Love to work. Love the Denver Nuggets and all things sports. I have been a Nuggets fan since 1986 and I have seen plenty of Denver Stiffs over the years.

How the FO Should Handle the Melo Situation
Let me start by saying that I think the best situation for me as a Nugs fan would be for Melo to sign his extention. However, with him waiting like he has been it doesn't look very likely.

NBA Keeps Right on Fixing Spurs Games
Nugs lost this game due to officiating, period. Ask the players, they'll tell you. If you attended this game you would realize the bitch was fixed from jump. Any other anoying ass comment about it being something else that lost this game for the Nugs is just stupid. Sorry to say it but when officiating is as biased as it was against the Spurs then the team didn't have a chance in hell. Throw all the other dumb comments out and realize that this game was fixed and nobody chooses to do anything about it. The NBA chooses to ruin my favorite sport and because I am not some nimwit reporter I can't do anything about it.
Anyone think there is anybody in today's sports media that would have the balls to get to the bottom of this shit? Or are they all going to say "the officiating was obviously terrible but that isn't the reason the Nugs lost?" What a crock of shit that is. Who is going to realize that the officiating was in the Nugs head in the 3rd and 4th and they couldn't get it out? It is the same stretch of terrible refereeing that took place in Nugs series against the Spurs in playoffs past.
Nugs should rest their starters in Orlando
I don't know what everybody else on Stiffs thinks but I am highly in favor of the Nugs resting their starters for the game in Orlando. As long as the Nugs take care of business tonight in Toronto, throwing the game in Orlando makes a lot of sense. Melo, Billups, Nene, and JR shouldn't see the floor in Orlando a couple days from now in order to have a good chance against Dallas in Dallas.
With the standings the way they are and Denver in a tie with Dallas and Utah, throwing this game makes a ton of sense. We all know that Utah will have a few more chokes before the season is over and if they don't then let them have the 2 seed. The Nugs will walk over Utah in 5 no matter who has home court. Dallas on the other hand has improved quite a bit this year and they have depth for miles to help them in the playoffs. If I have ever seen a fight where I think a fighter should take a dive, it is the upcoming game in Orlando.
If the Nugs do indeed give the game in Orlando to Orlando then they will probably be one game behind Dallas heading into Dallas the next day. But as we all know with back to backs, the team traveling on a second of a back to back doesn't really have much of a chance. I really hope the Nuggets choose to change the course of the season and forget about the Magic but put a beating on the Mavs.
What do you guys think?

mylifeline.org
This was posted today on GK's mylifeline.org account:
Kim: On Friday night, March 19, George's daughter Kelci, her husband Jackie and their son Kienan arrived from Olympia, WA. The energy of a twenty month old and five year old playing in the living room was a direct contrast to George trying to recover from two bouts of radiation that day.
We look forward to the weekends since it gives George a chance to recover somewhat from the treatment. But on Sunday afternoon we had to rush him to the hospital. His leg was extremely swollen and he was having trouble breathing. After a phone call to the doctor, we transported George to the hospital and he was admitted for blood clots in the lungs and leg. They decided to keep him in ICU so he could be closely monitored. Subsequently, he underwent some procedures to place a filter in the stomach to catch any clots that break loose and also treatment for the clot in the leg. By Monday night, he was much improved.
We're not sure when he'll be released or when his radiation will continue. We're hoping both occur - since it would mean he's gotten through the scare of the blood clots and we don't want to add any weeks onto the schedule of radiation.
It is great to have Kelci and Jackie here. They've been a big help with Kaci and we've been able to have someone with George and still keep her on her schedule.
Thanks for all your continued prayers and thoughts.

Bill Simmons writes about what a bad situation the NBA is in right now
We all have to read this one. I really like his ideas and they seem very fan oriented. God help the teams this year that are tanking their seasons and end up with nothing.
I especially enjoyed the port-a-john refference. This dude should be running a team in my opionion. Even better let's replace Stern's stupid ass with him. Great read.

Melo vs. Lebron
I know this will be a good read for everyone. Even for those of us that enjoy team basketball more than the 1 on 1 duels. Check out this article by Vincent Thomas of ESPN. I found it posted on nba.com.

