Remember when David Cone missed the start of a game after having his ring finger bitten by his mother's Jack Russell terrier and Kevin Brown fractured the fifth and third metacarpal bones of his left hand after losing his temper and punching the wall of the clubhouse. Why was he pissed? Poor ickle baby was pulled from the start of a game.

Hottest Fans of the AL West

More Hardball wants to know who has the hottest fans in baseball. We'll be running a set of posts over the following weeks featuring images of each teams' hotties, with a voting poll to crown a champion. We're crowned champs of the AL East (BoSox) and Central (ChiSox) already, and we're now moving on to the AL West. Sticking true to Major League Baseball's roots, there will be an eight team playoff system where the winners of each division square off with the addition of a wild card team to determine who wins the pennant and represents each league in the World Series of Hotness.

Howard's Millions

How would I spend Ryan Howard's millions? Well, you'll have to click on the URL to find out in full. But just how big is a million...I am a man of modest means, and in my profession, will definitely remain so. If I have extra money at the end of the month, I am ecstatic. I know how I'd spend $100,000: I'd pay off the house, college loans, car, eliminate credit. But 1 million is a huge number. It is bigger than many people think. If you could travel back in time at a rate of 1 year per second, it would take you 11.6 days to go back one million years (Fun Fact: it would take you over 31.7 years to go back 1 billion years). One million inches is 15.79 miles. The moon is only 238,855 miles (384,000 km) away, so 1 million miles is 2 trips to the moon and back. One million is huge.

So take all these large numbers and multiply them by 18 (208.8 days to travel back 18 million years, 18 million inches is 284.22 miles, 18 million miles is 36 trips to the moon and back). Now you have a grasp of how large 18,000,000 dollars is, and hopefully, how ridiculous it is for Ryan Howard to ask for this amount in arbitration. Full article- http://morehardball.blogspot.com

Doug Glanville Interview

Doug Glanville, owner of a .277 career average and 1100 hits on the nose over 9 MLB seasons, took time out of his busy schedule which consists of raising his baby son, being a savvy business man, writing pieces for the New York Times, and killing people in video games to do an interview with We Should Be GM's.

Chad Durbin Q&A

2008 Philadelphia Phillies bullpen workhorse and savior Chad Durbin cozied up to the computer for a Q&A session with WSBGM's. The recently turned 31 year old worked in a career high 71 games last season (nearly doubling his career total) and will be back to help the Phils defend their Wold Series championship in '09. Eric Valent Interview

Kicking off the offseason interview series is former Phillies 1st round pick Eric Valent, who was nice enough to do a Q&A session via email with WSBGM's. Valent was selected with the 42nd pick of 1998 amateur draft out of UCLA (Pat Burrell was selected 1st overall). He made his MLB debut in 2001 with the Phils and also saw action with them in 2002 before being traded to Cincinatti for Kelly Stinnett. He spent 2003 with the Reds then was drafted by the Mets in the minor league portion of the Rule V draft and went on to play with them from 2004-2005. He signed with the San Diego Padres in 2006, but was later released. Eric spent 2007 playing Japanese ball for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. In 2008 he become a minor league coach for the Williamsport Cross Cutters. Career line- 205 g, 50 r, 95 h, 20 dbl, 13 hr, 37 rbi, .234 avg, and a .696 ops.
