Oriole fan since 1954 when I listened to the first game - the days of Clint "Scrap Iron" Courtney, Chuck Diering, and Billy O'Dell.
Saw scores of games at Memorial Stadium and was lucky enough to be there the day Frank Robinson hit the only home run out of the park off of Luis Tiant in 1966. That was back in the day when you got to see two for the price of one...and Frank's homer was in the second game.
I moved to San Francisco in the '70s, so I managed to see the O's when they played Oakland. I usually sat out inthe first row next to the Oriole Bull Pen so I could talk with Elrod Henricks.
I did manage to get to Camden Yard in 1996 to see a game.
While in San Francisco, I became a Giant fan as well, suffering through the beast that was Candlestick Park - so last year, I got to have a team in the post-season that done good....real good...now if the Os can just do the same....the team seems to be coming out of the wilderness after being a marginal team for far too long. We were becoming the Pittsburgh Pirates of the AL.
