I teach teenagers how to do math good.
I trained BJJ at Ralph Gracie JJ for a year and then moved away. I then moved back again and trained for another year until my C-6/C-7 disk grew to the size of Hasim Rahman's forehead in that one fight. If I ever get better I will return to training. Or maybe I will just use my vast white-belt knowledge to pretend I know more about BJJ than I really do.
I also trained in Muay Thai/Boxing for about 5 months until I realized that getting punched and kicked sucks if you are not getting paid for it. UPDATE: I have been training Muay Thai at Fairtex for the past 2 months - it's way cooler than before because they aren't forcing me to spar with Gold Glove finalists like the last place I was at. I am currently 82-0 versus the heavy bag.

Tell me this is NOT Wallid Ismael starring in REM's "Losing My Religion" video. Go ahead. Try and tell me.
UFC on Roku?
Mods, if this should be a fanshot then please move it; or tell me to delete this and I will make another one under fanshots.
I got a Roku as a gift, which most people would be pumped on. But I am not most people. I barely watch movies anymore...but I love sports. I know the Roku can stream the MLB and NBA packages, and I like that. But I was still thinking of returning the Roku, and then I see on the Roku that "UFC" is advertised. I have a question...
The fuck does that mean? I am debating whether or not to return the Roku, but the UFC ad intrigues me. Is there a way to stream UFC fights using the Roku? Any input is valued.
UFC 139 - I hope it sucks
I don't expect this to get rec'd. I don't expect 100s of comments. I don't expect sympathy. I expect nothing but hatred and scorn.
I was just reminded that 3 months ago, I agreed to babysit my 2-year old nephew in the East Bay on November 19th while his parents (my sister) are out of town. Family is pretty much the only thing that could prevent me from seeing my second live UFC event, and so here we are.
I was fired up. I was excited to meet my BE brethren, even if only for an hour or two at a tailgate. I was thrilled about the prospect of seeing Dan Henderson punch Shogun in the mouth and then hearing how Shogun was coming off a surgery. Instead, I am left with one option. To hate.
I hate all of you and hope the event is terrible without me attending. I hope every fight is a decision. I hope all the wrestlers shoulder-punch all the non-wrestlers. I hope the concessions give everyone gas. I hope Limp Bizkit plays live. I hope Steven Seagall wears shooting glasses in the cage and tells Ariel Helwani that he saw something coming. I hope Dana White tells everyone that people are in the mix. I hope Goldberg is so loud that people in the stands have to hear what he says. I hope they get rid of Baba O-Reilly and replace it with the Gladiator Intro live in-house. I hope Guy Fieri introduces fighters. I hope Cecil Peoples judges every fight.
And most of all, I hope I can convince my wife to babysit my nephew without me so I can go.

Juicing UFC Fighter? (possibly?)
I apologize in advance for several things: if this has been discussed already, if this is fake, and if this should be a fanshot.
If not, then have a field day.
I am of the thought that 99% of professional athletes juice. I think it makes them better, and that it is awesome and radical. But, until it is legal, I think that if they get caught, they should be punished.
That being said, homeboy here is fighting tomorrow. Anyone catch this on the underground? http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=forum.posts&forum=1&thread=1379477&page=1
For those who don't wanna read, here is UFC fighter Jason Reinhardt: "Hojak, Your right bro. I will be the first to admit I've juiced almost my entire career. I am ashamed of it. I felt the pressure. If guys were honest with themselves, they know what i'm talking about. I'm ready to do it the clean way. I guess, if I'm clean and get beat, so be it. It would be nice to know my opponent is clean. I totally understand why guys juice."
Again, if this has been covered or debunked, please mods, delete this. If it is old news and he is cleared for this event, delete this.
Otherwise, I want to hear everyone's thoughts.
Here, I'll do it for you (a pre-emptive strike)
Brock Lesnar has been exposed as being completely overrated by Cain.
-He beat an old Heath Herring and couldn't even finish him after shattering his eye.
-He beat an old and natural LHW in Randy Couture, and needed an illegal back of the head blow to do it.
-He beat Frank Mir, which in hindsight is not too impressive. Carwin did it better, as did Brandon Vera.
-He beat Carwin only due to Carwin gassing. Carwin destroyed him for the entire first round.
There, that is the extent of Brock's resume in the UFC as far as wins go. Nothing too impressive. People just got wrapped up in his freakish size and speed.

Thank God Strikeforce is done on CBS
Word on the street is that SF is getting "fired" by CBS. I, for one, as a true MMA fan am pleased. Let me explain why.
