Rivers added that two of the three technical fouls assessed the Celtics during Sunday’s loss to the Knicks were rescinded. Though Rivers said he didn’t know which two were nullified, it is believed that the two fourth quarter techs called on Sasha Pavlovic and Jermaine O’Neal were amnestied.
We need a big man, not a pg
Here is my uninformed rant on trade possibilities.
All this trade speculation is fun, but I doubt any of it will amount to anything. And while your not not going to take CP3 on your team, I think there are better options for the Cs right now.
What we need to be looking for is a young Big Man who can cement this team for many years to come. PGs and Shooters are a dime a dozen in the league today, however high quality big men are few and far between.
If we trade Rondo, it should be for a big man. Ideally, add in some other assets and get Dwight, but guys like horford, love, etc could be a good match as well.
Then we go after a good second tier pg. maybe some one like ty lawson of mike conely, or go with someone older like nash or billups and look to replace in a year or two.
My Ideal trade leading up to this season.
Rondo and Ray for Dwight, (maybe its a 3 team deal, cause orlando is stocked at the point)
Sign and trade baby for Ty lawson
Resign and keep Green
use our mid level exception to sign a SG like roger mason etc.
PG ty lawson, west, avery
SG roger mason? west
SF Pierce, Green
PF Garnett, Jujuan
C Howard, Oneil
Then going forward when KG retires next year, go after a big time PG
I would love to see us keep green for the long term, I think he will pay dividends.
C's need a scorer
Looking forward to the next 1-2 seasons, the Celtics need to acquire a younger player who can score the basketball
Rajon Rondo is the future, but is more of a playmaker than a prolific scorer.
Ray Allen is not the scorer he used to be, although is still the man.
Paul Pierce will continue to be an og celtic, but as pre-Big3 days showed he cant do it alone
Kevin Garnett is still the man defensively, and is a great oncourt presence, but he is scoring less and his body is breaking down.
Kendrick Perkins is a beast and a great contributor but not a high scorer.
Personally, I think we should get back Joe Johnson...
