Seahawks Pumping Some Iron
Thought this little blog post on the gains guys are making in the weight room was interesting. Obviously weightlifting numbers don't translate into wins or losses, but it couldn't hurt for this team to get stronger and more physical. As long as Tatupu is avoiding the bench and lat station...

The needs just keep on opening up.
Team Blitz Pub Crawl/Update
Hey everyone! Just wanted to provide a quick update on how things are going with Ryan/Blitz's fundraising efforts for the National MS Society.
First off, Ryan has organized a pub crawl!!! This Saturday, March 27th Blitz is hosting an organized pub crawl in Belltown from 3-10. Tickets are on sale for $30, and each ticket gets you 4 drink tickets as well as a Team Blitz t-shirt that you can wear on the MS walk if you are planning on coming.

Overall the fundraising is going well, with just under $30,000 raised to date! Just a reminder, if you want to donate you can go to http://www.blitztacklesms.com/granger to contribute to my total, or go to the http://www.blitztacklesms.com if you are interested in joining to raise funds!
Thanks everyone!
Seahawks Sign WR Ruvell Martin
He goes 6-4 220 and is only 27. I seem to remember him being a decent big-target for the Packers. Solid if perhaps unspectacular.
Seahawks announce RFA tenders
Not exactly the way John suggested it...
Ben Obomanu- 7th round tender
Rob Sims - 4th round tender
Chris Spencer - 1st round tender
Darryl Tapp - 2nd Round tender
Brandon Frye - no tender
Lance Laury - no tender
David Hawthorne -Exclusive Rights FA

Our own Blitz is facing MS - You can Help!
I realize this post is a bit out of the norm, but I hope you'll agree that it is a worthy departure.
For several years (3? 4?, memory continues to slip as I near 30) my friend Ryan Asdourian has entertained crowds as Blitz, the Seahawks mascot. He had been a mascot in college (stupid Gators) and has thoroughly enjoyed the chance to pump up football fans here in Seattle. Today I learned that Ryan was diagnosed with MS in Dec '08.
Quite a shock to me, as I know it was to him. I'll spare you all a long winded soliloquy - a message passed on from Ryan is after the jump if you're interested. Short version - Ryan is seeing this as an opportunity to raise awareness and money to help the fight against MS. He has set up Team Blitz for the Seattle MS Walk in April, and hopes to raise $100,000 in all.
I've been an avid reader of this blog for about a year (and a timid commenter over the last few months). I realize this blog may be an odd place for an passionate appeal, but I thought it might be special to see if we can drop up some Field Gulls support. Below is the link to the overall Team Page if anyone wants to donate or join in on the walk (April 11th). I've also included a link to the Team member page I just setup.

If FG vets can Rec this or do anything to help get this post on the main page, I'd be incredibly grateful. Thanks everyone!

Bills RT Retires at 26
I love this time of year, when every tidbit of offseason news feels as though it could carry weighty draft implications. Might this force Buffalo's hand (ie, draft a tackle and ignore QB in the 1st). And if so, is QB of the future a possibility at FOURTEEN?
Holmgren: Don't expect both Anderson and Quinn in camp
This article may hold some interest if you
a) are in the "maybe Holmgren would overpay in a trade for Hasselbeck" camp
or
b) think either Quinn or Anderson have value as a backup/stopgap starter if released by the Browns
Clayton Interviews John Schneider
In case anyone missed this, here's John Schneider on Claytons saturday morning show. Still listening through now, but so far it contains some hints as to what their strategy might be going forward.
