Priests who are fans of the San Diego Padres
Please excuse this post if it sounds insensitive as that is not the intention. FSN Rocky Mountain will be in San Diego next week for the Rockies vs. Padres series and are looking for a priest (who is also a baseball/Padres fan) to discuss the origin of the name Padres for the team and talk about the history of San Diego. This will be for the Emmy Award-winning Rockies All Access show on FSN Rocky Mountain. We are wanting this person to appear on camera on either Monday or Tuesday. Please reply to this post if you know of a priest who may be interested in doing something like this and our production team will reach out to them.
Thank you very much.

FSN Rocky Mountain Announces New Dedicated HD Channel
ALL Rockies Games To Be Available in High Definition
FSN Rocky Mountain, and sub-region FSN Utah, announced today that the network is now broadcasting a full-time high definition feed, delivering more than 400 events per year featuring the Colorado Rockies, Utah Jazz, Denver Outlaws, University of Colorado, University of Denver, Big 12, Pac-10 and more. The announcement was made by Liberty Sports Group, parent company of FSN Rocky Mountain and FSN Utah, which has also transitioned its other networks, FSN Pittsburgh and FSN Northwest, to full-time HD.
FSN Rocky Mountain (and FSN Utah) is offering its FSN HD feed to all cable and satellite distribution partners in the region to ensure that as many fans as possible receive the network’s complete HD offering. The regional sports network has already worked with many local cable operators to secure technology that would enable what was a part-time, event-based HD channel to transition to an around-the-clock high definition programming viewing experience. FSN Rocky Mountain (and FSN Utah) will continue to work with the regions other cable and satellite operators to secure FSN HD distribution in their service areas.
The leading provider of sports programming and production in the Rocky Mountain region, the full-time launch of FSN HD reinforces the network’s commitment to viewers by offering expanded high definition coverage and an improved viewing experience.
“Sports fans around the Rocky Mountain region have come to expect to watch their popular local sports teams in high definition, and I’m pleased that we’re undertaking this initiative to enhance their viewing experience,” said Tim Griggs, Sr. VP/GM of FSN Rocky Mountain and FSN Utah. “We are now in an era where applying new technologies to our daily routines is no longer unique, it is essential; so FSN Rocky Mountain and FSN Utah cannot afford to be behind the curve in meeting the demands of our viewers.”
A list of cable and satellite operators who will carry FSN HD in the Rocky Mountain footprint is located below.

FSN's Goodman Named Sportscaster of the Year
FSN Rocky Mountain’s Drew Goodman has been named the 2008 Colorado Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. This is Goodman’s sixth time being recognized by the NSSA having earned the award four years in a row from 2002 – 2005, as well as in 2007. He will be honored in May at the 50th Annual NSSA awards banquet in Salisbury, N.C.
“We couldn’t be happier or more excited for Drew to earn his sixth Sportscaster of the Year award,” said Tim Griggs, Sr. VP/General Manager of FSN Rocky Mountain. “His versatility, as well as his commitment to excellence, is one of the keys to FSN Rocky Mountain’s success over the past 20 years.”
Goodman is entering his eighth season calling Colorado Rockies telecasts for FSN Rocky Mountain. He spent 10 seasons (1994 – 2004) as the play-by-play announcer for Denver Nuggets telecasts on FSN Rocky Mountain. From 2002 through 2004, he was one of few sportscasters to regularly call action for telecasts of two professional teams in the same year, annually logging more than 190 games between the Rockies and Nuggets.
This past year, Goodman has called games in major league baseball, Big 12 football, University of Colorado men’s basketball, Colorado high school football and various network live events. In addition, Goodman hosts FSN’s Spotlight and In My Own Words series.
The Pound Ridge, N.Y. native joined FSN Rocky Mountain as sports director in 1988 when the network launched as Prime Sports Network. Since that time Goodman has been involved with numerous telecasts on the network, primarily working on professional and collegiate telecasts. He recently celebrated his 20th anniversary with FSN Rocky Mountain.
Prior to being named play-by-play announcer for Rockies telecasts on FSN, Goodman was the host for Rockies pregame reports. He also hosted pregame reports for Colorado Avalanche telecasts prior to taking on his new responsibilities with the Rockies in 2002.
Outside of television, Goodman has hosted various radio talk shows for 850 KOA, The Fan and 760 The Zone. For five NFL seasons he was a host for Denver Broncos pregame shows on the team’s radio network.
Also being honored at this year’s NSSA banquet will be Rocky Mountain News writers Tracy Ringolsby and Dave Krieger (co-Colorado Sportswriters of the Year), CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz (National Sportscaster of the Year) and Boston Globe sports columnist Bob Ryan (National Sportswriter of the Year).

