An Invitation to Mr. Selig
Al, I am disappointed that Selig isn’t reading BCB. If he did he would have read my post Hurricane IKE from Sept. 8th and had all contingency plans worked out for the Astro’s series!
If he does check out BCB after I sent him the link, here’s note to him. This is confidential so please do not read…..
Hey Bud, what the hell are you thinking? Since your domicile is in Bratville, I’ll give ya a few pointers about ‘canes you may not be aware of. Having been through my fair share of them, I will give ya a little insight. First, RUN!!! It is prudent to get away from a high probability strike zone which can bring several feet of surge, loss of power for up to 2-3 weeks, trees down for miles and roofs with blue tarps are far as the eye can see.
But, if you feel confident that bringing folks into this potential scenario would maybe work out, then here’s a checklist of what you should bring with ya: Gas, propane, bottled water, ice, food, batteries, flashlights, generators, chain saws and cold beer. These are items that are in high demand for some reason immediately after 110 mile and hour winds come through….and after 50 tornadoes spin off in every direction.
So, on behalf of all the fans, we’d like to invite you to throw out the first pitch!
Can’t wait to see ya Bud!!
If ya'll see anything I left off the list of supplies for Bud....just add it on here
Bud, don't forget____________________
Hurricane Ike
I live down South having relocated from NW suburbs of Chicago 15 years ago. You learn to keep an eye on Storms......especially the ones that have names. I write this as IKE is very likely coming ino the Gulf of Mexico. NOAA does a great job of tracking Storms. They very accurate within tolerance limits of getting their " towards" right.....as we say down South. The variables involved in speed makes that portion of their forecasting difficult and highly unpredictable however.
Here's the issue: there is a very high likelyhood of Mr. Ike disrupting the Astros series this weekend. NOAA shows that the storm is tracking towards Houston. If this is indeed what happens, this event could put more games in a shorter duration for our boys in blue including a double header or possibly playing makeup series after regular season ends.
Is anyone aware of a baseball precedent that has moved games to another location including to the opposing team's home field?
Any Doubt ?
Man, I swear I try not to be political but who was watching the Dem convention during Ramirez’s Granddaddy! The same people that I guess Mr. O-sox-fan was trying to converse with. Cause, where I live....when baby ruth hit da ball o'der the wull...dat a homer man!!!
If there was any doubt, it is GONE........After the Muts series, the Philles came in ready to throw game. The Cubs looked a little tentative at first, realizing this night and game could very well define who we are. WE ARE CUBBIES!!!
I really was at the Sandberg game. This game is more of a defining moment for a teams destiny than that was. It will have more advantage about putting players in playoff atmosphere, at night ,than anything else. Until..............( hey fill in the blank).
Until we get to see Mr. Yost.
What a wonderful ride this is....
Just do it baby.....
