WGN 2004 Tribute Video

Warning, this is for the hard of hearts only, may lead to prolonged crying and nostalgia. I certainly shed a couple tears and laughed a couple times. It was really a great season, and our season until those last couple weeks.

I uploaded this against the terms of YouTube, so don't be surprised if this is gone in a while.

:(

PS. If anyone has the 2003, 2005, or 2006 versions (if they did one) could you upload them or at least email them to me?

2006 Scouting Report BY THE FANS

Hey I know a bunch of you see games on a regular basis, and I thought that this would be an interesting project.

http://www.tangotiger.net/scouting/

Basically, YOU are the scout, and rate the different players. They want you to rely mostly on what you've seen AT THE BALLPARK, and not so much statistics or even what you've seen on TV, since you can't really see how good the jump is off the bat, etc.

Hope you guys enjoy.

Silver Linings to an Ended Season

Everyone is bummed about the season being over. Yeah, me too. But there are some good things about it.

*Murton and Cedeno will get some valuable experience playing every day

*We'll be able to allow Wood and Prior to return at a normal and not a rushed pace

*Derrek Lee can have a whole season to rehab his wrist, get it back in swing

*Calling up AAA prospects or prospects we get when we trade at the trading deadline

*Being traders at the trading deadline, we could make some mean profit on some desperate teams

*Cheaper, more plentiful tickets for us who will still watch the Cubs

*No more bandwagon fans (on the Southside now)

Prior setback

Wow. If this wasn't the Cubs, I wouldn't believe it.
Pitching coach Larry Rothschild said Prior is battling food poisoning that he picked up here in Arizona. Rothschild added that Prior will resume his throwing program once he is able, but no one can be certain right now when that might be and how long it will take him to feel at full strength again.
I....have no words anymore..

Dates for Arbitration Hearings Set

The Daily Southtown -
(http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/dssports/pro/311sd9.htm)

has the dates for Arbitration for the 3 remaining Cubs:

Will Ohman Feb. 3rd
Juan Pierre Feb. 14th
Carlos Zambrano Feb. 17th

So basically, we have a nice long period to wait for Zambrano and his large difference, but Ohman is going to come to a head right away. I wonder if that is to show Pierre and Zambrano that we mean business about penny pinching...
