarely are they thrown off their respective teams for their "1st" OFFENSE.
It will probably be lessened to a misdemeanor since it is his first offense. Now I absolutely agree he should be punished and then put on a short leash. A suspension of 1 to 3 games seems appropriate once all the facts come out and considering it's his first offense. Dunlap got a damn DUI and could have theoretically killed someone and he was gone for only one game.
You don't just throw these kids to trash heap because they will be even more of a problem in society and to the tax payer (US). At this stage in his life he certainly can be rehabilitated and moved back onto the yellow brick road. If it was any of us we would want a 2nd chance. What if it was your son or brother or friend??? You would certainly hope he admits his faults, learns his lesson and be given the chance to prove himself worthy. I say click your heels three times and back to Kansas we go for a fresh start.
It's going to be a Three Headed Monster in FL
Fellow Seminoles, let's get used to the fact that UF isn't going anywhere. Even with all the turnover on their staff and the whoile Urban thing, they are still pulling in top blue chippers for recruits. The UA game proved that to me once and for all. The uf recruits were making big plays and they picked up two huge commits. I thought too they could take a few steps back, but their situation is nothing like ours was. I don't need to go into detail why. They are here to stay. We just have to outrecruit them and more importantly, execute and beat them wher it counts...ON THE FIELD!!!
The good news is FSU is back with the coaching staff Jimbo is putting together and he is bringing the type of recruits we are accustomed to pulling in. FSU, UF, and MIAMI will all be top 10 type teams collectively in the very near future. You will see all there programs battling for National Champaionships year in and year out. It will be much like it was in the late 80's and the 90's. The BIG # will be battling for a National Championship every year and frankly....that was when college football was most exciting.
