A lot of baseball cliches being tossed around but a few interesting tidbits also: - Rube still feels adding Pence last year was necessary to bolster our "stagnant" offense and provide "protection" - He was "uncomfortable" going 6 years for Cole but considers the contract a "necessary overpay" to keep him from hitting free agency - the Cliff Lee trade rumors were "all basically false" - There was dialogue with Shane's agent and they "knew" what it would take to resign him and chose financial flexibility Oh, and Ruben's brothers nickname is "Taco".
