Been a Syracuse fan ever since my cousin took me to the Dome when I was an 8-year-old pup. I was hooked then and never looked back.
James Southerland has been scorching the nets at the Garden. Will a big performance on the big stage propel him into the NBA draft?
We all know that our beloved Syracuse Orange are taking on the Pitt Panthers at around 2:30. The under card, a tilt between the Cincinnati Bearcates and Hoyas of Georgetown, determines who the...
I know we all with this was Doug Gottlieb, but it's almost as good.
SU and G'Town Best rivalry in college Screw Duke/UNC
Though this time they leave their dunce caps at home. Both pick Syracuse to win this weekend.
The Worldwide Leader is ready to pony up $130m for the rights to what's left of the Big East. Really? $130? The Big East isn't worth a stick of gum and a half-eaten Baby Ruth.
Last year Anthony Davis and Kentucky ruled college basketball. Why hasn't a king come forth this season?
Old footage of G-Mac winning the PA state title.
90 second segment on who they think will win the BEast regular season. The only thing they can agree on is that it won't be Syracuse. Williams' reasoning is garbage, as usual. Some nonsense about the zone, as if the 2-3 wasn't good enough to win the league last year (or any of the 9 previous times SU has won the regular season). Greenberg makes a little more sense, citing Syracuse's touch schedule down the stretch: G'Town twice, Providence/L'Ville looking for revenge, @Marquette. In either case though, I think we need to bring back #ADDTHEMTOTHELIST.
CJ Fair has been spectacularly productive yet under the radar all season. Can he break out over the last six conference games and make a case for Big East Player of the Year?
Dunno where this kid is from, but Jim B better get on the horn with a scholly offer.
Clicked on a video on Facebook about funny video game mistranslations and, somehow, one of the related videos was this Dion Waiters mixtape. I am not disappointed.
So, wait. A bracket style tournament to decide the best "Chappele's Show" sketch? F*ck yeah!
Has Syracuse as the #1 seed in the West. As much as I like the prestige of a #1 seed, I'd much rather Syracuse were the #2 in the Easy (assuming they can't get #1).
Some of you might remember the one-off "Like A Boss" pictures I did last season. I've upped the ante this year with some animated .GIF action.
"Three months, the weather's bad -- and we play basketball in them."
Jim Boeheim on CNY winters.A random thought that popped into my head whilst finalizing my Pinstripe Bowl viewing plans with my good buddy, SU alum and freshman year roommate Big Adam. Kickoff for the tilt between Syracuse...
Lunardi has the Orange as a 2-seed in the East. At first I was furious at Syracuse being bumped off the top line. But after looking at the fake matchups, I'd take that draw. Playing the first rounds in Philly with pretty much a clear path to DC and Atlanta.
With the start of his 37th college basketball season imminent, it's only fair to ask. How much longer will Jim Boeheim coach the Syracuse Orange?
A position by position preview of the season opening tilt between the Syracuse Orange and the San Diego State Aztecs.
People wonder why Boeheim never plays man. Maybe this has something to do with it. We all know he has a long memory.
Syracuse football, basketball and lacrosse get all the attention. What other sports might the Orange excel in?
Syracuse treks west to take on the Aztecs of San Diego State. On an aircraft carrier!! Both teams are coming off solid, if disappointing seasons and are looking to test each other early. Who has the advantage?
Maybe I'm harping on this too much, but I find it amazing how close Syracuse came to not dodging this bullet. At least now we know why Nerlens chose UK (as if any of us really had a question).
WVU was voted the top party school in the country. The distinction itself isn't as bad as the fact that the 'Neers measure sucess in amount of furniture they can set on fire.
And Syracuse isn't invited. Apparently you're only allowed to have one school per conference in any one event, so that's the excuse. I can't wait to see what Nike does after Syracuse wins 2-3 ACC titles between now and 2017, proving that Duke and UNC aren't the toast of that conference anymore. And, is it just me, but last time I checked, UNC and G'Town were sponsored by Jordan Brand, not Nike.
Looks like Nerlens Noel might not be up to all the hype (ESPN Insider required): Nerlens Noel, F/C, Kentucky WildcatsNoel showed up at the adidas Nations camp last weekend and, by virtually every account, was a major disappointment. While longtime high school gurus knew that Noel was incredibly raw, NBA scouts got a pretty big taste of just how raw he was. Offensively, Noel struggled to do anything other than dunk the ball. Defensively he showed why he was a terrific shot-blocker, but did little else to impress.
Not that you didn't know this. This particular piece is about the NCAA sanctions levied against UCF. No only did the story not really warrant any additional commentary, but O'Neal makes the case that UCF "cheated its way to the top". The Knights finished 5-7 in football and was knocked out in the first round of the NIT last season. This is the pinnacle of achievement?
According to this report, Big Eastie to-be UCF just got handed a one year postseason ban for football and men's basketball. It won't affect the Knights' Big East play at all, since they're not slated to join until 2013 anyway. But it means that they'll have to sit out their last C-USA go-round. It's good to see that the Big East has such outstanding programs in line to replace the traitorous departing members. If the Knights are gonna cheat, the least they could do is perform well on the field/court.
I figured I'd get the ACC hate off to an early start. These are the shorts my wife bought from Old Navy, thinking she was just getting "some blue shorts". I told her that she either needed to return them, or I'd set them on fire.
