Cosh Train leaving the station for real-z's this time?

+

"I've got great respect for him as a teacher and communicator," Holtz said. "He's had a lot of success building some of the top programs in the country, and I'm looking forward to working with him again here at USF." Interesting choice of words on what Holtz respects him as...not necessarily a D-coordinator, but of giving Tysyn Hartman quotes to regurgitate.

A Farewell to Chris Cosh?

Bittersweet. I find it hard to rejoice in changing jobs, I guess at least he still has a job so maybe I shouldn't feel bad at all, but...I for sure was less than impressed with your defenses starting in the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

A stop gap approach for a playoff in CFB: GTCat proposes his +1 model

Ok, I've said this before, but I'll say it again: It's clear that a lot of us all have different ideas on what we think is the best way to fix CFB's lack of playoffs. I for one am a proponent of...

TCU: We have learned that Texas Tech defensive coordinator Chad Glasgow will return to the TCU defensive staff. We would expect current safeties coach Trey Haverty to move over to receivers.

http://www.footballscoop.com/the-scoop Have to admit I saw this one coming. Helps Patterson game plan a little more. That was a sweet rental agreement for HCGP.

1. In the wake of the Sugar Bowl’s decision to overlook No. 7 Boise State and No. 8 Kansas State, one suggestion being discussed for the next BCS contract is to obligate the BCS bowls to take the highest-ranked available team rather than have the ability to choose an at-large team. The bowls surely will balk, and may cry antitrust. But no one is forcing them to be in the BCS. Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott wouldn’t address that idea specifically but said, "There are things we all see that could be better." 2. A plus-one will be discussed at the BCS meetings next spring but it will take a unanimous vote of the six AQ conferences to implement it before the current contract with ESPN expires in two years. Even if they get that, there’s a bigger problem. The Cotton Bowl, the leading candidate for the fifth site, is on Fox for the next two years; the BCS is on ESPN.

http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/57415/3-point-stance-bcs-changes 2/3rds of Maisel's 3pt stance. I hope the Cotton Bowl throws a wrench into things in a good way. Perhaps a plus one is adopted, and Fox gets more control over the coverage in 2015.

GTCat's KSU/CFB Photoshops

I finally hosted these to my facebook, a few things I've messed around with over the course of the years.

Plus some additional quotes from ADJC about his feelings for the BCS (if you haven't seen those already, namely Collin's Bloody Elbow).

Arkansas: We hear Petrino might move director of high school relations Kevin Peoples to special teams coordinator. There has been considerable outside interest in the position. We also hear that the defensive coordinator job is Illinois interim head coach, Vic Koenning's if he doesn't have a head coaching offer.

Ell sorta tries to apologize to the Mercury

It's good that he took the time to do this interview, but the sincerity of the quotes is hard to really mend any wounds. He doesn't quite go far enough for me, but that's just me. It's always hard to get things out of words on paper. If I watched this interview on TV, perhaps I would feel differently. I suppose the important thing, isn't how I interpret things, but he knows within his own conscience what the truth is. And hopefully it is how he says them.

This year's team, and group of seniors, deserve a sell-out. If you are within driving range, buy the reasonably priced ticket. If you haven't been to a game live this season, this is an extreme value!

Sounds like the urban legend I heard of RP calling standing team chaplain in to do a last rights ceremony for a failed game plan following a loss.

Feelings Shifting on Neinas' role for our Conference

14

First things first. I think this conference needed a stern, cut and dry decision maker to follow up the mess Beebe left behind. Neinas has been refreshing in that regard. We all know I've been a big proponent of the 10 now, 12 later plan. To me, its two-fold: preserving max funds (to be competitive among other leagues) with our current tier 2 contract supplementing where the tier 1 lacks due to other renegotiations, plus it gives us time to get it right as far as adding #11 and #12, though at this point I think that's essentially Cinci and Louisville. I also think the 10 teams playing together help build relationships between institutions (i.e. more ADs in booths at halftimes with all ADs vs the former split scheduling helps get everyone on similar pages). Anyway, the sentiment in this article I think I agree with. Neinas may be starting to over-step his bounds and speaking for a whole too much with his 'just stay at 10 public talk'. He also needs to either stay quiet to preserve some dignity among the conference if he knows not everyone agrees with the position. I think staying at 10 is crucial to his tenure since he IS serving on an interim basis. Leaving open the other two slots gives the next guy the opportunity to work with the conference membership to get it right. Rather than have a guy who fills a roll for (for the sake of a number) 10 months setting up a situation for everyone else to deal with as he heads back to his sunny AZ retirement house or something.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Missouri vs. Big East

http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/37635/big-12-bowl-projections-week-9-2 If Mizzou must go to a bowl, please let this be the one. And let USF make them look silly. In other news, Ubbs has us going to the Cotton. If we play like that 2nd half last Saturday, good luck with that! I doubt A&M goes to the Alamo, with dates against OU (probable 4th loss) and KSU following (probably 5th loss). UT beginning to feel good about themselves.

Beer in the stadium? The Big 12 has no rules encouraging or prohibiting it at campus stadiums, but West Virginia made the addition to its stadium this year. The details of whether it will continue haven't been ironed out yet.

http://espn.go.com/blog/big12 Just one more reason why WVU's a good add. Hello Colorado void: Mountains and beer in the stadium. I just hope their fans are better than Colorado's. But I'm pretty sure cfbstats.com has Colorado's fans ranked 120th in total Douche.

OU Game a sell-out already

Boom. That's how you do it people. Already operating at 99.3% capacity on the year. The empire is rising for sure!
