Time to get Creative
My first option was to trade up to get Rubio, I don’t see him getting past Sac town @4:
Then put together a package deal with our pick and go after Bosh:
Now it’s time to get creative and lay out some other options:
To address our point guard need, we trade either Mags or Crawfish back to the Clips for Baron:
2) We then still have all our chips and for the next three years have our point guard situation under control: also we can keep Monta and let him develop his point skills with Baron:
3) We go after Amare, the package would most likely include AB, and BW, this would give them the Center they need to run the pick and roll with Nash, and a PF for the loss of Amare, but this will not be enough, so we then send them KA for cap relief and our #7 and either Marco, CJ, or Crawford and a second rounder for JRich:
Our line Up:
AS/RT
AR/AS
Jack/AR/Morrow
Monta/Jrich/Morrow/
Baron/Monta/CJ
JRich the 6th man+
We have several combinations of players to throw at them:
The QUESTION IS, DO WE STILL BELIEVE!!!
The Greatest need for the GSW’s: Is to be "RE-BORN"
The GSW need to realize that this franchise is at the end of the rope, it’s been one hell of a ride for the fans and a hell of a lucrative one for ownership, all these years having the support of the loving adoring fans, milking them for all they can get while serving them a steady diet of beans and rice:
All the lost years of never being able to enjoy hardly one playoff game, where they say the real season begins: trying to tune out all the bad memories built up during the year, sitting there green with envy as you watch the news and see almost every other team playing but yours;
Never seeing even one of your players make an All Star team, not even on the second ballad, looked over by the other coaches, not even getting a player picked most the time to play in the rookie game, looked over by the NBA for the three point contest even when you have the best 3 point shooter in the game: no representation at all on all star weekend, or the NBA playoff year after year after year:
The frustration of going to the games and watching them on NBA TV, seeing the officials disrespect you even when you’re on your home court: listening to that little clown VanGundy laugh at your team, or the fat boy on TNT Barkley constantly running down your franchise: Just when you think a miracle has taken place and somehow your fortunes have changed and you’re on the road to respectability, you’re wearing your "We Believe" tee shirt with pride with your commemorative W’s ring, but within a year you watch it all fall apart, instead of *We Believe* your now sitting there in your new tee shirt saying *I can’t Believe it* going to business meetings and having to take off the ring so you don’t queer the deal;
Watching your kids grow up and become fans of other NBA teams because they don’t want to be fans of a loser, the night of the game the wife has to leave and go shopping because she can’t take lt, even the dog sense’s something’s wrong and want out when you sitting there watching the game all by yourself in the dark; such is the life of a warrior fan:
What needs to be done to salvage the future of the franchise and reward the season ticket holders and supporters has to be nothing short of miraculous: the franchise needs to REBIRTH itself and create an air of excitement and great anticipation in order to drown the tears of disappointment frustration and apathy that has now overwhelmed even the casual fan both here and abroad:
What we need is to go for broke, buy that second pick, give the MG what they want, ME & BW straight up, then take the Ruby @ #2. And keep the 7th pick and trade that for Bosh along with any other two players other than AR or Morrow: We need to change the face of the franchise because as much as it pains me to say it Monte has tarnished his image beyond repair, Moped gate has forever marred him as a GSW:
If we can’t get Bosh on a long term contract then go for Amare, with the 7th pick and two players of their choice: AB and Bukie and the #7, or whoever: then I would support the team come hell or high water, win or lose, because I would feel they did everything in their power to bring us a winner:
The truth is were as mad as HELL and were not going to take it anymore !!
Nelson Props & Warning:
Nelson has a brand of basketball that’s exciting and seems to get players and mold them into his system, the players seem to love the liberty of the up and down game and the excitement of the fast pace, and because it demands such energy on offence by pushing the ball there is a lack on defense, also its hard to find players that can play both ends of the court in that style of play: and since it is such a fast pace it’s hard to find big men that can adapt to it, they need to be athletic and willing to run and play on both ends of the court, I believe this is why we wind up with so many long and lean players that have good offensive potential but lack muscle and the power game, that kind of a combo player don’t come along often, the last time we had him Nellie lost him by a personality clash, Webber was the perfect fit for Nellie ball, big strong and fast, great hands and able to push the ball up and fair on defense and rebounding; so what we have with Nelson is a philosophy he brings with him that he goes by like the bible, he don’t know how to coach any different, this is what is ingrained in him and he is lost trying to coach any other way:
In the run TMC era Nellie ball was at its best, good outside shooting with Mully an off guard who could go to the hoop, spot up or pass, with Hardaway the little bald Barkely at the helm, along with the Oscar Robinson potential of Mitch R, but Nellie wasn’t satisfied yet, he lusted for the bigger athletic guy that could add size to his line up and ended up trading away Mitch Richmond who went on to greatness for Billy Owens who was being touted as the next Magic Johnson, he was 6’9 a good rebounder and good ball handler, but he was no Mitch Richmond, and ironically as it turned out Owens was brought back years later after his departure from the W’s to play alongside of rookie sensation CWebb, along with Spree and Avery Johnson, they because the best fast break team since the Lakers in their hay day with the Magic man: Billy grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball up court with CWebb and spree, Mully had been hurt if I recall in the exhibition opener against the Sonics in CWebbs debut, I think he split his fingers apart, I was sitting three rows behind the Warriors bench in that game and seen how in awe and almost unbelief the other Warriors were of getting CWebb and seeing him do his thing on the court, Nelson pulled one of the best Con’s on draft day ever, he pretended he wanted the 7’5 Shawn Bradley when the whole time he was lusting for CWebb, and through a series of moves on draft day landed Webber: to bad it was so short lived, he was the missing link to Nellie ball and was the one man that could have given Nelson a chance for the coveted ring and since his departure has never been able to replace what he brought to the table for his system for the W’s.