I for one am hoping that the Nugs meet the Cavs in the finals. I think we will see how far superior the West is to the East in that series!
Why don't we have more talk about the situation with the referees?
I would think that this site would be covered with talk about how we got screwed when Iverson was here! I would also think that the new revelation about Billups would have us up in arms ready to file lawsuits against the NBA!
How can we post previews for games and not talk about how we hope the referees are in our favor tonight? Every post should start with "I hope the refs are betting on the Nugs to cover tonight". The cat is out of the bag and we just need to the right interviewer to sit down with Donaghy and make a real interview out of it. Forget about trying to blast him for ratting people out and get into the details of what fixing is going on.
Referees aren't allowed to have biases in sports and those that do should serve time in jail for collusion. The execs responsible for coaching the referees should spend time in jail as well. Sport is about fairness otherwise it isn't sport. They can't call it basketball if it isn't a fair competition. If Donaghy was winning 70 to 80 percent of his bets by knowing what referee's agendas were for certain games then something is seriously wrong.
Someone should sit down with Donaghy and takes notes of what he says about the refereeing in the game the other night against the Spurs. Then they can go back over games for the last 4 or 5 years in which the Nugs played the Lakers, Spurs, and Cavaliers. I have always thought those games were fixed and sometimes the Nugs beat the fix.
What is funny about this whole thing is I bet Nugs fans should be the most upset. With the attitudes of the players on the team we all love comes hate from the referees and the NBA. Who here wants to bet against me that before every Nugs game the NBA sends down a directive saying "put the clamps down on JR for his excessive celebrations after made buckets and his demonstrative actions after we make a bad call, get him by calling every little foul you can get away with (or Melo, Kmart, Billups, Nene, etc.)"?
Put that L straight on Melo's shoulders
I don't know what everyone else here thinks but I am getting really tired of Melo's selfishness losing the Nugs games. Granted, Bird was missed big time in this one but there is no excuse for Melo's play in the fourth. He had 1 point in the fourth through the Nugs run to get back in the game. He then proceeded to take a fall away jumper and luckily got a foul called so two free throws. Next time down the court Melo goes one on four and gets his shot sent back to the three point line. Two plays later he decides to jump and pass at the same time and he throws the ball straight to a Clipper. About three or four series after that Melo forgets to jump for a rebound when the Nugs were down only five and rolling towards a shot at the win.
It seems to me that Melo has played this way in all of the Nugs losses. It makes me wonder if he has hoes in every city that like to party. Pass the god damned ball please Melo!
George has been coaching his ass off ever since AC went down and I am for the first time hoping the Nugs resign him. Dude got a technical foul trying to defend his team against the awful refereeing tonight (thanks George!).
I think the Nugs have the pieces for the title this year if Chauncey can get Melo under control on these road games. Melo needs to learn that he needs to rely on his teammates a lot more on the road. He can't do it all as there has never been a man in the NBA that could. Hopefully this is the last time I feel the need to make a post blasting on Melo. Normally I would not care about a bad game or quarter but this same thing has happened in each of the Nugs losses and I'm getting really tired of it.
Look at how bad GK is looking already
Just think about how bad GK is looking
The coach has AC in front of Lawson in his rotation. AC has gotten so bad that he can’t hardly throw 5 passes per 10 that isn’t deflected or turned over. Lawson is a real stud and he seems NBA ready for sure. Guy can get to the bucket whenever he wants and he makes good decisions when he does.
The next issue that may kill the Nugs this year is GKs unwillingness to play Ronaldo Balkman. Balkman is very effective every time he steps foot on the floor. He could give the Nugs 20 minutes per night of very high intensity defense and serious offensive and defensive rebounding. He is probably worth 5 to 8 points in the plus minus category every night.
It looks to me that GK is gonna bash his head into a wall with the above mentioned issues as long as possible before he is either fired or the entire Pepsi Center croud screams at him for 4 or 5 strait games.
How is this rotation?:
Nene – Subbed by Bird
Kmart – Subbed by Balkman
Melo – Subbed by Balkman or Smith
Graham – Subbed by Smith or Afflalo
Billups – Subbed by Lawson
This is a 10 man rotation and is by far the Nugs best. With this rotation there isn’t a team in the league that I would say has a clear advantage at home or on the road against the Nugs.
Please god allow GK to swallow his pride and utilize the Nugs best rotations for the 2009-10 season. They might as well cut AC because he isn’t needed in any way and they can pay another minimum salary big. Anyone see how awful this guy is? It makes me really frustrated that all pre-season GK has had Balkman as his last man off the bench and yet he has been arguably their most effective sub. Please God please!
