The Systematic Beatdown, Spurs take Game 1

The San Antonio Spurs took Game 1 from the Los Angeles Lakers, 91-79. Even though the Spurs concluded the regular season poorly, their finally healthy Big Three carried them to victory.

Spurs Lose Finale to Wolves, 95-108

ESPN Insider Per Diem:Tim Best in Block-Steal and Danny "Big" Green is Most Deadly Open Shooter, in the league

Take that, Green haters. Highest Block-Steal percentage And the HabersTrophy goes to ... Tim Duncan Here's a fun one: SportVU tracks how often a block is recovered by the defensive team, which is something I like to call a "block-steal." That's what we really want to know, right? Most blocks fall into the hands of the defensive team, but who posted the highest block-steal percentage in the NBA? Of course, it's the Big Fundamental himself, Tim Duncan. In fact, 68 percent of Duncan's blocks became possessions for the Spurs, which is the highest rate among more than a dozen players with at least 50 blocks tracked by SportVU. Lowest percentage? Greg Stiemsma -- only 47 percent of his blocks were recovered by the Timberwolves. Serge Ibaka, the block leader, has a 62 percent block-steal percentage. Most Deadly Open Shooter And the HabersTrophy goes to ... Danny Green Whatever you do, do not leave this guy alone. According to SynergySports' video tracking, Green shot 56 percent from the floor on unguarded catch-and-shoots, the top rate in the league (minimum 100 plays). Considering all the 3s he takes, he effectively shoots 81.3 percent from the floor when he's open. He has scored an average of 1.63 points every time he gets that shot, compared to just 1.09 points when his shot is contested, according to Synergy video. That plus-0.53 difference is the largest in the league. Second-largest difference? Carmelo Anthony (plus-0.51 points per shot). Better guard that guy, too.

Tony Returns to Lead Spurs to Victory over Kings

Tony Parker returned from injury to lead the Spurs to victory with 22 points. Just before tip-off, it was announced that Stephen Jackson had been waived by the Spurs. In addition, Diaw is expected to miss 3 to 4 wks. There's a lot to talk about.

The Heat, without Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Mario Chalmers, used a Chris Bosh game-winning 3-pointer to stun the Spurs.

Spurs Narrowly defeat Clippers, 104-102

Whenever the Spurs play the Clippers, I tend to expect a pickup game. It's normally in the Clippers' best interest to speed things up and make things sloppy. I get it. That'd be my strategy too...

Spurs Destroyed by Rubio, Minnesota

The undermanned Spurs ventured to the cold north the night after beating OKC and were pummeled by Ricky Rubio and his Minnesota Timberwolves.

Game Thread Recap

Tony Parker is out for at least a month. Spurs fans across the galaxy were wondering what moves Pop would use to help the team through the next four weeks without his point guard. Well, he did something unexpected that worked perfectly. Strange, huh?

Pelicans can sting, Spurs lose 88-95

New Orleans played more like Hornets than Pelicans as they beat the Spurs, 88-95. I, for one, am ready for them to become a big awkward bird. Hornets sting and are bothersome, as the Spurs found out Monday night.

In a contest that wasn't as close as the score suggests, the Spurs put away the Bucks with brilliant execution on offense and another banner night from Tim Duncan & Tony Parker.

Spurs Pummel Mavs, Benched Blair, "LOL!!!"

Spurs pummeled the lowly Mavs because the Mavs are lowly.

Spurs look to pummel Mavericks, again.

The bad boys in Silver and Black look to hang another 'W' around the neck of the Dallas Ponies. I've never seen a team have such a meltdown after winning a championship. They will be lucky to make the playoffs. Bunch of losers.
