I'm about to do the unthinkable... I. Am. Going. To.....

POST A NON-FAVRE-RELATED NEW FANPOST!

About Percy Harvin. And his recovery from extreme dehydration. He's okay now guys, back to working out and all that. We'll get to hear about how he does in OTAs in a few weeks.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/05/05/vikings-rookie-wr-harvin-healthy-again-working-out/

And before this sentence I only had 69 words, which is the same number as Allen's jersey.

Apparently it isn't just rival fans who realize how poor the WR corps is over at Chicago.

Orlando Pace is apparently campaigning Torry Holt to join his new team. But who cares what a LT thinks about the WRs, right?

What about Cutler? Is he happy with who he'll be throwing to in Chitown? Apparently not. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/08/report-cutler-has-reached-out-to-burress/

As you can tell from the link itself, Cutler is trying to get Plaxico Burress to join his new team. I think that for the Bears new QB to be reaching out to a WR who may be getting suspended says quite a bit about how unsatisfied he is with his throwing weapons.

Ahem. I'll just leave this link here, and you guys can take a look at your leisure. Pretty sure it will end a few extra fanposts from being created.

Here ya go:

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/03/03/mcdaniels-cutler-is-not-going-to-be-traded-period/

The title of the link might give away the big surprise.

Oh right I need to make this 75 words. Let's see, it was 60, so it should be fine now.

One Less Potential QB

Well, it looks like Matt Cassel just got traded to the Chiefs. Figures that Scott Pioli would get ahold of the guy, he only spen the last season evaluating him. I was hoping a little bit this guy would be the 4th QB Childress was hinting at, but that's not the case.

I don't really have any idea what they gave up for him, but I think it says something about their confidence in Thigpen that the Chiefs are going to take Cassel. It should be a good fit at least. He's running plays called by Haley, who helped make Warner a household name again. Obviously he'll have some trouble behind that O-line, but I'm sure Cassel will pull through eventually.

Do you think we could nab Steve Spagnuolo to cover for him? Dunbar has said he doesn't want to take any position but the one he's got, so he won't replace Frazier. Or do you think he's going to either get that Head Coaching job or stick with the Giants?

If Frazier does go, who exactly is left to replace him as Defensive Coordinator? Any HCs getting fired that were decent DCs?

Is anyone else a little scared about us losing this guy to some head coaching job for another team? Who exactly would we bring in to replace him if he does go? I don't really hear much about good defensive coordinators being released. I don't want to have to go through another Mike Tomlin experience where the guy leaves and absolutely excels as a head coach for another team. Granted Frazier probably won't be headed for a team like the Steelers, it may be the Jets or something, but I would really hate to see the guy go.

Apparently, the NFL has asked an appeals court to reconsider Judge Magnuson's decision to block the Starcaps players suspensions. Seriously, this close to the playoffs? Are you joking? Its such bullshit. I don't see them getting the appeal, but the possibility of it is enough to upset me. Goodell is clearly not happy with how the Vikings' defense has been playing since the suspensions were blocked, and perhaps he's afraid they could contend for a SB appearance. Wouldn't that be a slap in the face.

'09 Draft

I'm not saying we should look forward to it now, we're still in the playoff hunt for certain, but what are your guys' opinions on what we need for the team? Obviously QB was on the charts just a couple weeks ago, but another solid performance by Jackson, I think, removes the need. He played well against the Falcons, slipped out of some would-be sacks, made good decisions downfield, made HUGE plays with his feet, etc.

So, what do the Vikings need?

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a better wide reciever. No disrespect to our current corps, but another fast, surehanded wide out couldn't hurt us any. We could get O-line as well, I suppose, but its servicable so far and hasn't really hurt us too bad this season.

Secondary maybe? I don't know.

QB Controversy

I hate to do this on the eve of our great victory, but... That was was so much closer than it needed to be. Seriously. I know that we are winning with Frerotte behind center, but he's thrown 13 or 14 interceptions this year. IN SEVEN EFFING GAMES. It makes we wonder if maybe, just maybe, Jackson would be the better quarterback. I know Jackson had that last minute interception against the Packers, and that we lost against Indianappolis (even though the whole offense was sucking that day minus AD ). But he hadn't thrown a game with more than 2 picks since playing the Lions last season.

My point is, Gus may be hurting the team more than doing it any good. I know he's gotten some nice throws, but so did Jackson. So what do you guys think? Who's the better QB to lead the team?

Damn you, Dallas! Damn you! They traded for Williams and got him! They gave up a ton though. First, third, and seventh rounder for him. He's good, but I think that was a bit much. Still, I would have loved to have had him land in Minnie. What upsets me more than losing him is that Detroit now has some extra high-round draft picks to use for their rebuilding process. I can only hope that Ford remains the owner and keeps making his wonderful management decisions.

PS: Let the jokes about the Lions drafting a reciever in the first round begin. Again. . . Still.
