Graig Cooper might be out for 2010 due to an injury to the knee suffered during last nights fantastic loss to Wisconsin. Its all about the double-U

Still, injuries are sad and we should all hope he heals well.

Tomahawk Nation Write to the Coaches

Like 1Newplayer's post for TN: It’s important to show appreciation to those who are working hard and doing a good job.  You never know what showing simple gratitude can do for a coach, if he reads it, if he simply knows there are fans that are thankful, at least he never had to wonder--if he did.

Show your appreciationFisher, Trickett, Coley, etc?  Write an email expressing your gratitude.  I will send them to the coach.  My email is adwright99@gmail.com. Why send them to me?  I will total them and report how many letters TN sent out.  I might even highlight some that capture the spirit of this attempt.

Here is an example of what I was thinking of writing:

Coach Trickett,

Thank you for the hard work you put into our football program.  The offensive line is no longer a weak point, but a strength, paving the way for the ACC's best offense in more a decade.  You have made our offensive line something I, as fan, can be proud of.  I admire the tenacity and toughness with which your boys play.  I can't wait to see what this maturing group does next season.  Thank you for of your efforts and making the future for FSU’s line look bright.

Sincerely,

Andrew Wright

(this is one I probably will be sending to Trickett)

Please Rec this post so it can stay up if it catches on! Go Noles!

Tomahawk Nation FSU Likely Gator Bowl Bound- are you going? Do you want to do a TN tailgate?

With it becoming evident that FSU will probably go bowling in Jacksonville, my question is what members are going?  I suggest there be a TN tailgate of course.  As we all know, this will be Bobby Bowden's last game as HC and to be their is absolutely to be a part of history.  Now that he is retiring we can root for ol' Bob without that nagging feeling of whether its in the best interest of the program.  I wonder if we should have special TN shirts made?  I know I would buy one.

(I'm on the fence about attending because I'd have to take more time off and my wife has to work that day but might go depending on who I can dig up to go).

So who's going if FSU is in the Gator Bowl?  Anyone down for a tailgate?  Jan 1, 2010.  Game starts at 1:00pm

Tomahawk Nation Bowden vs. Meyer at the top of their game, who is better?

Which coach is/was better at the top of their game, Bobby Bowden or Urban Meyer?

I believe Bobby Bowden, at the top of his game (or I should say “games” as will be shown s below) is still better than Urban Meyer at the top of his.

Conclusions:

At his best(s) - (96-99 and 91-94 seasons plus a host of others)Bobby Bowden has:

1.     Won more games

2.     Playing higher ranked opponents (avg.)

3.     Playing more ranked opponents and

4.     Outscored those opponents MORE . . .

than Urban Meyer has thus far in Urban’s career (using a 4 year time span).  I used a 4 year time span because that is how many years Urban has been at Florida.  Even if you take Bowden’s SINGLE best year and compare it to Meyers, Bowden still comes out the better.

The following stats/records used were:  W/L record of the teams, final AP rankings of the team’s who played against Florida St. and Florida, and final scores of those games.

I used these calculations to base my conclusion on:

Tomahawk Nation Off-season appreciation thread for Chiefs, Authors, and Editors for T-Nation

Everyone who wants to express their gratitude post a comment, maybe even something specific about why the site keeps you coming back.

I thought now would be a good time to have an official thread for members to express appreciation for the awesome material posted on T-Nation since it won't take away from the quality material posted at busier periods.

To me what makes this site: the objective (when it counts) discussions which transcend from  technical and quality studies of the game , to being able to discuss the more general points of the game.

ps- I now get to share with my wife, who is a nurse, the posts on injuries and its actually getting her more interested in CFB (shes a nurse).  TrueCubbie, those are awesome by the way.

Hearing "defensive intensity" makes me want to vomit, but at least they improved according to this report.
