New Screen Name
Now that Gallagher's been traded, I'm changing my username to something with more staying power. The new username will be "Peaches", a joke aimed at Sacramento Kings announcer Grant Napear. Even though Napear will likely end up leaving Sacramento at some point, it won't be anytime soon, and the reference will still make sense, as no current Kings fan will ever forget who Grant Napear is. Anyway, I will be posting as Peaches as soon as my 24 hour waiting period is up. Thanks guys!
Just realized Player To Be Named Later is available, so I'm going to use that instead. Perfect for the A's, too.

Just wanted to point out that two of the three teams ahead of us in the AL West's managers used to be A's assistant coaches, and we got "Shouldn't Have a Job Bob" instead. How fitting...
Miguel Angel Sano and the A's
So I just found this article on mlbtraderumors.com about Miguel Angel Sano saying that Aroldis Chapman's availability might kill Sano's price tag. The Orioles are likely not going to be willing to pay much, and the Pirates might not be either. This could mean that instead of commanding Ynoa money, Sano might command even less than Wagner Mateo's $3.1 million. If that's true, I think this would be something the A's should jump on. If Beane considers Sano a first-round talent, sign him for $3 mil or whatever. Do you think it'd be prudent for the A's to try to jump in and sign Sano while other teams focus their money on Chapman? Also to be considered is the amount of money Max Stassi is asking for. If the A's had to choose one of the two, which one would you rather give money to, Stassi or Sano?

Maybe we should've signed Crede...
Joe Crede has a great defensive rating this year on top of actually being able to make contact with a baseball. Too bad we had to sign Nomar instead.
A request, AN, from me to you
I also post on two other SB Nation sites: Fear The Fin and Sactown Royalty. On both of these sites, FanShots worthy of making the front page are added to the front page. However, on this site that doesn't seem to be the case. I can't remember ever seeing a FanShot on the front page. What this seems to cause is people who have very little to say in a post to make a full FanPost instead of confining their small amount of material to a FanShot. The A's just traded for Scott Hairston, and you'd never know it by the front page because it's buried in a FanShot. Anyway, I would like to recommend that AthleticsNation begin publishing worthy FanShots to the front page. What do you think?

A's Draft Link Dump
There seems to be almost no information posted on Justin Marks, so I'll focus on him. I'm sure everyone has plenty of Grant Green links to dump in here. Here's some Justin Marks info!

The Heckler
For those of you that sit in the bleachers in left field, you no doubt noticed the heckler in the upper left-field bleachers wearing the Dodgers hat and poncho and shouting different sorts of "Pie" jokes at Felix Pie, followed by many Rockies references for Matt Holliday. That's my friend Derek; today was his bachelor party, and it was a blast. We got to meet a couple A's fans from the downstairs bleachers, too. Anyway, I guess I should've posted something before we went to the game so maybe I could've met some of you guys, but I completely whiffed it. Ah well. Anyway, I'm sure you saw me at some point; I was the big guy with the button-up striped shirt sitting near the crazy dude with the Dodgers gear. :)

Anderson and Cahill to get last two spots in rotation?
• It looks like, with Justin Duchscherer undergoing elbow surgery, Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill will get the last two spots in Oakland's rotation. According to a person familiar with the pitchers, what sets Anderson and Cahill apart from fellow prospect Vin Mazzaro is a weapon to escape trouble. Cahill has a power sinker that can get a double play, and Anderson knows how to "go soft" with off-speed stuff. But Mazzaro "geeks up" - overthrows - with men on base.
