I live in the suburbs of DC and i've been a Redskins fan since birth. My favorite players right now are Clinton Portis and London Fletcher.

Who is the best player in the NFC East? Part 1
Deciding who the best player in any division is can be extremely hard and is definetly debatable. In this series,I will attempt to find out who the best player is in the best division, the NFC East, according to the Hogs Haven community. Being the best isn't always about having the best stats, but about how much you change the game. I have picked 3 players (rookies excluded) from each of the four NFC East teams who I feel are the best on the team. I will narrow the choices down once these choices are approved by at least 51% of the voters. They are in no particular order. Picks after the jump.

2009 Regular Season Preview: Week 1 New York Giants
I will be previewing all 16 weeks of the regular season, and when we make the playoffs,i'll review the match-ups for the post-season. Expect a week 2 review tomorrow: 7/23/09
For the second year in a row,the Redskins kick-off their regular season with a trip to the Meadowlands. Last year the Redskins left New York with a confused coach,a sputtering offense,a defense that could have been better...

...and a 16-7 loss. What changes were made by both teams in the off season that could change the outcome of this year's match up?
Which 2009 NFC East first round pick will have the best rookie season?
I include Roy Williams as a choice because the Cowboys traded their first round pick to Detroit to acquire him. Personally,I think Orakpo will have the best year, and I think he will be the Redskin that most benefits from the addition of Albert Haynesworth. Not to take away from Maclin's or Nicks' talent, but Orakpo has less of a transition then either of them. I don't think Roy Williams can be the #1 WR the Cowboys need him to be and he'll have the worst stats of this group. The loss of T.O. could mean the loss of an effective passing game in Dallas. They still have Jason Witten, who is a great TE,but they have a dangerous backfield with Marion Barber,Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice,so I expect them to run the ball alot more then pass.
Derrick Mason,London Fletcher comparison
The recent surprise retirement of Derrick Mason has got me thinking about good ol' 59. Yes,Mason and Fletcher play completely different positions, but there are a few similarities that concern me. Both players are/were by far the team leaders at their positions. Derrick Mason had 80 catches for 1,037 yards and 5 TDs in 2008. Mark Clayton was second in all those stats and he had only 41 catches for 695 yards and 3 TDs. London Fletcher had a monstrous 133 tackles in the '08 season. Rocky McIntosh was second in tackles with 87. In other words, the Ravens have some huge cleats to fill with Mason's retirement,as would the Redskins if London Fletcher were to call it quits. Both players also provide a veteran presence at their positons and are game changers. I leave you with two questions: How do you think the Ravens will replace Derrick Mason?(In the event he does not pull a Favrerooski and try to return) Personally,I think Marvin Harrison would be an excellent pick-up if they could get him reletively cheap and he'd provide the veteren presence at WR that the Ravens now lack. How much longer do you think Fletch will play? Forgive me for the lack of quality of this post, this is my first one and I haven't a damn clue what i'm doing. Constructive critisism is welcomed.
