I graduated with an M.A. from USC in 2007. I've been a managing editor at Garnet and Black Attack since 2008, and my work at GABA has served witness to the transition from the doldrums of the early Spurrier years to the glories of more recent seasons. I've been fortunate enough to be an invited commentator on ESPN Radio and other venues. Thanks for reading!

I'm planning to watch it again this week and write up some more comments. I just reported on what I focused on while watching the first time.

Frankly, I thought Orth looked a lot better than Nosty, although Nosty does bring the mobility the other QBs all lack.

Spurrier has been adamant, though, that Thompson is the guy this year. He's repeatedly downplayed the idea that there will be competition for the starting spot.

Not as bad as it could have been. Sounds like it's definitely possible he'll miss a game or two, but hopefully he should be around for the duration of the season.

I knew we were done then, too, but until that play, I felt sure we would figure out a way to win.

Have your wedding in the spring, like I did. Actually, mine was in June at City Art in the Vista, so it was a bit hot outside, but it worked.

Yeah, I was initially going to write that mcmichat should be glad he wasn't there. It was a brutal, gut-wrenching game to attend.

I felt like that, too, but I also felt confident we'd finish off Tennessee. Hindsight is 20/20 on these things.

Yeah, I've talked to several people who missed the end of that game because they thought Carolina didn't have a chance.

Biggest difference between USC and UNC was that UNC had shooters. Mitchell is a great player, but she doesn't shoot the ball like DeShields does.

Inconsistency has been their MO all season, though. They look like world-beaters at times, like today, and you can see why when you scan their roster. But they also play inexplicably poorly with some regularity.
