Hi everyone! My name is Danyel and I'm orginally from the Poconos (PA) and attended Drexel in Philadelphia for the past few years. I recently moved home to the mountains and became an insurance agent My Dad started liking the Buffalo Bills the year I was born (1985) so it goes without saying that I've been a fan before I could even utter the words "Jim Kelly". The first thing I ask people when I find out they're from New York is "Are you a Bills fan?" Sadly, more often than not, the answer is "no" since Philly is closer to the two Jersey teams. Many guys are intimidated because they think it's odd that a girl knows more about football than they do, but I do want to note that for as long as I've watched football, I'm still learning. So if I make mistakes, feel free to correct me. I've been silently reading Buffalo Rumblings since it began and think everyone does an excellent job in keeping all of us informed. Finally, I just want to mention that one of my proudest moments came in elementary school when, the advocate that I am, converted my cousin and best friend at the time from a Cowboys fan to a Bills lover. It wasnt easy but he was won over and to this day, we still call each other often and hope to be making our first game at Ralph Wilson Stadium this year!

Fantasy Football Question guys...

Ok, so I figured I'd get your minds off of all the worries out there for our beloved team and ask a Fantasy Football question.  It has to deal with my receivers.

My two lock-ins are Randy Moss (I hated grabbing him but my league is large and if I didn't, I would be losing out) and Anthony Gonzalez.  For my third WR, should I start Ted Ginn Jr., Earl Bennett, or Domenik Hixon?  I read websites stating that all three are decent starts.

Also, I have Reggie Bush and Brian Westbrook as starters.  I'm not worried about Westbrook but I am about Bush.  The only reason I still have him in is because Pierre Thomas is hurt.  The other two options I have to replace him are Fred Jackson and Jerome Harrison, though I believe he's still questionable as well.

What do you think I should do?

Looks like I am not the only crazy person who thinks the Bills are being very secretive. Now a closed practice? Hmmm...either they're canning the no-huddle or they have something else in store.

Sneaky Jauron and Elusive Edwards...Call me Crazy.

Ok guys, Trent Edwards appears to suck.  I've heard that.  Over and over and over again.  I think everyone needs to take a step back for a second, however.  While I do not think Edwards is the reincarnation of Kelly, I still believe he is what we need right now.  For a few reasons.

First, keep in mind the Bills have only played a few preseason games against actual opponents with a completely different Offensive Line and a whole new game plan.  The no-huddle isn't for quarterbacks with low intelligence and little athletic ability.  We all know Edwards is smart.  He went to Stanford for crying out loud.  He also has the athletic capabilities to take this team far.  We've seen him outrun defenses and make those long bombs to Lee Evans.  Defenses may have ruffled his feathers a bit this preseason, but that's to be expected when the play-calling and the players are new around him.  Give him a bit of a break.

Second, while watching the game, I thought I was seeing it in slow motion.  Why?  Because the players looked as though they were slacking.  Many of them weren't even at full speed.  Then and there I wanted to turn the channel, though my love for the Bills prevents such blasphemy from happening, no matter how bad they look.  The Bills always seem to be plagued with injuries.  Has it occurred to anyone that they may be just taking it easy, having fun?  They know, through practices, what plays they need to make.  They also realize preseason is completely meaningless.  Why risk an injury, especially knowing the Patriots game is the first of the season?  People who deal with and work for the public are great actors.  Football players are no different.  So Trent throws an interception and he looks perturbed.  On the field, maybe.  But he has to in front of the fans and media.  I think preseason is a waste of time and very risky.  I would think most coaches agree with me.

Finally, everyone here seems to think that Dick Jauron is an idiot.  Well, not me.  He's as clever as they come.  He knows he is in the hot seat this year and has completely changed the offense this year because of it.  No one would bring in T.O. if they weren't serious about winning.  Which brings me to my point.  I read the article the other day about how the whole AFC East is sneaky.  Their tactics are shady and they work from behind the scenes.  What makes anyone think Jauron is any different?  He knows what he's doing guys.  Why were the reports coming out of camp and practices so positive but the preseason is nothing but a mess?  If you ask me, I think it's because Jauron is hiding things.  He wants teams to underestimate us.  After all, we always play better as under dogs flying under the radar.

