A follow up on jscape2000, and his post on 'A Thought On The Sound Of Yankee Stadium'

Please tell me I am not the only one who has noticed!? I would like to thank jscape2000 on his most recent post..'A Thought On The Sound Of Yankee Stadium'... This has been in the back of my mind since the Twins series... I've been to the stadium 3 times this postseason, including both walk-offs and last nights World Series victory! The sound guy should be FIRED! Yankee Stadium sounds SO FLAT! A friend of mine told me that even Joe Smuck and Tim DicKarver mentioned the borderline silence inside the Park last night...

"3) In my experience, the piped in sound effects tend to drown out organic noise while the Yankees bat. For whatever reason, the Yankees have made the decision not to used sound effects while the Yanks pitch and play defense- a time when it seems the average fan needs more guidance."

______________________________________________________________________

I CANNOT AGREE MORE! WHY is it SO QUIET in between pitches??!?!! Yankee Stadium is the only stadium in the world that keeps this silence?

What's the explanation to this? During the ALCS the Angels were just the opposite.. they couldn't stop with the sound effects!

When talking about how loud it was there during Games 3,4, and 5, I referred to it as CARPET BOMBING! NON STOP SOUND EFFECTS!

Did the Yankee players ask for this? Maybe to keep their focus? I tell you what, If I was the sound guy in Yankee Stadium I would keep it so loud in that place that you wouldn't be able to hear yourself think! That's what I remember about the old stadium...

I think were over exaggerating the effect of the capacity and the structure of Yankee Stadium.. It most certainly has to do with the Cheer leading!

During each game this postseason there has been what,.. 2-3 'Make some Noise' effects?... 'Black Betty' pumped through the speakers twice each game?... 2-3 'CHARGE' effects?....

Come on now! That place should be rockin'! They need a catalyst to get this crowd going...we all know once New York fans really Get In To IT, there's no stopping the NY Teams!!

Does anyone agree with me?! or am I nuts?

I'm afraid of the potential volume that were going to see in Philly. I bet that it won't be so quiet in between pitches..

What's next for Hughes

Yesterday on WFAN, Mike Francesa interviewed Girardi and a topic they discussed was where Phil Hughes would end up when Wang comes back. Hughes will start on Monday against Texas and since he has been brought up he has been getting the job done except for the bad outing against the O's. Girardi said he heard from others that Phil said he will pitch anywhere but didn't clarify where, whether it be the Minors, The bullpen, of with another organization.

Assuming Wang gets the job done for his next start, where would you place Hughes?

Last night, I tuned into ESPN and witnessed Sportscenter announcing that Manny Ramirez is expecting at least a 3 year deal from the Yankees. I hope this is true and I hope the Yankees follow up on this. Manny is waiting for Teixeira to make a decision, so until then we have to ponder....

How dangerous would the Yankees be with Manny?

Source:
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/12/20/2008-12-20_source_manny_ramirez_expects_at_least_th.html
