Lifelong Trailblazer fan. I am a terrible typist. I am also a marginal grammarian. To add to the hrror, I suck at proof reading my posts for typs and grammar.

Jaynes Weighs in on Blake / Miller / Roy
I think he makes some good points.
I really do not expect Nate to go with this except in the short term or against the Minny's of the world.

October 14th JD: Those wild and crazy Euro ballers
http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/did-greek-team-threaten-to-kill-us-sports-agent-26468
Olympiakos lost both of its exhibition games against NBA teams this week, then headed to the airport after narrowly avoiding having their property seized to settle an outstanding debt. Former American NBA player Chris Morris, who played with the Greek club in 1999, is still owed a boatload of money by the club, and his agent wanted to collect.
Well this is all fine and dandy. So Olympikos is allegedly not totally forthright toward all their obligations. The part of the story that gets me is this:
On Friday, before Olympiakos was to play the Spurs, a Federal Marshall in San Antonio refused to execute a writ from a federal judge to seize the uniforms, airline tickets and other properties of Olympiakos in connection to its debt to Morris.
What the heck? Do U.S. Federal Marshals have the autonomy to just ignore a Fedreal Judge's writ? I wanna be one of them!
Sorry no poll. This is my first one of these, just because I got to work for 3 more hours and got tired of nobody else is pulling the trigger.
Oh, and to all you slackers that just hang out in here, go join the discussions on the Main Page once in a while. Yeah you might get bitten once in a while, but it builds character.

Neat trip down memory lane: '85-'86 Blazers (40-42) beat Celtics (67-15, 40-1 at home) in Boston for Celts only home loss.
Current article from NBA.com. They talk to Bird and Walton (Boston). They remember that game like it was yesterday, because the loss was so painful. Take a look at the box score for the game at the end of the article. You'll see some names that were on the team 5 years later (Finals), coming off the bench. Kind of gives some perspective how young our '08-'09 team is, and how well they are doing this year.

The Cost of Wins
Interesting analysis. According to this chap the Blazers have the most efficient Active Payroll (minus Miles / Francis on the books).

Yay! My man Ike!
I'm glad to see he is still scrapping in practice and not getting discouraged. As long as he's competing in the practice sessions, against Oden no less, I'll quit dogging him so hard.

Fernandez makes fast transition into NBA
per Brian Hendrickson at The Columbian
"But when he explains the quick adjustment to his new teammates and league, Fernandez makes the move sound fundamental.
'Basketball is basketball, Europe or in USA,' he explained.
The Blazers never expected the transition to be that easy, but Fernandez has certainly made it look that way. He led the Blazers in steals (2.6 a game) during the preseason, and ranked third in assists (4.0 average) and fourth in scoring (12.0 average). And if Fernandez continues to play with that level of comfort, then his quick, smooth transition could pay big dividends."
