Seems like the visit to Florida State is going pretty well for LaMarcus Joyner. He now says FSU leads for his services. -

Urban brainwashing kids at an early age...

Hopefully this kid will catch on to the lies by the time he's a senior...

Florida State has offered Miami Central QB Jeffrey Godfrey. With good friend Brandon Gainer(100% FSU) as his teammate Godfrey will no doubt have something to think about. Godfrey has offers from USF, Michigan, UGA, and Tennessee.

Democrat grades the baseball team at mid-season.

The team has improved, but still needs to work on fundamentals like pitching, baserunning & defense. Hitting has gotten better, but we're averaging 8 K's a game at the plate - YIKES!

BYU's new look offense.

Not a whole lot of info (it is ESPN), but I noticed that BYU is breaking a new offensive line and new receivers. However, the new o-line averages a whopping 321 pounds!

With so much talk about offense & defense in spring practice, what about the "special" teams?

There has been a lot of discussion and speculation this spring about the strength and/or weaknesses of Jimbo's offense and Mickey's defense. Many have expressed concern about our defensive schemes...

AC breaks down the running backs

RB should be one of the team strengths this season with Thomas, Jones, Pressley, Sims and incoming frosh, Thompson and Pryor. Barring injury, I think Thomas could be our best back since Dunn. He hits the hole quick with great vision, has the ability to make a guy miss, and is tough to bring down. If Thomas learns how to block (like Dunn), look-out! Jones and/or Sims should be a nice little change-up and I can't wait to see what Pressley, Thompson & Pryor can do. Jimbo will have a lot of weapons to work with out of the backfield.

OT: Utah may be a BCS buster after all...

Not that this will affect the Noles anytime soon...

Noles beat the Gators

3-2 in a rain-shortened game. The team looks like it's playing better. Notably, MM brought in Gilmartin in the bottom of the 5th to preserve a one run lead. The game was called for lightning before the next inning started.

AC's take on 2nd Spring Scrimmage

Slow day, so I'll post here what many of you have probably already seen. Notable observations about Jenkins, White, Sims, & Alexander.

Wednesday Scrimmage Report credits Givens, Jones, Stevens with big plays

I never know how much to read into these, but it looks like the #1 offense played the #1 defense and the #2 offense played the #2 defense. However, some skill players switched during different sets. What do we know about this Eddinger kid other than the fact that he's playing against a really bad defense?

Dear Toney,

I want to thank you for saving my job, and possibly my career. You played your heart out this year. You single-handedly carried our young team on your back. Without your hard work, focus and...

Football Practice: full contact or two-hand touch?

Since spring practice is now underway, I thought it would be interesting to discuss whether or not practice should be full contact or not. I started thinking about this topic after reading Mark...

Desparate times call for desparate measures

You know your defense is bad when you start moving your infield around. Hopefully, Martin will find something that works, although I'm not so sure about moving a first baseman with 6 errors to SS...

Finally! Spring practice kicks off today.

I know we're all distracted with the Noles success on the hardwood, but I still need me some pigskin!

Statistical data indicates the Noles 2010 recruiting class may be in trouble

Recently, we have heard that a few 2010 recruits that had been favoring the Noles are now considering other schools. Certain media outlets have reported that the recruits are concerned about the...

Vote for Buster for AAU Sullivan Award!!!

Go down to the bottom of the article and give this man some credit for an AMAZING 2008 season!

FSU's new look secondary

The Democrat sounds off on the sanctions

Steve Ellis thinks the sanctions could have been worse. He also revealed his position on a potential appeal in the following reply to a commenter: "The NCAA did make it clear that if FSU appeals it could take away more scholarships. That's not a good trade off in my opinion. You're trading past for future. I would certainly think that's part of the discussion that FSU officials and the consultant firm have before going forward. But my guess is that FSU will appeal if T.K. and Company are not satisfied with what they hear when they talk with NCAA officials next week. Wetherell would not say who FSU planned on talking to but I have to assume from his reaction to the press conference it won't be the vice chair of the NCAA Committee on Infractions in charge of the FSU case."

St. Pete Times to the rescue!

Gary Shelton doesn't think BB should have to vacate wins. What I found interesting were all the asinine comments below the article. Apparently, everyone in Tampa is a complete angel...

Say hello to the ACSMA...

Since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference circa 1991, no FSU men's basketball player has ever won the prestigious Player of the Year award. That's right, in roughly 18 years, FSU has never had...

The scholarship limits unfairly punish the wrong people!

Alright guys, now that the dust has settled, it's time to sound off on the "penalties" that the NCAA handed to FSU. I'll take a crack at what I believe to be one major foul on the part of the NCAA. ...

Is FSU more academically challenging than UVA?

Recent rumors about Kyle Long playing football for UVA support such a proposition.

Ellis & Stroud, Part Deux

On the Dline, Kendrick Stewart and Everette Dawkins have put on 18 and 14 pounds, respectively. PRob is injury-free and becoming a leader. DAllen goes from peanut to stud by gaining 8 pounds and CazP has a bit of a knee issue.

Steve Ellis talks with Todd Stroud

Stroud gives props to Kendall Smith, Jarmon Fortson, Tavares Pressley, among others.

Devaughn Darling's parents again seek $2 million.

Any recovery against the state for more than $200,000 has to be passed as a bill by the Florida legislature.
