We need another McDuffie/Gadsden

Okay so here is my analysis of what i have seen so far, and what i think our needs are going forward from the WR position.

Okay, so i didn't want to hammer Ginn for his poor performance in the crucial final minutes of yesterday's game, but...After watching a ton of film from the game, and reading what some NFL sites have to say, i must say that i too am getting sick and tired of waiting for Ginn to produce. He has shown flashes in the past, but we do not need flashes-we need and sorely lack consistency from the WR position. Soon, and i mean very soon, teams WILL stack the box, and blitz the Hell out of Henne, and thus render the Wildcat ineffective, unless we can drop some bombs down the field. Number one priority this off-season is very simple...More playmakers to take some of the heat of of Henne, Brown, and Ricky. We need a first-class TE that wont be affraid to go over the middle, and we need a true number one WR that can not only stretch a defense, but also make the big play when his number is dialed up. Second, we need to shore up our MLB position. We are getting killed down the middle of the field, week in, week out. Last we just need playmakers on both sides of the ball.

While i'm not ready to call it quits on the season, something had better start to click, or it will not only be a long winter, but we will be once again on the outside looking in.

Your first time at Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphin/Landshark Stadium

This is just an open thread for all of you to post your first ever experience at Joe Robbie Stadium.  I would like to read everyone's first experience because i am not from South Florida, and my first time at the stadium was in 2000.

I had bought tickets with a buddy of mine to fly down for the weekend and attend the Sunday night ESPN game where Miami played Baltimore, and retired Marino's Jersey at halftime.  It was my first trip to Miami, and what a memorable one it was.  The night before the game, after having one too many cocktails, and sitting in the lobby of our Davie hotel, my buddy noticed these guys wheeling this huge framed piece of memorabilia through the lobby.  He told me to turn around, and i saw the actual items that they presented to Dan at halftime of Sunday nights game.  It was incredible, and i went to the people and asked them where they bought those items, and they told me that they were giving them to Dan during the game the next night.  I told them my story, that i was from CT and that i had flown down just to see the game, and begged for them to take a picture with it.  At first they were reluctant, but they let me take one. It was amazing.

Next up-GAMEDAY.  My buddy and i taxied to Pro Player stadium and once we pulled up to it, it was like taking the long journey to the Holy Land.  I walked through the tunnel for the first time to see a sea of aqua, and orange seats, the ring of honor, and everything that being a Dolphin fan was about.  The people, the atmosphere, and knowing what was gonna happen at halftime made the experience even more special.  For those of you who were there, it rained all game, EXCEPT when good ol' #13 came out onto the field, and received his place in the ring of honor.  Once the presentation was over, and he went back into the players tunnel, the rain started up again.  It was like he was truly a God in South Florida.  We went on to win the game 19-6, by a total of 13 points (Ironic), and from there i made a promise that i would return as many times as possible.

I have now been there four times, and see no end in sight.  That's it-that was my experience, and i hope you enjoyed it.  Please feel free to share your stories as well.

Jason Taylor...I'm Sorry

Dear Jason Taylor,

I have to admit one thing.  I was one of those fickled fans that last year blasted you on your way out of town.  For that I am sorry.  A year later, and i am coming on here for everyone to read, which is a rare thing-people admitting when they are wrong.

You have always shown class, and never let your true feelings get in the way of your many contributions to not only the Miami Dolphins, but also the Miami community.  You have given us many years of elite play, and interesting moments that many of us will never forget.  You have always had the backs of Dolfans, and even said things publicly to Jets fans that we wish we could say.  It has always been, and will continue to be a pleasure to watch you on Sundays making a certain #12 in New England shit his pants while you drag him to the ground.  I long for just one more Air Jordan Celebration.  I am not worried if you don't make the Pro Bowl, i'm only elated that you decided to come home.  Thank you for the countless sacrifices you have made, while your peers only think of themselves and the almighty dollar.

And last but not least, while you may have not yet hoisted a Lombardi Trophy, you have shown the class, and heart of a true Champion, and for that i am eternally grateful.  You have made yourself an example of what athletes today should be.

Once again, I am sorry for turning on you, on your way out the door.  You certainly proved me wrong, and now i will insert my big foot into my even bigger mouth!!!!!

Patrick Turner...

Okay so how many people would compare Mark Sanchez, and his playing ability to CP10?  I would for sure.  Smart, accurate, great leader, and doesn't have the biggest arm, but makes the most out of it.  Okay so now that brings me to Patrick Turner.  He may be the best fit for our team.  He is not a blazer, but, he is a HUGE possession receiver, that will move the chains, which we needed IMO.  Well, i am going to post a video, nothing great, just a simple interview with him, and in this video, you can see this kid's size, which to me resembles a poor man's Marques Colston.  I think this draft pick will be severly underrated, and in time, this kid will be a steal where we drafted him.  Feel free to leave your comments.

Miami Dolphins...Draft Winners???

I was just watching on ESPN, and they are covering the draft all night long.  They always chose their winners and losers, and both James Hasty, and Pat Forde really loved the Dolphins draft.  The more i think about it, the more on par i am with the draft the Dolphins have had so far.  It's nice for a team which picked so late in the first round, with so many questions about our secondary, to be called a winner after day one in the draft.  It's the type of change that we as fans love hearing about, especially in the national media.  Not that we need their approval to justify our draft, but it's certainly good to hear, that these so called "experts"  know that Parcells had his plan and stuck to his guns, and that we may be better off for years to come because of it.  Anyone that has to question what we've done today, i point you in the direction of last year's draft.  One the paid dividends immediately.

Here's to hoping that this one will miror, if not surpass last year's draft in terms of production, and results on the field!!!!

How do you all feel we did tonight????

What will I do until September??

Who the Hell knows, to be honest.  There is really nothing that i would rather do than fast forward time, to kickoff Sunday, spark up the grill, cook some brats, some ribs, and definitely send my wife and daughter to my in-laws, all while having the guys over to drink beer, and play poker. I mean seriously, What is there to do after the Super Bowl?  Yes there is the draft, which is comparable to going to a chinese buffet when you are starving, and just wanting to run up to get your food, and then waiter is holding you up to ask if you want tea with your meal.  After that, we have Baseball, March Madness, and the NBA Finals....Insert yawn here.  I guess with the nice weather, one could do some home improvements, but who Really wants to do that stuff?  I think i may play some golf to pass the time, but even that get's too expensive.

WHAT IS LEFT IF THERE IS NO FOOTBALL????  Absolutely nothing!!  Period!!!!  I eat, sleep, and breathe it, and the closer i get to September, the happier me, and everyone around me are.  Can you imagine life without football?  It would be like Belicheck without his binkie aka his video camera.  You just can't have one without the other.  So what will you all do to pass the time?  For me, I will be sitting on my recliner with my Ronnie Brown jersey on, the remote control in my hand, my DVR juiced up and ready to go, my Direct TV bill paid so i won't miss the games, an ice cold BEER ready to be cracked, and to salute you, the Month of September!!!  Can't wait to meet you again.

GO PHINS!!!
