The Panthers have officially announced a new logo. This is the first time since the team's inception in 1995 that the logo has been changed.
Carolina dares to be great with Newton
I did not see anyone else post this article. I am saving this article on here so we can look back a few years or maybe it will have to be several years from now and get in contact with this writer.
Cap Figures for 2011
|
Rank | Team | Cap figure | Rank | Team | Cap figure | Rank | Team | Cap figure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dallas | 136.6 | 12 | New Orleans | 105.2 | 23 | Cincinnati | 90.7 |
| 2 | Green Bay | 129.8 | 13 | Chicago | 104.9 | 24 | Oakland | 85.8 |
| 3 | NYJ | 128.5 | 14 | Tennessee | 104.4 | 25 | San Diego | 85.8 |
| 4 | NYG | 126.3 | 15 | Miami | 103.1 | 26 | Arizona | 83 |
| 5 | Denver | 125 | 16 | St Louis | 102.4 | 27 | Seattle | 81.1 |
| 6 | Houston | 118.4 | 17 | New England | 102.3 | 28 | Philadelphia | 80.8 |
| 7 | Pittsburgh | 116 | 18 | Atlanta | 102.1 | 29 | Jacksonville | 78.1 |
| 8 | Indianapolis | 115.5 | 19 | Baltimore | 101.3 | 30 | Kansas City | 74.7 |
| 9 | Washington | 115.2 | 20 | San Francisco | 100.9 | 31 | Carolina | 73 |
| 10 | Detroit | 113.8 | 21 | Cleveland | 99.2 | 32 | Tampa Bay | 59.7 |
| 11 | Minnesota | 108.4 | 22 | Buffalo | 96.4 |
I found this over at Bleeding Green and I found it very interesting. We have tons of cap space but also have to deal with signing a #1 pick most likely and the influx of free agents we have. Seems like there is no direct correlation with spending and winning especially with Denver and Dallas towards the top and Tampa Bay and Kansas City by the bottom. With all this cap room will we be trying to piece together some free agent pieces? It is an option by looking at these figures.

Panther to Panther Interview
Candid video aired today on NFL Network where Steve Smith talks with host Fran Charles and guest analyst Muhsin Muhammad about what is happening in Carolina. Great interview with Steve who seems very mature and ready to lead this young team.
Jimmy Clausen (#2) isn't the only quarterback exciting the Carolina Panthers' front office. Former Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards (#10), a third-rounder who is making the transition to wide receiver, shows promise to give the Panthers a slot option they haven't had since Ricky Proehl successfully opened the middle for Jake Delhomme.
Steve Smith on First Take
Steve Smith talks about Jimmy Clausen, his opinions on the QB position battle going into the 2010 season, and being a rookie in the NFL.
Official New Panthers Number Thread
Jimmy Clausen has selected the #2 to be wore on his NFL jersey that may go down in history of the Carolina Panthers. Maybe he can be the best #2 in the NFC South this season over Matt Ryan. I have not seen any other numbers chosen by players drafted. Fill this in anyway you can when players select the numbers. I'm thinking about buying this jersey right now.
Personal Panthers Thoughts
Panthers at Miami
I rewatched the game from last night on NFL Network. I kept rewinding and putting down thoughts as they popped up. I liked seeing the game in a new HDTV and in my area. I won't be able to do too much insight through the season due to my geographic location but I can say that this part of the season is a fun time. I enjoy the cuts, position battles, and trials/errors. Feel free to comment on some of my thoughts after the jump.
Peppers a No Show
Disgruntled defensive end Julius Peppers was the only player missing from the start of the Carolina Panthers’ three-day minicamp on Friday.
