Hello all,

As usual Fooch and I were teeing off again on each other today which has become a sick pleasure in my life. Love me or hate me you know my stance on our current off-season: ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC FOR THE SEVENTH STRAIGHT OFF SEASON. (Big caps just for Fooch.) I'll spare any further rant or raves, but Fooch posed the following question to me today as he was once again...defending our QB situation.

Heres the comment:

"As far as the QB situation, in using CAPS, you make it sound like it’s absolutely god-awful. So, you’re saying you’d rather have the Broncos situation with Kyle Orton starting? How about Minnesota? At this point you’re looking at Sage Rosenfels, Tavaris Jackson and John David Booty. Considering Favre finished last season with a giant fork sticking out of his back, I’m not sure I’d go with that either. I’m guessing you assume the Jets and Lions are better at QB even though they have a pair of rookies who have not proven anything at the NFL level. Maybe you’d prefer TB with the proverbial poo poo platter of Brian Griese, Byron Leftwich Josh Freeman, Luke McCown and Josh Johnson?" -The Great Fooch

My answer was simple: I would take any one of the starters he named in that statement over Hill and Smith. That would be: Rosenfels, Orton, Leftwhich (for sure), Matthew Stafford, or Sanchez.

So I ask you all the same question out of morbid curiousity: Please provide me a team or teams in the NFL that you feel have a worse QB siutaion than the 49ers? Or we can even pose in a different light just for the fun of it. If you were building a team and these we're the only pool of QB's left tell me why you'd take Shaun Hill or Alex Smith first.

My fellow Niners Nation,

Hello all. I'm suprised I'm still allowed to post after Fooch removed my last one. Hillarious! He and "SFgfan" run a tight dictatorship here I so watch yourself boys. And one last note: This is just my opinion. Not my lifes work. See my daughters for that. I wish I had time to write a thesis with stats from the last seven seasons but I don't. No spell check either so shut it. This is just an editorial. Nothing more, nothing less.

ANYWHO-I read a great article on Yahoo today by Chris Chase of 'Shutdown Corner' talking about Dan Synder and whether or not he's a bad of owner as recently published by SI.com. Please note where our beloved franchise places by the way: (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/nfl/05/08/nfl.owners/index.html). Fitting picture of Ol' Denise. What a bunt for use of a better word.

Now lets move to the actual Chris Chase article on good leadership versus terrible leadership. Please see: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Is-Daniel-Snyder-really-one-of-the-three-worst-o?urn=nfl,163009#comments. And yes, it compliments my constant rants on how pathetic Denise York is AND how sad it is that we as fans have accecepted this. And by 'accepted' I refer to most of you trying to tell me that we're up and coming without proving anything yet through the draft (other than my boy P-Willis) and "Nate Clements-esq" type FA signings. I'm constantly saying that we'll never return to championship form until proven bussiness people are running the front office. These folks need to be landing (not just going after), but actually landing, FA stars like Cutler, Housh, and Haynesworth to name a few.

In Chris's article he asks the question:

"Snyder wants to win and spends the money to prove it. Yeah, the signings of Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Adam Archuleta(notes), Brandon Lloyd(notes) and countless others have been colossal busts, but would you rather have an owner that's willing to spend $100 million for Albert Haynesworth(notes) rather than one who wouldn't even consider it"?

So I ask you all: Why haven't Jed or Scotty landed ANYTHING worth a penny off the FA wire? I understand capital is a concern; but why is it so hard to get a FA to play here? It's the greatest city on earth. We lack guile, creativity, and salesmenship in my humble opinion. Example: Julian Peterson went to the Lions for godsake? Really, we couldn't convience him otherwise? Look, you all know my take: After fininshing under .500 last season (again) I'm all for someone that makes things happen. There are two types of leaders in the world; Those that make things happen and those that are left wondering what happened. See George W. Bush for the latter.

So where are we guys? Would you all like to see a Dan Synder or Jerry Jones (for sake of argument) run this team? And if you scoff at Jerry Jones and D. Snyder-and feel they don't do whatever they can to put an all-pro talent level on the field season after season-han tell me why that's not healthy. Tell me how your more confident Scotty and Jed are going to lead us to the promise land.

Good luck and godspeed....

Fortty9er4life

Crabtree is a gamer. We got lucky. Thanks Jokeland. That said, I would like to see the niners take the reins on their own destiny insead of being the benefactor of the Oakland Raiders absurd logic. They truely remain he worst run professional sports team in all of sports. It must be there degenerate fans that run the front office I guess. Oh wait-It's Al Davis. Same thing. Moving on. Heres the deal: I would have loved Sanchez but Hill will get us by this season. BUT Lil Debartelo needs to get on Boldin ASAP. Here's what I despise about the SF front office (and Lil Debartelo said he'd fix this) we never land the big free agents or even trade for draft picks like the Jets just did. Come on, I could have ripped off the Browns for Sanchez. Why the hell wasn't Frisco in the mix? Why did we scare off Stafford? Why did we botch the Kurt Warner deal? Why did we let Cutler go to the Cubs? Why didn't we get Haynesworth or even TO? Why are we never in the middle of this stuff? Come on! We're the Bay Area baby. It don't get any better than Nor-Cal. Trust me. Thats why houses cost a million and people come from across the globe just to see this gorgeous place. We live here! So I wish our beloved NFL team would step up and start making things happen. Moving and shaking like the rest of us that make up this great city. Come on Lil Debartelo...you promised! No more embarrasments. You want me to run the front office? Try me. My email address is attached. GO NINERS!
