The 7-1 startup of 94-95 season
Hello,
by 1994, NBA games were rarely broadcasted to Brazil, where I live. Getting fresh information was hard as there was no internet nor ESPN around here. We usually to rely on a news magazine that published all results from the past week evert Tuesday :-)
However, on Nov 22nd, 1994, the Warriors x Hornets game was broadcasted live, to my total delight. As the pre-game was going on, I could see how brilliant Tim Hardaway, Latrell Spreewell and Ricky Pierce were playing together. All of them were averaging well over 20ppg (Spree - 27.8PPG, Harda - 23.9PPG and Pierce - 21.4PPG) and shooting over 40% from 3pt (56/139) and over 50% from the field (187/371) combined.
Up to that game, the Warriors had beat the Utah Jazz twice, Spurs, Lakers and Knicks once, the only loss came to the Timberwolves, on that unforgettable game where Manute Bol hit 3 three pointers in a row to bring the Warriors back to the game (the narration @ 0:44 is unmatchable: "OH NO...... OH NOOOO...... OOOHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) -- only to see Gatling miss all 8 free throws and lose the game by 2pts :-(
I still have this game against the Hornets recorded on my VHS. Starting lineup featured Bol + Seikaly + Gugliotta with Hardaway and Sprewell on the backcourt. Immediatelly after the tip in, the Hornets were double teaming Hardaway, Sprewell and Gugliotta, forcing the first shot of the game, if I remember correctly, was 3 by Bol, which hit hard the fron iron.
We end up losing by 4 but I could clearly see that there was NO team chemestry within the team on that game. Sadly, that was the beggining of a 4 game losing streak, followed by a win and a 10 game losing streak, sinking our ship. Just much later on I went to know about Hardaway x Sprewell fight... and being a Timmy fan, I started to hate Sprewell instantly :-)
Full box scores of each game of that season can be found here:

Now here comes the question: does THIS actual team have team chemistry to go through all season + playoffs??
What you guys think? We've seen in the last 2 years how volatile Monta can be. What about Curry? And Lee?
Regards,
Gaucho

Trade for either Amare Stoudemire or Devin Harris
Ok, with the (non-official and, for all the matters, non-existent but very noticeable) ongoing feud between Stoudemire x Shaq or, even better, Stoudemire x everybody on Suns team AND with the Suns losing winnable games AND Stoudemire forcing bad shots most of the time he touches the ball AND with my mind playing tricks on me ;-) I'd like to discuss with you all about the possibility (if any) of the Warriors getting him. What do you think?
I haven't check the salaries, remaining contract years, etc but I bet we could send a package like Maggette + Jackson for him (plus Marco or CJ to play behind Nash). What do you think?
Regarding Harris, well, the dude is onfire this year, is a shot-first PG who does NOT takes threes and racks up most of his points from the line, 2 much welcomed features the Warriors would like to have in its PG player..... moreover, he's averaging ~7 assists/game and watching him play proves you that he's passing the ball and it's NOT forcing shots, a third and much needed feature in the Warriors team. (are you reading this, Corey, Steph and Jamal??)
Ok, I could spend the whole night here tinking about this and that, but I wanna hear you, please post your toughts below. Thanks!
(My first topic ever :-) - please don't rape me for souding dumb
P.S. any news about Moped Ellis? Is he on track to retunr in ~20 days?
