Revenge of the Birds USA! USA! USA!

In The Name Of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Peace. Good Morning everyone. I hope you are up early and preparing to watch Landon Donovan (landondonovan) on Twitter and our boys get down on ESPN. I'm a huge sports fan, and a bigger Soccer fan than most. All of my younger brothers grew up playing Fútbol and my younger brother Salih Johnwell was really good. He was approached to go overseas and play when he was 11 years old. I wanted him to go, but at the time my family was going through some tough times so he was not able to go. I pray it works out though, because now he's focusing on the family business, that is football. Haha. For those of you that don't know, my younger brother Husain Abdullah plays for the Minnesota Vikings. I know what you're thinking, yep. We have them on our schedule and I can't wait to throw him in to the Gatorade on the sideline. The Greatest Moment of WaterBoy , I love that movie. But yeah, me and my brother have always been in competition since we were younger, so he'll have no problem trying to give me "The Business". It's going to be fun. We always have healthy competition and to be honest, he's been getting the better of me lately, so I need to strike back this year.

Revenge of the Birds Who's The Best???

Andrew602 note: This blog was written by Arizona Cardinals free safety, Hamza Abdullah.

In The Name of God the Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Peace, Hey everyone, thank you to everyone who reads the post I'm a newbie, so be gentle...I just made it back home to Seattle. I live up here in the offseason, and it's a welcoming time right now to get away from the triple digits and get back to some good golf weather. I have to say I love AZ because we have golf courses like Seattle has Starbucks. I'll probably be up here for a few weeks working out then head back to AZ a little early so I can get back adapted to the heat.

This is the most crucial time of the offseason, guys are on their own and you really have to apply yourself and not lose what we've spent the last 3 months working on. I learned early in my career that this is where you make the team. You pay the price in June and July, so you don't have to in August and September. What I mean by this is, in the old days players use to use training camp as a way to get in shape. Well what happened was guys would get hurt or not be able to show their skills because they were tired and out of shape. Somewhere along the lines someone got smart and said, "Not up in here.wmv". So I love this time of year. I try and push myself to the limits, because I know they'll try to do that in camp. Camp is camp. You have to love it.

Thankfully I'm in good ol Flagstaff this year :-)...an NFL Player who uses smiley faces??? Hahahaha. I really am excited for camp this year, I felt bad coming in last year and not being my real self. I wasn't able to show off my skills because I just wasn't myself. I played the 4th quarter of the last pre season game Sep 3rd and my next game wasn't until the season finale vs. the Packers. That's not fair. It wasn't fair to you fans and it wasn't fair to my coaches. I thank them for allowing me that opportunity and again signing me back to try and finish what I started. I have a great feeling about this situation, this team and this city. I really do. I wish you guys could see how hard the guys worked this offseason and how dedicated guys were. It reminded me of the days we had all that veteran leadership in Denver. I just think we have to take it one phase at a time. We had a strong mini camp and OTA's, now we must have a strong June and July, then we focus on training camp. Most of us get our own personal trainers, but it's a trying time because this decision will impact your career directly. I'm thinking about training with Leroy Smith's Get Your Basketball On Infomercial. If he can beat out Michael Jordan, he has to be able to help me out.  And even though i'm not at the facility I still try and watch a lot of film. I watch game film and I watch individual film. I've been watching Ed Reed, Bob Sanders, Troy Polamalu, Adrian Wilson and the late Sean Taylor's films since I came into the league. I consider them to be the creme de la creme of NFL Safeties. Who do you think is the best safety in the game right now? I think I know, but it always makes for great debate?

Revenge of the Birds Last Week

In The Name of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Peace, What's up ROTB? This is Hamza Abdullah #41 for the Arizona Cardinals. I wrote a blog a few weeks ago, and had a lot of fun with it, so I decided to do another one. In this blog I hope to give the fans a look into the offseason of the NFL, and a sneak peek into the locker room. Eyes up please...

