BCB Fantasy Baseball 2012
Cubs and fantasy baseball fans!
It's time for Fantasy Baseball, BCB style. We've had a core of 5-6 guys who have regularly participated in this Bleed Cubbie Blue fantasy baseball league in the past 4 years (Azul Cachorro, Iswaids, Lemurs, Hansman come to mind....).
We're looking for a few active managers to join this "just for fun" league. This year's winner will receive the 2011 Tyler Colvin Bobblehead that last year's winner rejected!

Revised Bulls 11 game plans
This is not posted on the Bulls' ticket page. I had to call my ticket rep for the URL. If you have an 11 game plan, you get the same package and seats (A,B,C). Still 11 games, surprisingly.
I picked A previously which contained the season opener. Looks like I get Detroit on Monday now instead. Bleah.

Packer fans, let's be quite honest. This year we've been blessed with the greatest team in the NFL. Every week I find myself excited to watch the Pack, only to be disappointed that it's pretty much locked up in the third quarter. Now the NFL wants us to play the lowly Rams. AT HOME, even. What can we do to spice up these games and get our 3.25 hours worth of entertainment?

If you've purchased Bulls tickets in the last 10 years, undoubtedly you have received a call from Neil or Tina or Safdar* following up on your interest in Chicago Bulls season tickets.
You could get some nice seats in section 309, row 17 for the entire season for the low, low price of $1,505 each ($35 per seat x 41 games + 2 preseason games)
Of, if you're grandfathered in like me, you can get an 11 game package. The Bulls no longer offer 11 games plans, instead nudging people to the full season tickets, but they have allowed people who have had plans to continue with their 11 game plan. Unfortunately, they've cut the 11 game plan tickets from 12 sections down to 8, and have eliminated the front row of those sections, reserving them for full season ticket plans (ironically enough, during half of the games I attended last year, that entire row 1 was empty, as they are pretty lousy for full season seats...either they went unsold, or just unoccupied)

This will be the 4th year I have commissionered a league through BCB. We usually get some active managers (for a while, at least).
If you are interested in joining, please do under these two circumstances:
1. You will be online for the auction draft (Thursday, August 11 at 7:00-9:00 p.m.....Cubs off day)
2. You will set and keep a lineup each week of the NFL season. (not starting players on IR or byes, etc.)

Two days ago I received my 11 game pack Playoff tickets (1 game per round). I was excited, but I looked at the tickets closely. They were very vague.....obviously they said opponent and date "TBA"...but that's not what bothered me.
I looked closer, and nowhere on the ticket did it tell me what round or game they were for! The only thing that I saw was a code in the top corner: CBTR1GA which I interpreted as Round 1 Game A, but some people obviously may not pick up on, as it looks like your classic Ticketmaster gibberish.
On that note, here's a cheerful email that I received yesterday:
Subject: Urgent Information Regarding Your Playoff Tickets!
Dear xxxxx,
The Playoff tickets you received (or will receive shortly) were printed incorrectly and will not be valid at the United Center. You will receive a second mailing of tickets (which will be valid) within one week.
Please return the first tickets received to our office in the stamped envelope which will be included with the second set of tickets.
We apologize for this inconvenience.

Welcome back to the NFC North, Randy. Favre had been pining for Moss as a teammate, looks like he might get his wish.
This according to Jay Glazer on twitter. Bill Simmons seems to concur. Looks like it may come down to whether or not they can get a contract extension signed. Ugh.
Update: Reported that NE will receive a 3rd round pick for Moss, whose contract is up this year.
