Karma for Prior

Anyone remember when Mark Prior said "I dislike the Cardinals so much that I will not even root for them" when a Cardinals win over Houston would have helped the Cubs possibility of making the playoffs? Well, since then, he blew game 6 of the 2003 NLCS, gone on the DL about seven times, has gone 18-17 over 3 years, and has averaged just over 100 IP per year. Moral of the story: Root for the Cardinals.

Bring Back Luna?

Is it a possibility that the Cardinals could re-acquire Hector Luna via-trade? The Indians apparently just traded for Josh Barfield, and they already have Peralta at SS, plus Joe Inglett on the bench. It seems like the Indians would consider him expendable, and I wouldn't think we'd have to give up much

I always liked Luna, he's a good player with a lot of utility. And it seems to me that Luna/Miles at 2B would be a cheap, effective alternative to paying an aging free agent a ton.

Is this a reasonable possibility? Would it be worth bothering with?

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS

Right now on ESPN.com, they have a poll which reads "Which of these teams will win the 2007 World Series?" and the options are Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, and Twins.

I know it seems reasonably unlikely that the Cardinals would repeat, but how ridiculous is it that they do not include the current World Champions who are likely to return a similar, and possibly improved team next year?

Just another reason to hate ESPN. GO CARDS

AJ Burnett

Some of the best moves are the ones you don't make:

"The Blue Jays put pitcher A.J. Burnett on the 15-day disabled list with an injury to his right elbow for the second time this season. Burnett left his start against the Red Sox on Friday night after four innings with soreness in his elbow, and is scheduled to visit Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday. "They don't seem to think it's anything structurally wrong," manager John Gibbons told the Associated Press. "He'll go see the guy who did the surgery. Hopefully, he'll get some reassurance from him. Until he sees him we won't know." -Fanball.com
