Lawson's Opportunity
Lets all get past the Melo Drama BS for a little bit and look at one of the Nugget's future up and coming stars that has shown no intentions on leaving Denver anytime soon. According to numerous reports, Chauncey Billups will miss this week (the next three games) to rest his injured wrist.
Melo's Wish is Granted
Sorry for the teasing headline haha it was the only thing I could think of. There is no breaking news, I just came up with a new trade after hearing the New Jersey deal is dead.
My Final Thoughts on Melo
After watching the video of Melo's news conference I now believe I can attempt to break down what is going to happen with this Melo situation.
Video is here

What the hell is going on??
Well in wake of all this Melo drama I read this article on Hoopsworld that read Eric Dampier has added Denver to his list of teams including Miami and Houston.
Damion James
Well, with the new rainstorm of rumors that we heard today it sounds like there really could be a shot of Melo going to New Jersey.
Nuggets Playing Hard Ball With Melo
According to Sam Amico of NBA.com, the Denver Nuggets will only trade Melo to the Kings, Nets or Wolves.

Get Off of Gortat!!!
Okay, so I have seen hundreds of posts dedicated to trading for Orlando's reserve center, Marcin Gortat. People want to trade JR Smith for Gortat straight up in which I think is a very bad idea.

If Denver wants to stay alive they must
Make a serious run at Al Harrington. He is the only legit big man left out there and I think Denver could snag him with the full MLE.
Melo talking to FA's?
Hello stiffs, I was checkin out ESPN's rumor central and read a headline that said Melo and Chris Paul are talking to 2010 FA's.
Who's Better?
Another stiff and I are in an intense arguement on who the better basketball player is; JR Smith or Mike Miller to this date (not career numbers) .
For all you 104.3 The Fan listeners...
I was lucky enough to win the very last foursome at buffalo run that is being held tomorrow.
French Fries anyone?
After devoting a fan post to bashing Nene just a couple days ago, I will admit... When I saw Nene go down I thought to myself, which golf course Melo, Chauncey, JR and Kenyon would hit up first BUT....
I Know This is Early But...
I know I shouldn't be talking about the off season before the season is actually over, but I think I am 100% giving up on Nene.
It's time for Stern to make a new rule
After tonights game, I have had enough with a constant play that certain teams and players keep doing. I am talking about he oh so annoying flop.