I said that to get to this, we know what Nelson is trying to do and what his idea of B ball is all about, but it takes a certain style of player to make it work, so the question is does he have the pieces to make his style of play successful, and the answer is yes with a minor adjustment here and there, but up and down the line up he has a good mix of players who fit the mold, but to make it work he needs a big man or two that can adapt to the up and style and still have enough gas in the tank to grab rebounds and play some D, Beans is one, and I for one think AR may be the missing link for Nellie ball, his athleticism and handles along with his ability to get to the ball on both the offenses and defense makes him unique, what he lacks right now in weight he seems to make up with speed and good tendon strength, he’s lean but strong, good shoulders and upper body, he will develop over the next couple years and put on another 15 to 20 lb’s or so and at 225-235 with his size and speed he will be a perfect fit for this system so Nelson needs to realize that he’s not expendable and devote his time to developing this diamond in the rough, what he brings to the table is a rare mix of size, speed, athleticism, ball handling, rebounding and beyond that a desire to be a winner and reach his potential, the youngest player in the NBA with one of the biggest upsides in the league: but he’s a highly emotional player who needs to brought along with a lot of TLC, does Don have that in him? that’s the question: if not we need to find another coach who will follow the general Nellie ball concept who can nurture some of these young players along without browbeating and humiliating them into submission: Marco has huge potential, BWright if he can get stronger would fit well, and along with the rest of the vets and cast of young guys in two years it looks like the W’s will be knocking at the door for years to come, if there is a steal out there for a dynamic player that fits our system let it not be at the expense of breaking up the chemistry of what we have already, because over the years it hasn’t worked for us: I think the best trade this season was the NO TRADE:
So after much analysis and decades of experience at watching this picture unfold, I think the good outweighs the bad with Nellie, but he is a man who needs either a wise owner or a very smart GM who can gently oversee his basketball genius and not let him shoot himself in the foot when he is on the prefaces of building a real contender: I hope he reads this and takes it to heart;

The Mystery Curse !
The Cohen Curse, Lest we forget @
The great demise of the GSW came only hours after Billionaire Chris Cohen demanded possession of the Warriors, Remember Dan the finagler Fenann ? and those brothers that had possession of the team? Right at the time of the Chris Weber negotiations? When our own North Cal beat writer Silver was in Michigan eating dinner with Webber and told us all is well that Webb will be signing the deal soon, then right in the middle of the negotiation Chris the hammer Cohen stepped in and demanded the team be turned over to him, then right after he gained control the rookie owner decided he was goanna stick by his Coach, Don the Debaucher Nelson, better known as *Willie Nillie Nelly* He then empowered Nillie Nelly and the result was he and CWEBB couldn’t get together for a five minute discussion and iron out there differences, So The DON decided the team wasn’t big enough for both of there ego’s so he sent CWebb packing.
This decision of Billionaire Cohen to take control of the team and anoint the Don turned out to be the demise of the franchise, after breaking the chemistry of the team by the trading of CWEBB we watched everything unravel like a prime time Soap Opera, none of the players were happy except Hardaway, and that made Spreewell mad because he was buddies with CWEBB, so in order to appease the future of the franchise (Latrell the Choker Spreewell) they traded away Tiny Tim to Miami, then later lost Spree anyway for is infamous choke hold on the Don‘s replacement, PJ, The Bull Dog, Carlesimo, which of course came after the DON high tailed it out of town so he didn’t have the face the music for decimating the team: but the blame lays squarely on the shoulder’s of the ambitious power crazed owner Cohen himself. If he could of only keep his mouth shut until CWEBB was signed and then had a smooth transition of ownership all may have worked out, but he wanted it and he wanted it then and he got it, what’s left of it, it was Billionaire Cohen’s power move that thwarted the franchise, one has to wonder why he couldn’t of waited another week to take the team over, who was getting screwed? Whatever the reason it brought the Cohen curse and in the end the one’s that really got screwed was the warriors fan’s who only a year ago were considered the best fan’s in the NBA =)
I have watched people blame the Don who was culpable for sure, St Jean the wine bibber =) who didn’t have the foresight to lock up Arenas right off the bat, and now Mully who is Cohen’s new scapegoat, but let’s not forget it was Billionaire Cohen and his decision to take over the franchise in the critical hours of negotiations that caused this whole curse in the first place. He’s off hiding in his Ivory tower hoping no one noticed, the funny thing is it has already came back to haunt him, it just so happens that I was at Marine World during the weekend of the Gilbert Areans talks between him and the team concerning his future before he decided to sign with the Wizards, a door that was open because of the CWEBB trade BTW =) and as we were talking he asked me straight up what I thought of Chris the Billionaire Cohen, So I told him since he took over the team it’s been a circus of horrors until he and JRich got here, he sat there in deep meditation, it was another week before we found out he nixed the deal with the Warrior’s and signed with the Wizard’s, I couldn’t help but wonder if it came down to his lack of trust in Cohen that made him decide not to take a one year deal with the dubs and sign a long term contract the next year, I knew when I was talking to him that what I said could have influenced his final decision, but after all it was the truth and nothing but the truth. In order to rid ourselves of this curse what we need is a new owner, until then the Cohen curse will live on.
Makes me wonder what kind of Karma he brought to the franchises, how many people were screwed in order to amass that kind of fortune. Maybe it’s time to give back to the people, either spend some of them big bucks and bring in a contender or get out of town MR Cohen.
Sincerely, Forrest Grump:
