Randall Gay back on the field? No can do.
There are times when Randall Gay finds himself walking around his house for no reason at all. It takes a moment for him to snap out of that daze, but when he collects himself, he understands why it’s happened yet again.
Casillas likely to sign tender with the Saints
With all those graphics about CSC's popularity, how did that go twelve hours before being posted? You people are soooo lazy...Real depth at LB? Now that's been a while.
On another front, isn't it time to congrat Dave?

Farmer: "Will you be there Monday?"
Brees: "We're continuing to work on a long-term deal."

Bernard Pollard Rants and Raves About the Bounty Punishments:
"I don’t care if you do a bounty or not, because me — the way I’m playing — I’m going to hit you straight in the mouth. And if you have a concussion by me hitting you in the mouth … You know what? I don’t mean to. I’m not meaning to hurt you, but this is my game. It’s my life or your life, it’s my family or yours. Not saying we’re trying to kill each other but we’re playing for something.
Hey! That's my Sam Mills!
"You can't believe everything that comes out in the media. So, you know, I'm sure it'll work itself out and, you know, the truth will come out in the end, but it's not something that I'm terribly concerned about."
Saints' Benson addresses fellow owners over 'bounty'
Benson's comments were not categorized as an apology for the scandal...

Yep, Goodell opened a Pandora box
"Gregg came in and dropped $15,000 on the (table) and said, ‘Brad Johnson doesn’t finish this game. This is Wednesday and the money will go up later in the week. It could double or triple by the end of the week,’ "one of the players recalled. "A couple of guys kinda got excited. (Defensive line coach) Greg Blache said, ‘If you get fined, it will be taken care of.’

Opinions on Bunkley are a bit mixed. Sports Illustrated's Peter King rated him as the 10th best free agent available this offseason. CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco rated him 24th. Pro Football Talk rated him 53rd. And Pro Football Weekly rated him 71st.
Bounty? Relax, Ornstein will take care of it...
Along the way, he made friends with some of the league's most powerful people. He's on a first-name basis with most NFL owners and counts among his friends Bill Parcells, Mike Shanahan and even NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Ouch...
On Saturday nights during the 2009 NFL season, Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the lightning-rod leader of a feisty unit, would stand in front of his men holding white envelopes filled with cash—bonuses for their performances the previous week. As Williams called up player after player, handing them envelopes with amounts ranging from $100 for a special teams tackle inside the opponents' 20-yard line to $1,500 for knocking a foe out of the game, a chant would rise up from the fired-up defenders:
"Give it back! Give it back! Give it back!"

Goodell sees bounty case as a turning point in NFL’s culture change | PFT
The source told King that when Goodell first heard the allegations of the Saints paying bounties, the commissioner said, "God forbid this is true. This will be earth-shattering."
The only downside is that Smith’s 2013 cap figure jumps to more than $14.5 million and will be almost $14 million in 2014, the final year of the contract. But the Saints can restructure the deal again in future years to make it more cap friendly.
"I would like to know personally what he knew about this bounty system because he’s not only in charge of the safety of his players in that locker room in New Orleans, he’s supposed to be in those meetings responsible for all players across the league as it pertains to those types of issues,"
Good news, Benson doesn't care.
-Benson is described as being "110 percent" behind the two men and wants them focused only on the upcoming season.
It is good news, right?
In the wake of the disclosure that the Saints used a bounty program for three seasons, the franchise and the city will need Brees now more than ever. With multiple suspensions coming of defensive players and coaches, Brees needs to be fully engaged in everything the team is doing as the team prepares to try to win games without, for some finite period of time, coach Sean Payton.
"Now the truth comes out. That’s good. But that’s football. The only thing that really pisses me off about the whole thing is we lost the game. That’s the thing about that day that still bothers me. And that’s the way it goes. If they wanted me to testify in court about this, they’d be calling the wrong guy."
Oilers/Titans had performance pool, too -PFT
And another one...
Goodell just opened a pandora box.
Now, it all makes sense. With suspensions possible for players and coaches — including head coach Sean Payton — who violated the bounty rules, the Saints will need all the extra work they can get before the launch of the regular season.
Ndamukong Suh does not approve of bounties...
-"And so the dirtiest player in the NFL believes he occupies the moral high ground in comparison to Gregg Williams’ crew."
Hahahahahahaha!
Some had a queasy feeling in their stomach when defensive coordinator Gregg Williams listed prices on players’ heads — how much would be paid out from a bounty fund to take out an offensive star, especially if they knew the player or had gone to college with him.
The man who succeeded Gregg Williams as the Redskins’ defensive coordinator reportedly didn’t like the bounty program that Williams instituted and made it clear to his players that it needed to come to an end. -Last paragraph from PFT.
It is hard for many in the NFL to defend Williams today. No one can endorse the operation of a slush fund that paid out bounties for injuries to key opposing players as he has admitted to doing in New Orleans and is alleged to have done with Washington. But to grasp how it could happen, one has to understand the culture in which he coached, the combativeness with which his teams played and the way his players responded to his demands to be relentless and even dangerous.
"It’s pretty much standard operating procedure," said Pryce, who is now retired. "It made our special teams better. I know dudes who doubled their salary from it. Trust me, it happens in some form in any locker room.
If you go by average annual salary, he was the 16th-highest-paid quarterback in the league last season.
Brees has leverage. But the Saints are guessing that Brees won’t use it. And the Saints probably are guessing right.
Saints ink Brees for 26.7M!
...and a pony.
Sorry guys, couldn't resist...
"4 years of busting my ass, no hold outs,no off the field distractions, a Super Bowl… I ain’t never forget but u might of!" Nicks said.
Saints likely to franchise Brees; QB frustrated
Those "sources" again....
Given that Nicks likely will be lost if the deal isn’t done by Monday, both sides should agree that midnight actually comes at 4:00 p.m. on March 5.
Carl Nicks might be best guard in the NFL, and Marques Colston is on pace to shatter every receiving record in Saints history. You could make an argument that each, like Brees, is the best at their positions in club history. And yet both have been rendered afterthoughts by the Brees sweepstakes.
