Looking at the bright side of recent drafts

I wish Denver would have taken Reggie Nelson over college teammate Jarvis Moss as much as the next guy, but at least we haven't completely messed up in recent years. A look at this week's preseason games shows that some QBs just aren't ready for the NFL the way our boy Jay is.
Jay is without a doubt the best QB to join the league in the past 3-4 years. At TE, Scheffler is better than guys taken before him such as Joe Klopfenstein and Marcedes Lewis (IMHO). At wide receiver we have this Brandon Marshall guy... widely considered a top-20 WR, but look who we could've had: Cory Rodgers, Brandon Williams, Chad Jackson... the only guy taken before Marshall that I might be envious of is Greg Jennings. Elvis Dumervil, what a steal. Guys taken before him include Jason Hatcher and Frostee Rucker.
In 2005, our draft may have not been amazing, but we nabbed three corners (R.I.P. D-Will), of which Foxworth and Paymah create depth the rest of the league envies to hell. And though Maurice Clarret was an all-around bad choice, I'd still say we had a pretty good draft.
Over the past few years, I'd say Denver has redeemed themselves after a streak of poor drafts, mainly in the '06 draft. Cutler, Scheffler, Marshall, Dumervil... How many better drafts have there been in recent history for ANY team?

Okay, these two subjects have no relation, but I wanted to get both out there, and I didn't feel like posting two FanPosts.

1. I recently inherited my high school's sports column in the school newspaper. For my first article, I've decided I'm either going to write about Michael Phelps or The Redeemed Team. Does anyone have another good article idea for my next one, or a good title for my column? Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

2. Brandon Marshall = "Baby T.O.," and I've heard comparisons of Eddie Royal to Steve Smith (CAR). Does this mean, potentially, Denver could have a WR corps held down by two guys who compare to T.O. and Steve Smith in their primes?? If that's true, and we have Cutler at QB and Sheffler at TE... the next decade looks to be a time period where I'll need to buy many pairs of fresh pants.

Brett Favre has been traded to the New York Jets. What the Packers acquired is currently unknown. It is believed it will be a single draft pick based on NYJ's season. Anyone else thinking Favre will be mentoring Kellen Clemens and Erik Ainge? Maybe Pennington will be released and be looking for a back up job. Pennington in Denver blue and Orange, anyone? He's better than Ramsey, right?

PS I got him in the Denver Gentlemen FFL :-p

That's right, last Thursday javon walker planned on walking out the door in oakland. I don't have much to say about this other than that I wish he would've retired, I've lost all respect for the man now that he refuses to call the Denver Broncos by their name, calling them "that team," pulling a Bill Parcells on Denver. He's supposed to be an adult, I'd expect better maturity from him, but maybe that just shows my ignorance.

I know I've posted a lot of fanposts/fanshots recently, but this one seemed like a good topic of conversation. I'm hoping not all of you have seen this yes, otherwise I feel like I've wasted a few minutes of my life. Cutler's stats only look worse in the TDs category. If I were asked, I would have placed my money on Rivers having better stats.

No matter what, the Texans always seem to have a little Bronco to them. As seen here, only two Texans jerseys (Ryans, 59, Williams, 90) and a Broncos jersey (Bailey, 24). This is what makes them my #2 team. If, in an AFC Champ. game, we were to lose to them, I wouldn't be very upset. Does anyone else have a special place in their heart for the Houston Broncos Jr?

And my only ones of Nalen are much more recent with long, messy hair.

Of these starting AFC West wide receivers, which would you say is or will be the best (in his prime)? Please try not to be too much of a homer here, I'm very curious to know everyone's honest opinion. Of these receivers, I'd have to say Curry is the slowest and I believe Bowe is the quickest. They all have good size and Curry, having played QB in college, may have a special feeling for getting open in comparison to the others. Marshall played some safety for a year in college, perhaps giving him a better feeling for reading coverages.

Dwayne Bowe:

I have never heard of this International Practice Squad thing, but I can pretty much assume what it is. It's hard for me to understand why a guy like Taylor Jacobs (a proven vet) gets cut before some of our low-quality depth WRs. (Not Colbert, Jason or Parker, but the guys further down the chart.) Anyone care to explain that? Also, does this mean we're down to just two punters (including the guy who tried to kill his dad or w/e.)?
