Grantland on which contracts should be purchased and forgotten in amnesty 2.0
DETROIT PISTONS
Abrams: Richard Hamilton ($25 million over the next two years). A sad but necessary and overdue parting. Detroit could also look at trimming off the longer-termed contracts of Ben Gordon ($37.2 million through 2014) and Charlie Villanueva ($24.2 through 2014), but Hamilton makes the most sense for the Pistons: Their championship team dissipated long ago, and Hamilton has soured on the organization.
Simmons: I don't feel sad. By the way, congratulations to Joe Dumars for tying Isiah Thomas' "three legitimate amnesty clause candidates" record from 2005.
What to Experience in Indianapolis
I'm making the trip down to Indianapolis this weekend for the first time since I was there for Manning's first career win. Since I was only 11 years old at the time, I wasn't too concerned about the tailgating or bar scene. What makes a perfect trip to Lucas Oil for you guys? Where is the best tailgating spot or pre-game bars? What restaurants would you suggest not missing? Where does the party continue after a Colts victory? Anything else you would recommend to complete the trip? Look forward to meeting some great Colts fans down there this weekend.
I clipped this from an email that Van Andel Arena sent to me about tickets for tomorrow's game in Grand Rapids. I've always felt that people on this side of the state don't care about Pistons basketball, so this made me laugh
