I graduated with an M.A. from USC in 2007. I've been a managing editor at Garnet and Black Attack since 2008, and my work at GABA has served witness to the transition from the doldrums of the early Spurrier years to the glories of more recent seasons. I've been fortunate enough to be an invited commentator on ESPN Radio and other venues. Thanks for reading!

I think that was Spurrier trying to motivate Davis to get back on the practice field. Not sure, though. Bruised ribs can be pretty painful.

What I've seen suggests the coaches are confident that they've got the talent available to have good play from the corners, just depends on how quickly some of the younger guys get up to speed.

Very true. It's no coincidence that we haven't suffered as many injuries since Spurrier updated the S&C program by hiring Coach Fitz in 2009.

Yeah, I think so, too. The stated rationales were contradictory. My guess is that only someone with insider knowledge could answer this.

Hoops might still be right. Sounds like Harris is ready to play. If they can get Green up to speed, we can move Brison back to safety. That's a big "if," though.

I'd have us at fifth at worst if we had Hampton and Christian, maybe higher.

Most of Auburn's running plays have an inside option, but they also generally have an edge option for the QB/RB who's not going inside, and many of them include a third jet sweep option.

We don't really have that kind of player, but my understanding is that it's less essential for a one-gap 3-4 in which the linemen play more aggressively.