I just can't grasp how we regressed so quickly.  That's why I'm not buying it.  We all know Trent is not nearly as bad as he's been playing.  He's still learning a new offense and learning to work with a different line, but by no means has his abilities decreased that much to warrant comparing him to Harrington or Losman.  People are so quick to jump down the guy's throat and the regular season hasn't even started yet!  Dick Jauron is a smart man.  And you can laugh at that all you want but I stick by my words.  The Bills are not putting all of their cards on the table for meaningless preseason games.  I would even argue that they're playing terrible on purpose.  Call me crazy.

The fact of the matter is, guys, we need to give our signal caller a little break.  None of us knows what is going on behind the scenes.  Trent is a better quarterback than what we've been seeing.  So let's wait until regular season before advocating for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to take his place.  Ok?

Ok guys, I know it's been a LOOOONG time since I've posted but I can assure you that I've been silently reading all of your posts every day. I promise! Anyway, I wanted to post this link to Arrowhead Pride's site. They have some really interesting ideas about a possible Waters trade, outrageous as they might be. Some think that we should give up our first 3 picks for Waters and their first rounder. Sounds a little much to me. Anyway, check it out!

Help Guys! Fantasy question!

OK, so I really need help and I don't know who else to ask.   I have Deuce McAlister for my reserve RB.  BUT Mendenhall is available.  Should I drop Deuce and grab him?  I'm debating it.  My friend who's and Eagles fan said I should keep Deuce but I'm tempted not to.  Any inisght would be helpful!!!!!  Oh, and I alo have Hasselbeck as my QB.  Should I be worried?  Bulger is my back up.

Thanks guys!

Two topics I'm tired of...

Ok, I didn't really want to go on and on about these two issues, but I need to rant to some fellow Bills fans who understand.  My first issue is that people seem to be taking the preseason game on Saturday against the Redskins way too seriously.  All over the net I'm reading things like "The Bills are the Same as Last Year" and "Edwards Poor Outing:  Is This the Future?"  Ok, we all know he wasn't great.  Thank you Captain Obvious.  But it was the first PRESEASON game against a team who had one game under their belts already.  Big deal.  Let me see the first few games of the regular season and then I'll tell you what I think.  Until then, I don't think references to the Bills being the same as last year is appropriate.

Second....here it comes......FAVRE.  I love the man.  I do.  My mom is a life long Packers fan.  But people need to jump off the "Jet Favre" bandwagon.  People who had once predicted the Jets to once again be in third place behind the Bills are now calling for a better record than the Pats.  I mean, can we get real here?  He's a great QB and all but do they even have enough weapons other than him to win games?  Personally, I still think the Bills can sweep the Jets with or without Favre.  Saying they will be better is one thing but claiming they will overthrow the Pats is something straight out of a fantasy novel.  So I wish people would stop.

Ok, I'm done.  I just got home from work and had to let it all out.  Maybe some of you agree, maybe you don't.  But it felt good to say it either way.

Questions about our 3rd Stringer....

Hi guys, I just signed up for Buffalo Rumblings today but I have been hooked to this site since it's beginnings.  For a girl, I know a lot about football but I do make mistakes so feel free to help me out if I get anything wrong.

Anyway, I watched the preseason game against the Skins on Saturday (thank you NFL Network) and from what I saw, Edwards was certainly pretty "shaky" and Losman stacked up pretty well in comparison.  I don't really put a lot of weight to these exhibition games though so I'm not going to start worrying...yet.  Actually, I was really looking to see how our other backups fared.  Just a question to you guys who have also seen the practices.....who do you think will end up with the 3rd stringer position?  I've heard some good things coming out of camp from both Hamdan and Baker, but I wanted to know your opinions.
