The Daily Forehand Juanqui's Return to Form

Being a huge fan of Ferrero I am very pleased to see him return to winning ways. After a dreadful 2008 and slipping out of the top 100 in early 2009 the Spaniard has made some impressive runs in tournaments; Casablanca W (def. Serra) Queens SF (l. to Murray), Wimbledon QF (l. to Murray), Umag Final (l. to Daydenko). Not a bad string of results consdering all the matches he lost were to players ranked significantly higher than him. He has made a strong start in Montreal defeating Hewitt (6-2 6-4) and the 13th seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils (6-3 7-6(7)). He now faces world no.3 Andy Murray who easily beat him in Queens and Wimbledon, the Scot has only played 1 match since his semi final loss to Roddick at Wimbledon and Ferrero played some very nice high percentage tennis to defeat Monfils allowing Monfils to break his serve once and forcing him to create great plays to earn every point. He will have to play his best tennis and the slow Montreal court could help his clay court style of play so maybe, just maybe we could see an upset.
