Just a phrase out of a bad movie. Think a lot of cyclist have seen this movie and get their inspiration out of it. Lance, Landis, Basso Rasmussen(?), and the one how I forgot. Now how do you miss their. Indeed Vinokourov. His suspension ended this summer and now he want to come back. Kazach's politicans support him and why not? He made a ridicolous stupid mistake in the Tour. No doubt about that but he could win the Tour and his dream ended with the fall(when Rabo and Liqui were hitting the peddels like nuts) If you are desperate you make such decisions. But back on track he loved to come back by Astana. His goals in 2009 are the Giro and the WK. Nice battle between Basso and Vino their. In 2010 his goal is the Tour again. He is 37 then? Nothing to worry about. Joop zoetemelk won the WK on the age of 38 or something. He has some time left.

p.s. Just imagine Vino in the Giro. Always in the attack but always fail if it's going up more then 10% for more then 3 km. In the chase trying to come back with his Kazachisch face full of pain but determination. Just a beutifull prospect or..

I looked for it here at pdoiumcafe but I couldn't find it.

The sunday edition of the Gazzete have published the news that 14 cyclists doped during the Tour. (If you are a Voight fan you should now get away from this speculation) They have been all confirmed on EPO. (Second time that I warn you. You can go back) The names are, or you can pick out:

Edit: It says: Possible on the list... What the hack does that have to mean?

Ag2R: Valjavec and another rider out of the Tourselection (Efimkin, Dessel, Arrieta, Dupont, Elmiger, Gadret, Goubert, Riblon).

Saunier Duval: Ricco, Piepoli, Cobo.

Team Columbia: 2 riders from the Tourselection (Kirchen, Hincapie, Burghardt, Cavendish, Ciolek, Eisel, Hansen, Lovkvist, Sivtsov).

CSC: 5 riders from the Tourselection (Cancellara, Fränk Schleck, O’Grady, Voigt, Gustov, Sastre, Arvesen, Andy Schleck, Sörensen).

Gerolsteiner: 2 riders form the Tourselection (Schumacher, Kohl, Förster, Fothen, Haussler, Krauss, Lang, Scholz, Wegmann).

Maybe it isn't right to discuss this, nothing confirmed and maybe to much speculation. But my picks are:

Valjavec, Efimkin, Schumacher, Kohl Lovkist, Kirchen, Cancellara Voigt, Sastre, F. Schleck Arversen, Ricco and Piepo.. Cobo definetly not.. Or?? Ok u said it all..

After the argument with Rabobank it's now over. Jonathan Vaughters say the deal is almost certainly done. It is said that he go inmediately. The conflict about Rabo and Dekker was about blood values. Why would the 100% dope free squad take such a doubtful rider?

After a couple of struggles it's going to a climax. Rabo an Dekker decide that Dekker isn't riding anymore until the end of the season. Rabo already gave a try to buy him out. Dekker refused because he found the amount to low.

No surpise after all. They were fighting each other already during the Ronde van Romandie. After his 'vorm crisis' their their were rumours about him and splitting up with Rabo. Dekker complaine of not getting contact with his personal 'assistance' Erik Dekker. Erik Dekker on his hand said T. Dekker never answered his phone and responded to his e-mails.

Well after this 'akkefietje' their was the Tour. They spoke to each other and said that they decided T. Dekker is not riding the Tour. A couple of days agfter this statement thei was an interview with T. Dekker how told us. 'I always make the team stronger if I start. I would be ok if i started the Tour' Where was the harmony of the last statement?

After that we know why the contact wasn't that good, or they say it wasn't this thing. T. Dekker has refused to sign repeatedly a contract which say: Rabo can look in my medical 'gegevens' Afer the UCI found strange bleed values by T. Dekker, which means nohing,uhu, due everyone very strange! 4

So after al They talking for several months to each other with loyers, he is not racing anymore. Goodbye 'Dutch proud'! You can look to an other team. Dommage!

L'Equipe hs the primeur.. (duh) Another SDV rider has beeen confirmed tested positive.. So how are the options?

Piepolie.. Has a history.. Solid pick that the police is heading to Monaco. But why would you do that with your career if you are 39 or something.. Would be very painfull for him.

Cobo.. Had some seious firework in the mountains with Piepoli.. Because he was my favorite let's not hope so but you know.. But young and ambitious.. Not a very good season so far so after Piepo..

De La Fuente.. NAh.. Solid ride in the mountains but did that also last years.. Has already proved he can do this by almost getting the mountain jersey and already the price of most attacking rider in the tour.

Bertiogliati, Gomez Gomez, Del Nero, Jufre Pou and Passeron are the other one.. Don't have a chance with the other one..

Jufre a solid season and haven't seen something from the other riders.

After after Giro/tt talk... TT in or out?

A serious Giro with a lot of climbing.. A Giro for the climbers, that's what they said before the Giro. Afterwards can we say it's right or do we have to admit that the tt is the most important in a Grand Tour?

If there were only climbing stages these would have been the standings. I have included stages 7, 14, 15, 19 and 20:

This is almost the same as the actual standings. It doesn't make sense to me.. The only one who used his climb talent to make a better position is Ricco. Is it fair that the tt's are so much more important than the climbing? And, maybe to much out of the box, why did they cut the cobblestones out? You want an all-round champion.. Put them in too.

Maybe it isn't much of a problem but with the 30 and 50+ tt in 'de Tour' the advantage of the good tt'ers is even bigger.. Don't like that.. Want to see the fireworks on the climbs.. Hate it or not, but seeing cyclists riding 50km alone, can't excite me.. Just abandon them or shorten them.. 20km approxametly.. Or is their another solution, if there has to be one. Maybe shorten the climbstages? Less km's more firework more time gaps..

(much more difficult as I though.. next time a nicer story but until then I enjoy yours)

Team High Road not invited to the Vuelta

From 'Het Nieuwsblad' a Belgian newspaper, the Vuelta organisation hasn't invited THR. The reasons for the non-invitation is Team High Road's doping history. I believe it's a bad excuse and the real truth is that they want to make a statement.

I think it has something to do with the other Grand Tours. The Giro didn't invited C.A. and Astana and 'de Tour' hasn't invited Astana. The Vuelta (Unipublic) also want to play the game of the leader so they take this step. I couldn't think of another explanation. Maybe you can help me out.

It says that they must suffer the inheritance of the doping confesses of Ullrich, Honchar, Sinkewitz, Kessler, Riis and Zabel