Organized Team Activities aka OTA's are wrapping up this week in Tempe and I have to say we are getting some great work in. This time of year is a time for coaches to throw a lot at us and assess who can pick it up, while still performing at a high level. Our young guys really study hard and are adapting to the Pro game really well. Like I said in the last post, Early Doucet and Steve Breaston are working their tails off in the weight room and it's carrying over onto the football field. They are meticulous in their preparation and I know it's going to pay off. This is my first offseason with the team and it has been a ton of fun. Both on the field and off. We have been able to sneak away and squeeze in a few rounds of golf, some joint outings with the kids and take in some postseason basketball games. NFL players love the NBA. The main reason, they all think they could have played in the "League".

Hahaha, wrong, the 15th man on the bench of every NBA team is still 1 million times better then anyone else you've ever seen. I'll give you an example. My buddy Kyle Weaver, Guard/Forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is in his second year in the league and he's probably the 8th man on the team. Some nights he gets a lot of burn, other nights he stays suited up. But man oh man, I saw him play at the REC Center at Washington State one offseason, wow. Everything was so effortless to him, he never missed a shot, his handles were crazy, the guy guarding him was in a full sweat dripping and out of breath. Kyle had a long sleeve shirt on, didn't break a sweat, and didn't even have the common courtesy to tie his shoes up. Hahaha. It was unreal. I have a great appreciation for all professional athletes, and I never for one second question their ability. They are there for a reason. Another reason NFL players like the NBA is because most of them have favorite teams. And these players ride or die with their team. It's great conversation and most of the time it's down right hilarious.

The reason it's funny is because guys are very creative and resourceful. For example, The Celtics won tonight, so now we're going to have guys come in tomorrow with brand spanking new, fresh out the FedEx box, Celtics gear. And of course they're going to be waiting for the Laker fans to come in to work. And yes, they will stay dressed in their gear as long as they possibly can. They would come to practice in Ray Allen jerseys if they didn't think Coach Whiz would fine them. Hahaha. I love it though, because the NBA playoffs is like a roller coaster. One day you're on top of the world, the next, the world is on top of you. That's why you have to stay even keel as best as possible. But We have guys that love to talk, and they know just what to say to push each other's buttons. So it gets very entertaining. All in all, its all in fun, we're competitors and I believe it brings teammates together.

Revenge of the Birds What's Up ROTB!!!

In The Name Of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

Peace, What's up everybody? This is Hamza Abdullah, safety number 41 for the Arizona Cardinals. I'm doing my first blog, so I figured I might as well do it for the fans. I'm just as much of a fan as anyone (especially of the NBA).  I'm actually watching my favorite basketball team as we speak...we'll get into that later. When I was a member of the Denver Broncos, shout out to all the Bronco fans, my buddy Domonique Foxworth had a blog and I thought it was a great way for the fans to get to know him as well as what goes on behind the scenes. I'm not a big blogger, but one thing I must say is I don't like the negative blogs. That's not what this is. This isn't a tally of how many times we can say we hate someone or such and such sucks. Nope, not here. Not now, not ever. In the words of a great Coach,

"Can not Play with them, Can not win with them, Can not coach with them, Can’t Do It"...

And I'd like to add, Can not Blog with them". One thing we must all remember is no matter how much money a person makes, it doesn't give us a right to degrade, dehumanize or just plain dis. So Thank you. I know my Mother in Law is going to read this, and if she sees something on here she doesn't like, she might get her belt. I like to have fun, I love laughing and I love YouTube. So if you have any for me, don't hesitate to send them. Speaking of YouTube, have you seen "I don't like you Mommy" hahaha, classic. I know there's somebody out there saying, man I been reading this dudes blog and he hasn't said one thing about the team. My bad sir. I'll get right on it. Sir yes Sir. I'll give you that SIR sandwich. haha, If you ever want to throw off your boss, coach, dad or whoever, give them the sir sandwich. hahaha. I love it.