Kleiza 2.0?
I will most likely get a lot of crap for this post, but I think it is an interesting name that Denver should look at. I personally loved the Linas Kleiza who shot 38% from three, didn't drop every ball that was thrown at him and didn't step out of bounds every time he was in the corner. However, last year Kleiza fell off the map which dealt him in Europe.
Yahoo.com is reporting that Bostjan Nachbar originally from the New Jersey Nets in 2008 wants to come back to the NBA. He went over seas to chase more money like LK and Josh Childress. Now he wants back in. Nachbar's career average is 7 ppg and 37% from three. I remember him being a solid three point option and nothing more, much like LK. Nachbar is 6'9 and basically is a wing scorer.
This leads to my question... Would you be welcome to Denver bringing him in as insurance in case one of Denver's 3 point threats goes down with injury ie. Billups, Smith or Lawson? I think he is a better version of Kleiza, something more along the lines of a Kyle Korver. Hits threes.
What do ya'll think? Haha I may get bashed, but I'm bored and thought I'd throw the idea out there. Thoughts??
Mikki Moore anybody?
Hoopsworld is reporting under their headline section that Mikki Moore is almost ready to play after undergoing ankle surgery in December. They listed Denver as one of the main teams planning on going after him and said if Denver doesn't land a buy out big, Moore may be Denver's best shot.
What do you guys think about Moore? I think I would take his playoff experience and vet leadership over Tacos and Frenchie any day... Thought?
My trade deadline prediction
Hoopshype reported that Zydrunas Ilgauskas will be bought out from Washington making him a free agent. Cleveland now has Jamison, Shaq, Varejo and Hickson and meaning Z won't be going back to Cleveland.
There are three teams that I could see going after Big Z once he is bought out; Dallas (Dampier was hurt the other night and if Gooden isn't bought out by LAC they will make a play for him), Atlanta (inquired about Kurt Thomas but was rejected) and Denver.
Kurt Thomas will also be bought out by Chicago making him a free agent but with Big Z's size at 7'2 and ability to shoot and rebound, I think Denver should target him.
My prediction is that Denver stands pat through the deadline and then signs either Kurt Thomas or Big Z. I hope that we could land big Z. He is exactly the type of player Denver needs and Z teamed up with Shaq shut down LA when the Lakers played Cleveland earlier this year. Also, if Denver were to play Cleveland in the finals, We can throw big Z on Shaw and let Nene and K-Mart take care of Jamison and the other two bigs.
I think if Denver signs big Z, not only will they have the fire in them from big George being ill with cancer, but they'll have their length to match up with LA and Cleveland in the finals and Denver will be the best team in the league.
Thoughts?
Blazers get Camby
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=4917644
Portland gets Camby for Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake. I don't know what to think of the deal. I don't think it hurts Denver any because Camby is a soft center. This does mean one thing... Portland won't be getting Tyrus Thomas and/or/both Sasha V. Maybe Denver can make a strong push if Minnesota doesn't swoop in and get him. Things are getting interesting.
Deal on the table for Thomas?
I read on Hoopsworld today about all the trade chatter and Thomas to Denver was in the article.
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=15257
This article was written by Joel Brigham who I think covers the Bulls for Hoopsworld, so I consider this one of the more reliable sources about the rumored Thomas to Denver. From what I got from the article was Denver has an offer of Malik Allen and Renaldo Balkman for Thomas.
There are two things holding up this deal. One, I think Chicago wants a pick included in the deal if they are getting "scrubs" in return, and two, Chicago doesn't have to trade him to cut salary because he can come off the books next year as a RFA. The thing is, if Chicago gets Balkman and Allen, they could cut Allen and save a few bucks this year (I think) if they make the trade. I have a feeling Chicago may want a deal of Allen, Balkman and JR for Thomas and Salmons, but the defeats the purpose of cutting salary, right?
Honestly, if Denver owned a 1st round pick this year and was willing to part with it, I think this deal would be done by now. I think the pick is the only thing holding up this deal. However, I think if Heinrich and/or Salmons and/or Miller get dealt within a couple hours of the deadline and a major expiring contract is brought in ie. T-Mac or Big Z etc., Chicago may be more willing to let Thomas go for straight up scrubs just to save more money this year.
I honestly hope Denver can find a way to get a dea done for Thomas while holding on to JR. I would hate to see Thomas go to either LAL or SA as Ford reported is a possibility in an article on ESPN today (Can't give you a link it's and insider only deal and a friend told me what it said). But Ford suggested Heinrich and Thomas to LA for somethng, I don't know the exact deal. Lets get Thomas is powder blue, not purple or black. Thoughts??
Nuggets have to take on TJ Ford for Foster?
Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld.com said in his latest rumors chat that Indiana would like any team who takes on Foster or Murphy to take on TJ Ford as well unless it's a complete salary dump. Is that what may have held up the Nuggets trade? Ford is due a lot of dough... like 8.5 mil I think, so it's probably impossible for Denver to take Ford on unless JR is traded and even with that I don't think the money matches. I am going to assume that Denver is looking for a third team to take on Ford and his 10 ppg. Who could use a guy like Ford? Maybe Boston? I don't know, just thought I'd throw out the latest info. And no, I would not trade JR+scrubs for Ford and Foster even if it did work.
Little Help Please
Would anyone with an ESPN insider plase copy and paste the story that Hollinger has on trades in his PER Dime. They talk about Washington and I want to see what names Washington may be throwing around. (A Wizards writer blasted myself, my writing and my ideas in an article he wrote after reading one of my INDT articles when i wrote about going after Haywood..... I'd like to see what Hollinger has to say).
Thanks fellas and GO Nuggets.