This week on TOYOTA ROCKIES ALL ACCESS, hosts Oren Lomena and Alanna Rizzo revisit the first half of the 2008 Colorado Rockies season and rewind the highlight reel to find the best plays over the first 96 games.
Rockies manager Clint Hurdle recently challenged his players to consider two specific ways they could help the team in the second half of the season. Lomena and Rizzo talk with the players about what their personal goals are to finish off the 2008 campaign.
Lomena asks Rockies players their feelings on what is behind “homefield advantage” and why players consistently perform better at their own ballpark rather than playing on the road.
Also on TOYOTA ROCKIES ALL ACCESS, while at the All-Star game last week, Rizzo had the opportunity to talk to some baseball greats including Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Tommy Lasorda, Goose Gossage and Tony Gwynn.

This week on TOYOTA ROCKIES ALL ACCESS, hosts Oren Lomena and Alanna Rizzo make their way to San Francisco where the Rockies are taking on the Giants.
While there, the duo check out the Marin Headlands, take a trolley ride around the city, hang around Fisherman’s Wharf and wander Union Square.
With representatives of former San Francisco Giants star Barry Bonds claiming there is a period of owner collusion in baseball keeping teams from signing Bonds, Lomena plays a game called “Collusion or Kahlua.” Lomena asks Giants fans whether they believe in the collusion statement or if Bonds’ reps are drinking too much Kahlua. Surprisingly, many fans go with the Kahlua answer.
Rockies outfielder Ryan Spilborghs attempts to have a nice, peaceful conversation with catcher Yorvit Torrealba while getting a tour of the city; however, the conversation quickly turns into Torrealba making fun of the way Spilborghs dresses. As a result, Torrealba takes Spilborghs and pitcher Josh Newman to Nordstrom’s to buy new suits.
ROCKIES ALL ACCESS also takes a look back at the past year of Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki – from fighting to make the lineup at the beginning of 2007 to his recent injury.
"21 Days" Documentary available on DVD
FSN Rocky Mountain's in-depth documentary "21 Days: The Rockies Run for the Pennant" will be available on DVD to those who make a $25 or more donation to "Wins for Kids" before April 30, 2008.
To learn more about "Wins for Kids" or to make a donation, please go to: https://secure.mlb.com/col/community/winsforkids.jsp
"Wins for Kids" was introduced in 2006 by FSN Rocky Mountain and the Colorado Rockies as a fundraising opportunity for Rockies fans, players and coaches to benefit The Children's Hospital and Prader-Willi Syndrome Association. Donations were made based on the number of Rockies victories over the course of the season and this raised more than $50,000 for the cause for each of these first two seasons of the campaign. As always, we hope to exceed $50,000 in 2008 with your help.
FSN Makes 85 Rockies Games Available in HD
FSN Rocky Mountain brings Colorado Rockies fans closer to the action than ever before by producing 85 Colorado Rockies games, including all home game telecasts, in high definition during the 2008 season, starting with the Rockies game at St. Louis Thurs., April 3 at 11:15 a.m. MT. This marks a 35 percent increase over last season’s 63 game HD schedule.
“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the local sports fans’ viewing experience on our network,” said FSN Rocky Mountain Sr. VP/GM Tim Griggs. “Making more HD games available to Rockies fans improves on what has already shown to be a great product.”
The Rockies HD games will be available in the Denver DMA (designated market area) on Comcast (Ch. 664), DirecTV (Ch. 645-1) and DISH Network (Ch. 364).
FSN Rocky Mountain will produce 126 regular season Colorado Rockies games and will air over 550 hours of Major League Baseball programming in 2008 between games and ancillary programming.
